Luxe Auto is a fair, friendly place for auto maintenance. I've taken my Toyota there for oil changes and a smog check. Pricing was comparable to the prior ownership, when the shop was El Camino Smog and Repair. This was a relief, as El Camino had been servicing my car for years, and an ownership transition is always a gamble for the customer. They still offer a comprehensive, multi-point vehicle inspection included with oil and filter change services. One caveat, if you have a faulty TPMS sensor be sure to remind the shop to check your tire pressure before any other services are performed. This is a step that may be missed if they move forward in the inspection. I addressed this with the management and received a very kind, well thought-out reply. Jay, who is one of my favorite mechanics, still works there. Always a plus! I recommend this business. read more

Went in for my 90k maintenance. They happily omitted a few items upon my request since I took care of maintenance myself. When I got my car back, they notified me that the fuel filter they installed was faulty, but it was the only one they had at the time. When I had engine issues after leaving, they towed me back, Ubered me home, and drove me back to the shop when they fixed the issue the next day. On top of that, they threw in a few complimentary things to make it up to me. Truly the best auto service care I have ever received. My only regret is that I couldn't use them more often. read more

I walked into the shop on X-mas because I saw the garbage open. I asked them if they could do my breaks. They asked me a few questions and then told me they would check to see exactly what I needed. I asked for a low ans high price right away and explained that I am inexperienced and want to make sure I can trust the service and people I'm choosing to spend my money with. They explained that they are always at least $50 below market, they offer a warranty is 24 months or 24k miles something unique to auto repair shops. They provided all the information I needed and even information I didn't think to ask. He explained what's wrong with my breaks, what needed to be done after the inspection and was very transparent about the pricing and offered financing options knowing I couldn't really afford the cost on Christmas Eve! Guess what? He was the owner of the business who took the time to help me. So professional and kind and trustworthy. Since the ownership change, prices have become steeper and quality of service has declined. I had my check light come on mid summer; took car in to be fixed for some sensor(the engine was well working), fixed, charged 600 - complete! I thought. Two and a half weeks later, the same sensor is triggered, check engine light back on, and immediately I call and get told to come in early morning the next day. The service is confusing because the same sensors are in reading and I'm getting ALL kinds of speculations, even that they may have put on the incorrect part, etc. I was very overwhelmed because I wasn't given an estimate of how long it would take, i waited in the lobby for 4 hours, having to cancel important plans (including my bff bridal shower), was driven to my families residence(very considerate), received no call on if the car was finished. Finally I called and was told it was done. Had to wait 40 minutes for pickup. And I still am in the loop whether the sensor is fixed or "fixed." read more

Car was misfiring so i came in to get it diagnosed to see where the misfire was coming from. I get a call two days later from them informing me that someone poured washer fluid in my reservoir than proceeded to show me a video of my reservoir being full of washer fluid that they put in themselves. a couple days prior of me bringing my car to get diagnosed i was under my hood checking all my fluids thats how i know my reservoir had nothing in it at all. Now i have to deal with more problems because these people put washer fluid into my cooling system. These people are liars and scammers i wouldnt recommend to anyone!! read more

Luxe has treated me very well! I was skeptical at first with the name change as I was a big fan of El Camino Smog. But some of the same mechanics are still there! And the office management look different but speak perfect English. Love these guys as they fixed everything in my 2000 Ford F150! The alternator was the original problem. But I asked them to fix my A/C and my windshield wiper sprayers and they noticed that my tranmission was shifting very hard. I was worried about that too. And they found one that shifts like new! My truck is back on the road driving like almost new. Then I thought "why can't they fix my Ford Edge?" My Edge started making whiney gear noises while driving and crunchy noises when backing up! I was going to take it to the Ford dealership because I had a warranty on it. But Luxe said that they can do it! Ford is over $450 an hour and had some viral bug going on so I went with my new pals at Luxe! They drove it for a while and even bought a listening device to be sure they had zeroed in on the damaged part. They realized it was the rear differential and they ordered the part from Ford. My warranty covered over $4,000 for the replacement. Got it back yesterday and it is smoothe as ever!!! Thanks again guys at Luxe!!! By the way... they had my Ford F150 fixed just in time as my Edge was leaving me stranded. They are a very efficient group. I highly recommend them!!!! read more

