Unlike her previous dentist, Dr. McDonnell exhibited such compassion and kindness. She loved it so much in fact she wanted to go back the next day! If there was a Disneyland for kids who are going to the dentist, this is it... Arcadia games for bigger kids while they wait and after they are done, wall and ceiling 3D sculptures, hand painted cartoons on the walls that fascinate kids and calm them, and the staff is fantastic. Having used this practice for so many years its wonderful to see today second generations patients that we remember sitting in the lobby with over the years. My family is not alone in this. Second generations of patients...That's almost unheard of today! When I saw the reviews here I scratched my head at what could possibly be said that was negative about this office or it's people. All I can say is read their reviews very carefully and than fact check these reviewers... as soon as you look at the other reviews these people have made you can tell right away NOTHING MAKES THEM HAPPY! It's so obvious that negative people embellish something negative to sound like it's the end of the world. Directly to the woman who said she was 5 minutes late and then was treated horribly. Oh please.., 5 minutes late anywhere is never a problem anywhere you go! You know she was 20 minutes late or more easily. And ya what do you expect the doctor to do spend 5 extra minutes telling you how fine it is for you to be late because the 10 patients after you don't care that they are now waiting an extra 20. It's the same people who cause traffic on the highways, oblivious to everyone else. Oh and of course the woman who was mad because Dr. L. Asked about groceries... well as parents we all know there are those parents that give their kids apple juice, lollipops, candy, sugared breakfast cereals, and soft cheap carbs with little nutritional value. It's the same parents that say "go brush your teeth" to their 6 year old and then think they went and actually did it. If you have children you need to actually parent them. No one likes to be called out on anything but if your dentist says your groceries are insufficient (etc.) for your child, he's not saying that to make you feel bad... he's saying it to help your kid! Tell me what I can do to help my child from an expert is always welcome! And the terrible story from the lady with the autistic kids... OMG! If this actually happened how did the lawsuit go? If any sane parent ever had an experience like that they would sue a doctor for every penny they had and your husband etc. would have bloodied the doctor in the parking lot! I'm not saying none of it happened but wow. Every child wears sunglasses because the professionals at the this office know that children's eyes are sensitive. I can understand if there was some miscommunication between an adult tooth vs. a child tooth etc. but for the matter of the infection... your son must have been on antibiotics before going to the next dentist office that said there was no infection, (we all know you can't get a next day appointment in any pediatric office so some-time must have passed while on the antibiotics). Did you request the X-rays that showed the infection for the new dentist. Reputable Dentist offices are very good about sharing dental records. Your daughter who's drool hit the floor... and Dr.L. Supposedly flipped out. No, sorry there is no way that could happen. I brought my 7 year old niece who actually threw up in the office just before Dr. L was going to start. The girls were all very good about the clean up and every safety protocol was implemented. They consoled her better than I could. I chose to change her appointment just in case she was getting sick and we were unaware of it. The other couple negative reviews here are also very transparent. Try this practice yourself and write a review. Be honest so people can read facts not Anger Managment reviews.

I couldn't understand why my son was so jumpy and in pain, when he has never before or since been that way. That female assistant that was with him knew what was happening because I could see the sympathy in her face. However, she too should be cast to the depths of h- for standing by and doing nothing. His bedside manner was horrific and I hate that he got his "rocks off" at the expense of my child. I thought to myself that he must not like children. Ethnic parents, beware!

So disappointed! I've been coming here since I was a kid with no problems and then boom one day…read moreproblems! I came in because I have l replacement fillings for life with dr Barnes. I came in because while I was eating one day my tooth filling cracked and fell out. Apparently have very deep fillings and this is why that happened so I came back to get this fixed. Because my tooth was chipped I thought dr Barnes would just cover it but instead he shaved it down and then added new filling. I didn't want this but this is what he assured that's what needed to be done bc it was sharp so i asked him to just do the edge that was sharp. Once I thought we were done and I told him it felt fine he continued to shave it down more, so much that half my tooth was gone and I was in pain. I called the office and told them I was having major sensitivity and something had gone wrong. I couldn't eat on that side of my mouth or put anything cold or hot in my mouth. I told them whatever he did needed to be fixed but they said there was nothing they could do. So bottom line I went to 2 other dentist, told them the story and they tested my tooth sensitivity and told me my tooth is dying I would need a root canal and the whole tooth was now cavity (which was newly filled?). I didn't have the money to fix anything that would be costly at this point so I decided to do nothing and continue on Hoping it would go away or not be too detrimental. I called dr Barnes office again letting them know about what happened previously and the issues I was now having because of him shaving my tooth down too low. Again they told me there was nothing they could do. I still don't have the money to afford to fix this tooth that's had me in pain for years but I've talked to some attorneys who said I should press charges so they fix what they did. I haven't decided upon this but it's definitely an option I'm leaning towards because it's not fair they didn't offer to fix their mistake on their own. I'm just so disappointed because I've know dr Barnes since I was 2 years old and he didn't seem like the type of person to wrong someone and not make up for it. I sadly misjudged his character and suffered for it. I'll never be going back or bringing my future kids to him.

Absolutely terrified of the prospect of having extensive dental work and absolutely worn-out suffering with tooth pain for over 2 weeks, I must have angered Darshan Patel. His egotistical driven anger took over for which I suffered even more pain from his brutal treatment, repeatedly poking my injured tooth which is absolutely appalling for a health care professional. He had already identified the problem tooth with an x-ray and exam, so his repeated poking was unjustified. Patel had only bad news including a referral for a root canal which heightened my fear and anxiety. Just an extremely terrifying day and I will never go back. The antibiotics that he prescribed did help, however, still having difficulty with tooth and also another crown on other side, that Patel has been so-called 'watching' for over a year but never really admitted that the previous dentist failed to install crown properly. I am still very troubled from July's horrible dental visit. The imaging was brought up on a large screen and he pointed out everything without me asking. My husband had an earlier appointment with him, because he works closely with the oral surgeon who will do his implants. Imaging between the offices On another note, I couldn't believe how clean his office is. The little square vent on the drop ceiling was one with the tiny squares in it. It was pristine and that's not easy to keep clean.
