My own dentist doesn't do extractions, she refered me to another dentist to pull a troublesome tooth. I procrastinated it so many times. It would get better, then painful, get better, then infected, get better, then impossible to even sleep. The refered dentist couldn't see me for 3 weeks, then it was at an office 200 miles away. I read Nextdoor reviews and called Cooper Dental. They got me in same day, cautioned that the most they could probably do is an exam and x-ray. I figured I had to start somewhere. I had the preliminary visit, but an extraction today wasn't possible. I was given a Rx for antibiotics and an appointment 2 weeks away. Whilst I was at the pharmacy, the office called and said someone canceled, could I comeback for the extraction??? Heck yes! I went back, had a smooth and uneventful procedure. Shout out to the entire office staff and Dr. Perkins. Sadly, it was his last day, he's moving for family, but he is a wonderful dentist. The Assistants were also very professional and knowledgeable. I have had the worst luck experience using Cooper Dental. They use young doctors out of school to work on their patients, then when they mess up they take no accountability. I went there to get a bridge and needed tooth # 7 done which is a front tooth. I paid out of pocket $1050 because they thought United wouldn't cover it being cosmetic. They received $868 from United and I paid the $1050. my tooth fell out and although they have a 3 yr guarantee on their work they refused to fix it or pay the money I paid them $1050. I had my cleaning as usual my rt upper tooth was hurting & lower teeth. The Dentist told me to use medicated toothpaste which I did religiously everyday TID. Then I was going on a cruise on 2/8/25. The night before the Cruise my Rt upper Crown & tooth came out! So my husband called STAT DENTAL they gave us appointment for that AM @ 8am. The Dentist they Choose was in Miami Beach they took me in right away told me I had 3 choices live with the fallen tooth, prepare for a an implant,have a mouth guard with my temporary tooth. So I opted for prepare the implant & temporary tooth guard. They worked on me quickly & the Dentist gave me a good numbness to my gums that I felt nothing. It took 2hrs. They are very expensive they suggested I get Verniers wish I don't need. So I found another Dentist Fairchild Oaks the took me in right away. When I came back home they take my insurance. I started going here when it was Cooper and Cooper. It was a professional establishment. The Coopers retired and sold the business then it was sold again and I think sold once again. This place is now a clinic; people turnover; you are jammed into a cube and it is not clean. I was charged $72.00 for a cleaning because I was told they don`t take my insurance. I then receive a notice from my Insurance Company that they paid for my cleaning and I never should have been charged. I am still waiting after 2 phone calls and 3 weeks for my $72.00 reimbursement. left cooper dental with my wife after 7 years. before even beginning my cleaning today, i was hit with a bill of insurance increase. i was paying $189/year. now they tell me i am on maintenance, which i was never on, and the cost would be $350/year. my wife, who has 6 teeth, had her insurance raised from $189/year to $240/year. this was the first encounter from the hygienist...then in comes 2 "leaders?". my wife and i were appalled at how we were greeted and treated. heading to a new dentist. good riddance cooper dental oh, by the way, we thought it odd that there was one car in the parking lot. we found out later that they are ooen only 4 days a week. they told us that employees wanted more time off for family. are you kidding me ..they must be in financial trouble. stay away ..my advice. read more

I started coming to Cooper Dental in 2017 because they were open on Fridays and the staff was amazing. Fast forward to 2023, I've never seen the same dentist in here twice and I've never seen the same hygienist either. They book you out 6 months in advance just to call you and reschedule your appointment just before hand. Now, they're closed on Fridays, schedule appointments with my then 15 year old daughter without me being involved (are they going to be the ones to bring her up here??) and I'm sure will still call to reschedule your already rescheduled appointments. Will be on the hunt for a new dentist unfortunately. I really loved them at first and wanted to keep loving them. After 2 years of this type of behavior, I'm done. My husband and I have been patients here for the past five years. I would advise not going here because they book out 6 months for preventative care and what they have been doing lately is cancelling appointments, either same day or day before, and saying that they will put you on a waitlist to get you in as soon as they can. That call never comes until the next 6 month appointment and then that one gets cancelled. My husband is now 1 year from his last cleaning. I've had to call our previous dentist where we used to live up north to get him in for cleaning as we will be traveling up there to visit with family. You also will never see the same dentist. They do try and book you with the same hygienist is you're lucky enough not to get cancelled. They get two stars for their cleanliness and hygienists. Other