If you need major repairs done LOOK ELSEWHERE! Went there for issues for my truck overheating and leaking. Each time after they "repaired" it there were still issues. We ended up just replaced a part to be proactive and it was okay for 3 weeks. Until the main radiator hose popped off while driving it causing all the fluid to drain and my truck to overheat. They then told me the thermostat was bad. Which made no sense since my initial diagnostic (which was not long before this incident) they said it was all good. So I had them replace my t-stat and they said everything was fine there was no leaking or overheating after they replaced it. KEEPING IN MIND THIS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AFTER THE RADIATOR HOSE POPPED OFF. I took the truck home that night and noticed it was still leaking. I took it back immediately the next day it was open only for them to say they overfilled the it. They drained some of the coolant and said my truck was good. So upset, I went to get a second opinion and found out all the radiator hose clamps were loose and it was 1/2 a gallon low on coolant. I was advised by my 2nd opinion mechanic to go back for a hydrocarbon testing in 30 days to ensure I didn't have a failed head gasket DUE to my truck overheating and leaking from the radiator hose clamps being loose. 30 days later I had it test and it came back that I do in fact have a failed head gasket and the Luxe staff and owner refused to acknowledge and/or pay for the damages they cause. They had my truck towed to their shop to diagnose it 11/15 at night. I saw them do a combustion test and record it on a phone but they of course didn't provide me any details. When I asked them about the results of the combustion test the employee said they couldnt tell it was to cold. Let's not forget how unprofessional the owner is! I was told to go to the shop at 8 am the next morning to run a diagnostic he didn't show up. It was half an hour later when an employee said he wouldn't be in until 10. They said they were going to run a diagnostic, that never happened they just looked at it and I went over the chronological timeline of what happened and he just said contact the BAR and let them decide if LUXE is at fault. What's even more petty I told the owner he needs to pay for the tow to the mechanic I am getting my truck ACTUALLY REPAIRED at and he had it towed to my home. Knowing that my truck shouldn't be driven. These people don't care about your car. That was evident when one of the mechanics slammed the garage door on the bed of my truck the night they had it towed. This place is a joke! Save your time, money and peace of mind. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. read more

this used to be a great shop! new owners and everything good went with it... needed a diag and after a 1400$ quote, I chose to pay the $225 diag fee only and do the work myself. (egr valve and temp sensor) putting it all together just a week before I knew these parts were good but.... maybe I was wrong? after all I paid for their diag/opinion so... yeah they were wrong and it cost me $900 with same issues. I know diag can be "hard" but parts cannon is a bad practice! this is a lube place and not a mechanic shop. sad to see new owners make a great place horrible so fast! are there and good real mechanics left out there? read more

I was referred here by Clay's Automotive after Clay reached the end of his tether with my car. For a couple of years, I continued to have the same probelm with my car over and over and over again. I would fork out hundred of dollars over and over again, just to have my check engine light come back on over and over again. So frustrating. El Camino Smog and Repair FINALLY figured out what was going on. And because I had to come back so many times due to the same problem (just like I had with other companies), they didn't charge me for the time it took to figure out the problem, and they didn't charge me labor for a lot of it (unlike other companies). I sent them an email on Monday night to see if I can get an appointment and I got a response the next morning. I took my 19y/o Honda Accord for a smog inspection. As soon as I entered the office, they greeted me with a smile and asked me what they can help me with. To make the story short, all the guys that work there are very professional and easy going people. My car passed the smog inspection and so happy about the great service I received from them. If you want your car repaired and want it repaired right the first time, this is the place to go! I've know Arne for over 20 years and have always had the greatest respect for his skills, but with a team like Arne, Jay & Mike you can't loose. My daughters Dodge van died and would not restart, the only shops in town that would look at it were the dealers or El Camino Smog and Repair. Even though it was over a 10 mile tow, I had the van taken to EC S&R they found out that the van conversion company (the van is a wheelchair van) had not completely plugged in one of the many computer connections which had finally worked it way completely loose causing the problem. This problem was buried deep in the wiring system and I'm sure that the Dealer would have charged me diagnostic time and for a new computer. Instead my total bill was just over $300 and the van works great. I can't recommend these guys enough! read more
