While my truck was getting smogged, he was also dropping little gems and giving me helpful tips along the way, which I genuinely appreciated. That's the kind of stuff that sticks with people. Be careful. These people will tell you something may be wrong, charge you for the repair, then recharge you for a recheck. Scam. My wife brough our truck in for a smog check. They said it needs this and that. She wanted to take a video of what he said was wrong, then he slammed the hood nearly on her hands. She called me, I told her to leave right away, don't give them any money. We took the truck to a reputable smog station. I came upon this place by accident! The DMV did not send a renewal notice and I paid my registration online. This was my first time doing a renewal as I purchased the car from my brother in-law after my sister died. For whatever reason, the DMV did not provide a notice. I went to two other places before coming to Greenback Smog. My previous shop had relocated and when I showed up, I found out the previous owner had sold the business and the new owner could not do the STAR smog. He suggested two other locations, so on my third stop I was at Greenback Smog. There was a car wash there and I drove around the building to the front again and saw that one of the areas was for smog checks. I went in, sat down and watched the World Cup while my car was smogged. I found out that I didn't need the paperwork to do the smog and that the technician could look up my car and do the smog and send it to the DMV! Service was quick and painless.
