We had a very tall old tree in our back yard the had been dropping an occasional large branch that looked healthy, but we knew it shouldn't be doing that if it was. We called this company and we got an estimate and evaluation same day luckily and it did need to come down. Was very nervous about the size of our tree and the structures close by, including concern for neighbor's property being damaged. Had an 80 ft tree broken in half during a windstorm and the upper half was still connected to the bottom, leaving the tree in a dangerous and precarious position. They came out and dropped it on the spot for a very reasonable price. It was right at the edge of the woods so they took care to drop it without damaging any trees around it. Would definitely use them again. read more

I hired them to cut down 2 big trees (Even got them 2 jobs from my neighbors) I was to have more work done. I carelessly paid the entire bill!! They never finished the job. They said they would come back..never showed and never called. Very RUDE!! I have sent them e-mails with no response. Do not call them. I would Never recommend them!! read more

7/19/17 UPDATE #2 well it has been almost 3 weeks since he said he would bring dirt and fill in the HOLES/DIVOTS. I jave not heard from him nor has he brought any dirt. I had to buy 5 bags of top soil to fill in the holes and plant grass seed. Needless to say I will need about 5 more bags of top soil since the dirt has settled and is below ground level now. It is a dang shame that you can't trust someone's word now days!! Update: owner texted back trying to claim the "rain" caused them to be unable to complete the job. Advised owner that his guys were gone by 11-11:30am and it didn't rain until after 4 pm! (On Friday) I then texted owner the photos below...he stated he would be by on Wednesday to see the yard. He showed up around noon and was in my backyard "blowing" the wood chips all over the yard (basically seperating them out everywhere) my roommate happened to see him and told me he was in the yard. (Not sure he was even planning on knocking on the door to let me know he was there) I went out and showed him all the problems. He stated I SHOULD EXPECT DIVOTS IN MY YARD AND HE DOESN'T FIX THEM. I told him I did not expect divots as I had never had a HUGE TREE let alone 7 trees cut down. He had no reply, just had a crappy attitude with me. He reattached the 3rd bracket on the fence, picked up the pieces of wood/tree, blew the wood chips and said he will be back with a couple 5 gallon buckets of dirt to fill in the holes and he left. Oh and he also claimed he went out of town and returned last night and claims the workers were supposed to work the weekend and decided not to work. It seems like he likes to "blame" everyone or everything else for a crappy job!! ORIGINAL COMMENT : So i had these guys give me an estimate in March 2017 to remove 6 trees and plant a Spruce tree ($2,800.). I called them to do the work around middle of June 2017. When i called i spoke with the wife, advised i didnt want the spruce tree but want the 7th tree removed. (In all fairness she had a baby crying in the background). When they arrived on 6/28 i told the guy (after he asked) what trees went. Then i get a call from Owner saying the price did not include the 7th tree. He said it would be $300 more for the 7th tree.($2,300 + 500 spruce =2,800 -500 spruce +300 (7th tree)= $2,600 total) i approved the extra $300. They worked topping all the trees.. then the owner shows up and said that with the pool and hot tub in the way...they can't "drop" the trees as planned so now they have to cut & rope the trees which now adds additional $400 to do this, i agreed as long as they are down by Thursday 6/29. (Note: there were 2 trees in between powerlines which could NOT be "dropped" even if the pool & hot tub was not set up. The other 5 trees could be "dropped" just at a different angle) As i told him about my husband and our mini vacation. So around 8 pm they finish for the day and left. The owner said they had a small job the next day but would be back to finish in afternoon. (Only 2 trees are down at this point) oh and they left the cherry picker & forklift in my yard. Next day i called the Owner at 5:32pm because no one had showed to finish the job. He said he had "equipment" problems. I said i dont want these logs (tops of the trees) laying on my grass and killing it plus i was leaving on a mini vacation the next day (friday 6/30) as my husband is terminal and it may be his last chance to go. Owner said he would be over in a bit to "down" the other trees. They showed up around 7pm. Downed the trees, leaving the logs and large tree trunks laying in the yard. Owner asked if i would pay him now since i was leaving tomorrow. I gave him the $2,600 check and said i would pay the rest ($400) when he is finished. (Left the check with my roommate to give him when done). Friday, i am loading up the car for our mini vacation and the crew shows up. One guy loaded the cherry picker and left. I was told by roommate (today) that the owner asked for the $400 check as they had finished the trees and his son would be back to load the forklift, fix my fence back and blow off the wood chips (which ARE everywhere). She went ahead and gave him the check. When i return on Monday (7/3) there is wood chips everywhere, divots (large & small) all over the yard, dead grass & large gouges (from the forklift..forks) in the yard. The fence is attached but only by 2 brackets at the main post. The 3rd bracket is laying on the ground at the bottom of the post and no clips on the other post to hold the fence. Granted it is July 4th but i sent a text messageat 9:23am today... to the owner to have these issues taken care of. No responsed as of yet! I would not recommend this "company" at all !! $3,000.00 later and now i have to patch, fill in and rake/clean up my yard. read more

P and L came out and cleaned up a large part of a tree that fell into my yard from a neighbors tree. They were in and out and left my yard looking like nothing had happened. My yard looks like nothing happened. They were very nice in dealing with them and very reasonably priced. I'm very happy with their service. P&L doesn't honor their quotes and they leave a mess in your yard. First, the mess: they cut our tree down and just left the bulk of the trunk laying in our yard. It's been three days and it's still here! The exact quote they gave us was to "Take down and clean up Riverbirch; Grind stump - $400". We waited a few months from the original quote to decide that we really did want the tree removed, so we called to confirm the price and they said they would honor the quote they gave us 5 months ago (they were supposed to swing by the house to check it out again). When they showed up to take down the tree, they said they wouldn't do it for less than $450. Then when we said we were going to plant a smaller tree to replace it, they said they need to grind the stump further, and would need another $50, for a total of $500. read more

Said he had a special machine wouldn't cause damage he was $1000 cheaper than the next closest bid. I would have rather spent the extra $1000 with his competitor. The machine left ruts all throughout our yard. His cleanup was sub par, the job took a lot longer than quoted. His worker left cigarette butts on my sidewalk. Tots disrespect for our property. The tree came down safely no damage to. My house or fence but I had to have the lawn rolled top soil added to all the torn sod locations and reseeded not to mention all the down time....what a mess unprofessionally done! Our neighbor used a competitor who put a giant crane in their yard! When they left we couldn't even tell they had a tree removed. The cleanup was spectacular... I would advise spending the extra money, and avoiding this guys excuses and headaches! read more
