Really wanted a greener print alternative for my eco-friendly client's new business cards. Since I'd previously received stock and print samples from Greenerprinter I knew what they could do. Great - I have a 3 color PMS job, digital CMYK is not going to cut it, so next step get a custom quote for spot color printing. Easy right? Wrong The response to my quote request was to be directed to look at the prices for digital printing on their website. Erm, thanks but I'd really like a custom quote for printing using spot inks. Response - We do not quote business cards printed with PMS inks as we only run the 17pt stock on our 5/C 20x29 Heidelberg Speedmaster and the cost to run special colors would be prohibitive.. Me: But I got a quote for a different business card project using PMS inks just last December. Besides your website says you print custom spot colors. In fact they have a whole page dedicated to promoting just that. Response - It is not that we cannot print offset printed business cards using special colors, I am just suggesting that it can be much more expensive that offer printing in CMYK which we do all day, every day. Wait what, so you're saying you could have given me a quote but you decided not to? Awesome! I think I dodged a bullet. There are other printers out there that actually want your business. I've used Greenerprinter.com a few times now, and I'm really satisfied with the service and quality of the product. Every time I had an issue or question I called customer service and Pauline answered the phone... they don't use a call center, they have personal service, people that actually work within the print shop. Coming from a printing background, I really appreciated this. I'm always nervous when using an online printer, but Pauline helped me through the whole process, and made sure I was taken care of. Greenerprinter provides a specialized service, that focuses on being as sustainable as possible, which is rather tough in the printing industry. Anyone who knows anything about printing and cares about the planet we live on will appreciate that they use all recycled paper stocks and non-toxic soy based inks. They also ship their product in recycled boxes as well. It's worth the extra money for these reasons. As a freelance graphic design team, my wife and I have decided to exclusively use Greenerprinter for all of our customers printing needs. If they don't want to use Greenerprinter, we'll provide the file, and they'll have to take care of printing elsewhere. The only drawback is that we live in Minnesota, and have to get the product shipped, which uses quite a bit a fuel to get it here. Maybe someday the print industry will get on board to a greener way of printing or Greenerprinter will franchise out and open a facility in the Midwest. read more

More than just a printer!! They are innovators. Went there a couple of times for a rush job on some brochures and they did a great job. On my last visit their staff (In a very delicate and professional way) asked me a few questions about my business and after listening very carefully they made a couple of recommendations that at first I thought were impossible. Then a couple of months ago my sales were in a slump so I figured I had nothing to lose so I tried their variable data marketing campaign on toilet paper and now my sales are THRU THE ROOF!! I've worked with GreenerPrinter a lot and what's so great about them is that they're the only online print company that I can find that will allow you to request a custom quote with ease. So many other sites give you the option, but make it such a hassle, it's like pulling teeth. Their turnaround on quotes is super quick (within a day) and they are always on top of their proofing. Ordered brochures and several delivery dates were missed. I was told they would be ready on a Monday, they were ready Tuesday. I asked that they be shipped locally, they never arrived. Was told by customer service "Oops we forgot to ship them". Then they said brochures would arrive Monday morning. No brochures. Called the customer service again and was told it was my fault as I didn't input the correct address. Uh..you guys entered the address over the phone, not me. Now told "they still won't arrive today". Wow. Worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. It's one thing to make a mistake, quite another to blame the customer for it when it was clearly an internal error. No apology either. Whatever. DO NOT user this printer if you are at all concerned about timing and delivery dates. read more

Company website misstated the quote for our printing job, then when speaking with a company representative we were promised that a redesign would meet their requirements and maintain the quoted price. I was really excited to find affordable, responsible postcards to send out as save the date cards. The online ordering system was pretty good, although it made me a little nervous to submit my files and get proofs AFTER paying. Turnaround time for the proofs was really fast. The postcards looked great in the proofs. However, they were not what I expected when they arrived - I've seen matte finished cards before and these don't look very good in comparison. The gradients are off and everything looks sharp where I wanted it to be smooth. Mine are grayscale so maybe color would look better, who knows. The worst part though is that the postcards are really flimsy, and the corners are slightly smashed just from being in the plastic wrap. I can't imagine how they will look after going through the mail. This wouldn't be so bad if I was sending out advertisements or something but the postcards are advertised as being good for save the dates, which I strongly disagree with. I got a small drop of water on one and half the card warped immediately. I am disappointed in the quality especially after paying over $1 per card. read more