than that, I'd go someplace else. I just had a few questions, I could have asked my DDS there, but the office lady who made the appointment suggested a 2nd opinion. So I said ok. I came in today, Dr Garcia, acted like he was bothered having to come in, and talk to me in the first place at $900 plus for a typical crown. I just had some questions on the way it was made, because it was extra short in front. Rather then just help me understand, he was rude, condescending, and even asked if I was married, I said no. He said that explains why, and the staff laughed. I was a new patient less than one year and spent a lot of money there already. If I cant ask a few questions, then I'm at the wrong Dentist. On my first appointment I had a cleaning, which was adequate. The office seems to be run a bit like an assembly line. For my second appointment they had cancelled my appointment without telling me. I was very impressed! They were fast, and efficient, and did a great job at a reasonable price. Yes, they have an" assembly line" way of doing business and it works very well for them. I've been going to Cooper Dental for 26 years. I no longer live in the area, but still make the drive from Orlando. I can't imagine going to any other dentist. Their dental plans are a great deal, and make more sense for me than paying for dental insurance. COVID-19 concerns: My 92 yr old mom has been a patient there for years, other than some appointment glitches, since I have been taking her to all her appointments, her care has been fine. She had an appointment today, when we arrived, we were the only 2 in the waiting area, we both had masks on andI was fully prepared to get her checked in and then wait in my car, but not necessary it seemed, although surprising. All the staff had masks, they were sanitizing and there was hand sanitizer available. Shortly after she was taken back for her appointment no less than 5 other patients came for their appointments and not one was wearing a mask, nor were they told to wear one! Seriously? I can't even get a haircut without a temp check and a mask. The other doctors and dentists I have been to recently ALL require a temp check and mask on entering and only the patient is allowed inside. Very irresponsible and disrespectful to others. read more

This office is large. Lots of hygienists and dentists. I found this very impersonal. I went there for 2 years and didn't see the same hygienist. They are very concerned with "their policies" and following them to be seen in their office. When I opted out of a panoramic X-ray they said I would not be seen in the future without it. Due to covid, I was unable to have a second cleaning under my contract time frame. I went for that second cleaning today and was told I would have to renew that contract. So they wanted me to pay for another contract while bot fulfilling the first one. I ended up leaving without the cleaning and now have been told, they will see what they can do. I used to be a patient here years ago but then I moved away. I had a toothache while I was in town visiting and I couldn't get an appointment with him because he was out of town however his new associates were fantastic and I felt right at home again. I'm moving back to Daytona so I hope to be able to start seeing Dr. Cooper again he's one of the best dentists I've ever had. Cant say enough good things about this practice. Staff is always courteous, professional, and they actually seem happy to work there. They send email and text reminders of appointments. I have never had more than a few minutes wait time in the waiting room. Most importantly, I have very sensitive teeth and the hygienists are always extremely gentle and careful not to hurt me. They also offer an in-house insurance plan for people who do not have private dental insurance. I went there initially on a Groupon and am very glad I found them. So we originally when here as a new patient and it was such a good deal to have your exam x-rays meet the doctor and your cleaning for $49 a person! At the time we didn't have dental insurance and it was such a good deal. They do offer preventative care plans which I think you're definitely good for people who just want to have cleanings and you get a discount on services so it's much cheaper than having Dental insurance for sure. The people seem really friendly and they did practice social distancing and PPE where when they open back up a few weeks ago which I felt a lot safer and it was very clean. They are very forthcoming with they charge a PPE charge during your services which I was totally fine with but some people might get annoyed with it but businesses have a right to charge because they were closed and they have to pay for all this extra protective equipment. It's not gonna last forever and it's better than raising the dental prices. I just wish that some of the dental hygienist could be a little more personable but I'm used to someone that I went to for several years we had aRelationship with. Very unhappy, I went in with a crown that had fallen out. I had a full set of x rays and an evaluation of my dental health and told I needed extractions and a bridge. I declined and ask about my crown. I was told that nothing could be done about it, I left 50 dollars lighter and went to Indigo dentist in Daytona the same day.
