After watching this MAGA dentist on tv, I finally figured out what is going on. I strongly believe that this dentist intentionally gave less, if any, laughing gas to my son, who's obviously not his "preferred" type of patient. I couldn't understand why my son was so jumpy and in pain, when he has never before or since been that way. That female assistant that was with him knew what was happening because I could see the sympathy in her face. However, she too should be cast to the depths of h- for standing by and doing nothing. It's very disappointing to have a appointment and a act of God floods the streets and roads and when you can't get to the appointment and tell them you can't make it do to the weather and storm they turn around and charged me a no show fee do to the storm. This is the best pediatric dental office ever! Our family has been going to Dr.L. for nearly 25 years. Yes Yelpper's that's multiple generations of family . Dr.L.'s knowledge of dentistry is unsurpassed in pediatrics and his staff is very accommodating when ever possible. The office is a floor to ceiling welcoming environment for kids and even adults. If there was a Disneyland for kids who are going to the dentist, this is it... Arcadia games for bigger kids while they wait and after they are done, wall and ceiling 3D sculptures, hand painted cartoons on the walls that fascinate kids and calm them, and the staff is fantastic. They are all excellent with kids of any age. Having used this practice for so many years its wonderful to see today second generations patients that we remember sitting in the lobby with over the years. My family is not alone in this. Second generations of patients...That's almost unheard of today! When I saw the reviews here I scratched my head at what could possibly be said that was negative about this office or it's people. All I can say is read their reviews very carefully and than fact check these reviewers... as soon as you look at the other reviews these people have made you can tell right away NOTHING MAKES THEM HAPPY! It's so obvious that negative people embellish something negative to sound like it's the end of the world. Directly to the woman who said she was 5 minutes late and then was treated horribly. Oh please.., 5 minutes late anywhere is never a problem anywhere you go! You know she was 20 minutes late or more easily. And ya what do you expect the doctor to do spend 5 extra minutes telling you how fine it is for you to be late because the 10 patients after you don't care that they are now waiting an extra 20. It's the same people who cause traffic on the highways, oblivious to everyone else. Oh and of course the woman who was mad because Dr. L. Asked about groceries... well as parents we all know there are those parents that give their kids apple juice, lollipops, candy, sugared breakfast cereals, and soft cheap carbs with little nutritional value. It's the same parents that say "go brush your teeth" to their 6 year old and then think they went and actually did it. If you have children you need to actually parent them. No one likes to be called out on anything but if your dentist says your groceries are insufficient (etc.) for your child, he's not saying that to make you feel bad... he's saying it to help your kid! Tell me what I can do to help my child from an expert is always welcome! And the terrible story from the lady with the autistic kids... OMG! If this actually happened how did the lawsuit go? If any sane parent ever had an experience like that they would sue a doctor for every penny they had and your husband etc. would have bloodied the doctor in the parking lot! I'm not saying none of it happened but wow. Every child wears sunglasses because the professionals at the this office know that children's eyes are sensitive. I can understand if there was some miscommunication between an adult tooth vs. a child tooth etc. but for the matter of the infection... your son must have been on antibiotics before going to the next dentist office that said there was no infection, (we all know you can't get a next day appointment in any pediatric office so some-time must have passed while on the antibiotics). Did you request the X-rays that showed the infection for the new dentist. Reputable Dentist offices are very good about sharing dental records. Your daughter who's drool hit the floor... and Dr.L. Supposedly flipped out. No, sorry there is no way that could happen. I brought my 7 year old niece who actually threw up in the office just before Dr. L was going to start. The girls were all very good about the clean up and every safety protocol was implemented. They consoled her better than I could. I chose to change her appointment just in case she was getting sick and we were unaware of it. The other couple negative reviews here are also very transparent. Great dentist! I'm so surprised to read the bad reviews here. Glad I didn't see them before we went or I might not have gone. We just got back from our first appointment with him after wanting a second opinion after a different dentist in Palm Coast, whom I did not like. Dr. LaTulippe, a very kind and gentle man, confirmed my thoughts on the recommended treatment for my son's teeth. I also feel good about the painless treatments they will give. The staff was very friendly, they made an effort to get us in quickly upon cancelations and we didn't wait long at all. The office is made just for kids, a nice, relaxing place to help ease their fears. My 9yo son was happy with the appointment after his initial hesitation. Definitely a keeper! read more

You would think for someone who deals with children they would be a little bit more gentle my granddaughter have a scratch on her face from one side to the other from the tech standing x-rays of the equipment into her mouth to get a picture Very unprofessional, and rude! I would not recommend for your baby nor would I ever be back! read more

I have never felt so disheartened as a mother from my kids dental experience. The dental assistants were great! Super friendly and patient with my 3 kids. The dentist was rude and irritable. He was impatient with my 23 month old but mostly rude to me. I felt scolded for still giving my daughter a pacifier and he even said something about how we grocery shop. ?? I felt relief after reading reviews and realizing it wasn't me - he just has a poor bedside manner. read more

