They offered to give me a filling on 2 of my teeth right then and there ( one being the broken one and the one next to it that needed it) They talked me through it and reassured me every step of the way. Long story so I'll condense it. The office was very clean and I found the staff to be very nice and helpful. The hygienist, Kerry, put me at ease, while getting me prepped. Dr. Pinker was professional and took his time making sure that the area was numb. When he started working he explained what he was doing each step of the way. It all went smoothly, with some minor discomfort when he was removing the two nerves. Explaining that the other nerves were very close. Nothing major. He cleaned up the area and then put in a couple stitches. I wasn't sedated but had a few numbing injections and laughing gas. Two suggestions I would give him is, come in before we begin to prep and introduce himself. Because I think it'd be nice. And secondly, perhaps they should call the next day and ask how the patient is doing. I've always had the doctor or dentist do this when I lived elsewhere. Just a nice gesture. But, otherwise, I'm very pleased with my outcome.

But probably the deal breaker was that for a routine check up after the dental part of the appt. we would've had to wait SIX MONTHS for a cleaning. We've NEVER run into this kind of arrangement in our collective 140 year experience. One explanation, we thought, was that they couldn't hire or retain enough dental hygienists. And why is that? Are there not enough dental hygienists in St. Augustine, or does the practice not pay them enough or otherwise provide a miserable working experience? Who knows, and really we don't care. We are tired with tolerating drama anywhere for whatever reason, so we're going back to our "old" dentist in Orlando. We got two appts. about 10 days out from contacting them. The appt. includes a cleaning.
