** I'm going to tell you about the " other" dentistry that I was recommended to go to first** OMG,…read moretalk about a mistake that was!!! SOOO, after that fiasco, I called TOMOKA Family Dentistry. They were FANTASTIC!!! They actually LISTENED to what I wanted to have done not like the other place with THEY wanted done. Now, I have Humana and with them, there are times when any type of professional established has to be approved before you are seen. NOT Tomoka Dentistry. They even gave me a same day appointment!!! (because they had a cancellation) BUT, my next appointment was booked a lot sooner than other practices I've been to. Tomoka D. also took more new abdaptations and indepth pictures of my mouth. Dr. Schimenti was exceptional, very professional but down to earth type of person also. Her team (including the front desk personnel) were nice and friendly. They also told you what they were going to do before they began any work. Well, a week later, (WHAT? Earlier than most places) I was back in the chair getting my 2 new temporary front caps fitted. (I go back in 2 weeks, because of the holiday) And will have the permit ones fixed. I am extremely happy. It took 2 previous dentists to finally find the perfect one. Thank you Tomoka Dentistry 1-386-672-8175 (tomokafd@mydentalmail.com)

Just moved back to Florida and chose to go with Blossom Dental and Dr. Aljonaidy, as my father was…read moreextremely adamant on how great their service is and their modern expertise on dentistry. He was correct. First and foremost, the office isn't a typical, dingy office, that looks like a scene in Beetlejuice. This office is so clean, modern and up-to-date that it puts a sense of comfort in your mind when you walk in. Their equipment is modern, up-to-date and helps the flow of each patient visiting. I had x-rays and there was a machine that I had never seen before, that was much less painful than the typical bitewing x-rays, however, they offer both! The staff... there's not enough words in dictionary to describe how awesome the staff are here. From Dr. Aljonaidy all the way to Holly at the desk up front - each and every person talks to you and makes you comfortable being there... not just as if you're another patient in the cue. Unfortunately, on my visit I went in knowing I most likely had my first cavity at 28-years old. I was right... and also needed to have two teeth pulled because they were messing up my bite and jaw. I had so much anxiety going into this and I wasn't even put asleep for the extraction, but now I'm seeing I didn't need to be. The Dental Assistant and Dr. Aljonaidy did a great job of comforting me and talking me through the process, especially as I got uncomfortable with my anxiety throughout the procedure. I see reviews on here from people saying this place is "out for Sales." Here's my perspective on this. Any logical person goes to a Doctor or Dentist for a reason... I would hope that be in efforts to stay healthy. It's not an "upsell" as there's no "upsell" on your health. Your mouth and your teeth are not a car.. and I would hope you take pride in them, as Blossom Dental does in ensuring your dental hygiene is near perfect. If you don't want to take her advice, then don't. Simple as that. However, imagine Dr. Aljonaidy, being like any other "cookie cutter," Dentist, that just processes you like another patient going through the cue, with zero intention of giving you every option to make your smile perfect. If you want subpar, go to another Dentist. If you want exceptional, go to Blossom Dental. To end. Something that stood out to me about Dr. Aljonaidy. During my extraction procedure, we started talking about life and personal things and something she said to me is why I'm a loyal patron here, moving forward. We talked about the quarantine and I asked her what she had been doing during the quarantine and her answer was "learning and educating myself more because you can never know enough." I've never heard of a Dentist actively practicing to learn more on their time off in efforts to up their knowledge and skill base. For this reason alone, I highly encourage you if you're in the Central Florida area.. to go to Blossom Dental!

Okay. This is gonna be a long one, but if you're considering going here please hear me out. A…read morecouple of reviewers have said that this place is out for sales -- that is 100% true. I do not recommend Blossom Dental. I came in because I needed a cleaning before I had braces applied, and this was the first place I could find that was able to schedule me in time as other dentists were booked. I should've taken a hint there. The first problem happened when I called to schedule my appointment. I informed them that I had medical but not dental insurance, to which I was told they didn't accept medical insurance. When I filled out my forms, I put down my insurance information anyway. Sure enough, they accepted my insurance in the office. I'm not sure why the person on the phone told me otherwise. Not the biggest issue. It gets better. They told me that they needed to have x-rays on file. I've already had several dental x-rays in the past year. They told me I could have these sent in, so I had my orthodontist send them in. When I arrived at the office, I found out that apparently the dental x-rays I'd had sent in weren't good enough and I needed a special kind of x-ray taken (which of course, I'd have to pay for). They told me that they *legally* needed these x-rays (they don't). The dentist even came in and tried to push the x-rays on me (this was the only time I saw her -- she did not attend to me at all throughout my visit). I insisted on not having the x-rays taken as I was only in for a cleaning. Fortunately, I was able to stop them from taking an unnecessary x-ray and charging me hundreds of dollars for that. After the x-ray debacle, they started to poke my gums with this needle. It was painful and I'd never had this particular procedure done to me before. Turns out this was an "oral screening" (another unnecessary procedure that I did not ask for and ended up having to pay for). The most frustrating part about this was that they didn't tell me they were doing it, because I would have opted out. They literally just started doing it, because, you know, screw informed medical consent, right?Doesn't seem like good business practice to me to do something a customer doesn't ask for and charge them for it. It's actually very scammy, sneaky, and dishonest. That would never happen in a restaurant, or frankly any other business. Imagine you go to the grocery store and the cashier sneaks a couple extra "goodies" into your cart and charges you for them. Why is it acceptable here? After, they suggested some sort of cream that I could add to my toothpaste. I asked them to repeat the name (presumably so I could look it up and purchase it later), and they told me that they sold it there! Yay, upselling! After this revolutionary oral screening, I was left in the room for nearly 45 minutes by myself. No one came to check in on me or told me how long I'd have to wait. Finally, a hygienist came and brought me to another room to have my teeth cleaned (what I came in for!). And she scraped my teeth TO THE GODS. I have never, ever had my teeth scraped so much before during a routine cleaning. It hurt, there was blood on my bib, and it still hurt at the end of the day when I brushed and flossed my teeth. I mean, I suppose my teeth got clean, but do I have any enamel left? Who knows. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because I wanted clean teeth and, well, I did come out with clean teeth. If you insist on coming here, or if it's your only option, here's my advice: do your research beforehand. Do not accept any procedures that you know you don't need. You don't need an oral screening unless you're at risk for oral cancer (which most people aren't), and you don't need a random x-ray if you've recently been x-rayed. Do NOT come into Blossom Dental expecting honest doctors that will recommend what is best for you -- they just want to line their pockets with all these unnecessary procedures they do *without your consent.* If the owner sees this, I would really appreciate a refund for the oral screening that was done without my asking for it, knowledge of it, or consent.

Instead of removing or repairing her tooth they did extensive procedures and had her keep returning several times in the course of six weeks (meanwhile she was in terrible pain). They never removed the bad tooth but wanted to do costly surgery which would be several thousands of dollars!! Realizing this reputable dentist seemed like a scammer we located another, which was Coast Dental in Ormond Beach. They were incredible! They fully understood that removing the painful terrible tooth was the main priority and they got right on it. They didn't even attempt to do all the other procedures which might be important at a later date but were not important at the moment. And the dentist was so incredible that he removed the tooth without causing my wife any pain or discomfort at all... and that is rare since she normally despises dental visits because of her sensitive mouth which feels every little 'poke or jab' with high discomfort. We are so glad we went to Coast Dental and highly recommend them!