The office was cute and the staff was very nice. The dentist...a disappointment! I have chosen to NOT continue under their care. If you do, make sure you are not one second late for your appt. Dentist had a few passive aggressive comments about me being maybe 5 minutes late. Even threatened to not be able to take care of my child's tooth. The times I was there, he was very disrespectful to his staff. Made assistant to feel dumb for what she was doing even though he had asked her to do the task and right in front of us. I felt so badly for her :( She was great too! He was very unprofessional with my child who was traumatized. Making him feel like a baby for crying even though he was in a lot of pain. Real pain. Ignored my child's plea for his laughing gas to work and brushed him off...and me when I expressed concern. I felt so badly for my child when we left. My child just kept apologizing to me for being so upset and that he tried so hard to be brave but it hurt so badly. He was so upset and I had to enforce that he is NOT what the dentist was making him out to be. He was very brave and did the best he could! That is all I ever could ask for. He was in pain and afraid and that is perfectly understandable. Just because some "4 and 5 year olds" have been more calm (according to the dentist, repeatedly) doesn't mean they were in the same pain level or fear. As a mother, that is heartbreaking to go through with your child and I put him in that chair! I should have researched better and chosen better. WON'T make that mistake again! I took my three children to Miles of Smiles with high hopes that we had made the right choice for a pediatric dentist. After reviewing their website I was excited to read that there were video games in the lobby and a waterfall w/ Koi pond to look at while having your teeth worked on. It sounded wonderful!! The staff was courteous and the wait time minimal. They took all 3 of my children (9,7 and 5) back at once for cleanings and we were all in one very large room which I liked. The hygienist assigned to my son was less than friendly . I explained to her we are in the process of evaluating him for autism. When my son began having a minor meltdown about the lights shining in his eyes she was less than patient. She told him she needed the light and that was just how it was. If you have a child with autism then you already know how that type of response goes over. Let me just say that things went downhill with her from there. My other two children had a very pleasant hygienist and their cleanings went without incident. When the dentist reviewed their teeth he explained to me that all of them had cavities and that my son's mouth in particular was in dire need of work. He told me that my son had an adult tooth that needed pulled, several cavities in baby teeth and an infection that would need to be treated right away. He had the receptionist schedule us return appointments for that same afternoon to begin the 'extensive work' that needed to be done. I left the office nervous but still confident we were in good and competent hands. My oldest (9) was up first and everything went fine with her. With all of my children they used the Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) and the hygienist came out to inform me that my oldest was calm and sleeping and the work was going well. When DD came out after her procedure she told my other two that it was 'fine and no big deal'. My son went back for his procedure next expecting to have the same experience as his big sister. The hygienist who took my son back was AMAZING. Her name was Wendy and she understood the autism issues and was very calm and patient with him. He went back to the room without me (which is a very good sign). When Wendy brought my son back out she said that he was unable to handle the process but that he had really tried. He had a bloody lip and he was sobbing and telling me how awful the dentist was. I figured it was just my son's sensory issues in overdrive. When my youngest went back next she was scared about how her brother had come out with blood and asked me to go back with her. I am thankful to God above that I did because I would have never believed what happened otherwise! They had her breathing the nitrous with the light shining directly in her eyes. She did have sunglasses on but she kept squirming and pointing to the light. The dentist came in and said to her 'this will go just fine if you are ready to cooperate' Something about the way he said it made me feel uneasy. he began getting his instruments ready but my daughter was not even relaxed from the nitrous yet. He snapped at her that she needed to be breathing deeper and she kept saying she was trying but she didn't like it. He got the needle which to a five year old must look massive and began giving her shots in her gums. She started gasping and crying and kicking and I was doing my best to calm her down and tell her it was going to be alright. The dentist on the other hand acted as if he didn't have time for this and told her again in a harsh voice that she needed to breath deep, listen to him and do as she was told. My daughter nodded yes but when he began with the shots again she screamed in pain, kicked and jumped out of the chair. She was shaking and sobbing 'my mouth, my mouth' and drool was spilling out of her lips. The dentist raised his voice to me and said 'do NOT let her drool like that- she has no reason to be acting like this- you need to stop her before she drools on my floor'. I reached behind me to get a tissue at which point my daughters drool hit the floor and this dentist hit the roof. He yelled at us "this is unacceptable and now I have to sterilize the entire floor because of you' then he turned and yelled at the hygienist 'get her out of her, we're done GET HER OUT!'. wow and WOW. My youngest is only 5 so this is hardly something that she should have been in control of. She is very afraid of needles and pain and this has traumatized her considerably. We have been labeled as 'uncooperative by this dentist. It's a shame that his office is so beautiful but his bedside demeanor so ugly. FOLLOW UP: after a visit to a new dentist my son DID NOT have an infection, does have cavities and does have a baby tooth that needs to be pulled NOT an adult tooth. I recently brought my 3-year-old in for his first trip to the dentist. He was really nervous, but immediately calmed down when we walked inside the building. This place is really fun for kids. There is a game room in the waiting room, fun pictures all over the walls, a big fish pond for the kids to look at through the window when they're in the exam chair. All the staff members we encountered were great with my son and friendly to me. The doctor was slightly condescending towards me at one point, but not so much that it ruined our visit. He was overall friendly and interacted well with my son. We'll be happy to go back! read more

Not only does he seem to be a great dentist, but he has video games in the waiting room. Every time my son has an appointment, he asks if we can go EARLY to play. Can you believe a kid wanting to go to the dentist. We have always had the same hygienist too and she is fabulous. read more

Bad office with no respect to parents with young kids. Brought by 3-yr old for an annual exam and got almost ignored while waiting in the lobby. After the long wait, a trashy "hygienist" met my child with no smile or nothing, and started aggressive cleaning procedure while forcing the child's mouth to be painfully open even with my verbal request to be mindful for the youngster's first dentist visit . I had to stop her at what she was doing. Never returning to this place again. read more

This is NOT your childhood dentist. Dr. LaTulippe and his staff make going to the dentist fun. The game room occupies the children until it's time for their appointment - a separate room with free video games for all ages. It's amazing. The hygienists chairs face a wall of glass onto a courtyard with a pond full of turtles and the room is painted in an underwater scene full of fun and fanciful creatures. And that's before I mention the quality of care! Dr. LaTulippe and his staff are great with kids and dedicated to keeping their teeth healthy. This is the way pediatric dentistry should be. read more
