The new doc is nothing more than a grimy snake oil salesman who puts profits over patient care. The first words I heard out of her mouth.. have you thought about veneers? Not hi I'm the new dr schmuckatelli, how's your day, let's fix your smile or anything. Before you touched my mouth I had confidence... a little but still had a meaningful smile. First, you messed up my filling which is now going to result in a crown. Then I went in for my routine cleaning for nothing more than just a cleaning, 6/2/26 with an *intact* *functioning* "decaying" tooth. later in the cleaning, doc comes in, we agree on a crown. Then after we agree on the corrective action someone enters my mouth, don't know who, I close my eyes during any dental work. After we've chosen on getting a Crown and they decide to test the integrity by tapping it with a tool. Tbh, the fact this was even necessary is beyond me. But whatever, yOu'Re ThE eXpErT. So we schedule the crown and my tooth breaks after I left. Yes, Absolutely, eventually the tooth would have broke in time, under MY terms.The x rays prior to the cleaning will show it intact and functional tooth before you touched me. Because of you I no longer have a functional tooth, just a sharp edge cutting my tongue. So I didn't bother calling since we had an appointment in the coming days... then you canceled day of and re-scheduled me out to the next month, even after explaining my broken tooth from the cleaning. Your job is simple, I come in with a problem, you fix it and we are both happy. Once YOU cause the problem it becomes your responsibility as a leader to fix it. So after a month of waiting since my initial appt, today 7/1/26, your snake oil salesman decides to take her high road with zero accountability. No reassurance they would make it right, just laughs and snarky remarks. I said No thank you and walked right out. The snobby remarks and facial reactions throughout the few visits together are unsatisfactory for a "professional". Thank you MyPortOranges dentist for removing what dignity I had with my smile. Dr.L.'s knowledge of dentistry is unsurpassed in pediatrics and his staff is very accommodating when ever possible. The office is a floor to ceiling welcoming environment for kids and even adults. If there was a Disneyland for kids who are going to the dentist, this is it... Arcadia games for bigger kids while they wait and after they are done, wall and ceiling 3D sculptures, hand painted cartoons on the walls that fascinate kids and calm them, and the staff is fantastic. They are all excellent with kids of any age. Having used this practice for so many years its wonderful to see today second generations patients that we remember sitting in the lobby with over the years. My family is not alone in this. Second generations of patients...That's almost unheard of today! When I saw the reviews here I scratched my head at what could possibly be said that was negative about this office or it's people. All I can say is read their reviews very carefully and than fact check these reviewers... as soon as you look at the other reviews these people have made you can tell right away NOTHING MAKES THEM HAPPY! It's so obvious that negative people embellish something negative to sound like it's the end of the world. Directly to the woman who said she was 5 minutes late and then was treated horribly. Oh please.., 5 minutes late anywhere is never a problem anywhere you go! You know she was 20 minutes late or more easily. And ya what do you expect the doctor to do spend 5 extra minutes telling you how fine it is for you to be late because the 10 patients after you don't care that they are now waiting an extra 20. It's the same people who cause traffic on the highways, oblivious to everyone else. Oh and of course the woman who was mad because Dr. L. Asked about groceries... well as parents we all know there are those parents that give their kids apple juice, lollipops, candy, sugared breakfast cereals, and soft cheap carbs with little nutritional value. It's the same parents that say "go brush your teeth" to their 6 year old and then think they went and actually did it. If you have children you need to actually parent them. No one likes to be called out on anything but if your dentist says your groceries are insufficient (etc.) for your child, he's not saying that to make you feel bad... he's saying it to help your kid! Tell me what I can do to help my child from an expert is always welcome! And the terrible story from the lady with the autistic kids... OMG! If this actually happened how did the lawsuit go? If any sane parent ever had an experience like that they would sue a doctor for every penny they had and your husband etc. would have bloodied the doctor in the parking lot! I'm not saying none of it happened but wow. Every child wears sunglasses because the professionals at the this office know that children's eyes are sensitive. I can understand if there was some miscommunication between an adult tooth vs. a child tooth etc. but for the matter of the infection... your son must have been on antibiotics before going to the next dentist office that said there was no infection, (we all know you can't get a next day appointment in any pediatric office so some-time must have passed while on the antibiotics). Did you request the X-rays that showed the infection for the new dentist. Reputable Dentist offices are very good about sharing dental records. Your daughter who's drool hit the floor... and Dr.L. Supposedly flipped out. No, sorry there is no way that could happen. I brought my 7 year old niece who actually threw up in the office just before Dr. L was going to start. The girls were all very good about the clean up and every safety protocol was implemented. They consoled her better than I could. I chose to change her appointment just in case she was getting sick and we were unaware of it. The other couple negative reviews here are also very transparent. Try this practice yourself and write a review. Be honest so people can read facts not Anger Managment reviews.

I have to comment on Dr. McDonnell's oral exam: I have never had such a complete and appropriate oral examination by a General Dentist at a routine oral hygiene appointment! She took the time to do a complete head and neck examination, then proceeded to the oral cavity, top to bottom. As oral, head and neck cancers are often discovered by the patient at an advanced stage, it is very comforting to know that my dentist is performing such an important exam at every visit. The root canal was done through a bridge that had been installed over a decade ago. After they installed the permanent filling, 5 days later, my bridge fell off while I was eating. I called back with the problem and was told to come back and they would reattach it. After a lot of "prep" work, the reattachment charges were over $500 and 30 days later it came off again. Needless to say, I wasn't going back there to let them try again and CHARGE me again. The competent dentist that did reattach it said they almost destroyed one of the teeth that was an anchor, making the reattachment difficult. STAY AWAY AND DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

They fully understood that removing the painful terrible tooth was the main priority and they got right on it. They didn't even attempt to do all the other procedures which might be important at a later date but were not important at the moment. And the dentist was so incredible that he removed the tooth without causing my wife any pain or discomfort at all... and that is rare since she normally despises dental visits because of her sensitive mouth which feels every little 'poke or jab' with high discomfort. They then told me after i waited to at least see my dentist about an issue, that Dr. now had two emergencies and I also would not be able to see him today either. I explained I had an appointment made through their call center, (no mire direct-to-office calls), but they rudely said they had "nothing to do with that call center."! I walked out. I have never had such rude people to deal with. I left and wint be back, no matter how much I love Dr. Windom. It's really too bad.​
