I understand completely, but my issue is when I took my truck in all that was said to me when I picked it up was everything's all good and done And we talked about the price and then you guys lowered it but no one ever gave me the Rundown about the issues if so, I would've said something but it wasn't until I called today and I talked to you to find out what was going on because my AC wasn't working then you gave me the rundown on the report, but that was my first time hearing it. If you got cameras, just check your cameras who was the one that didn't give me the rundown and sent me on my way without the info. I got today. I stand on my review. Have a great day. read more

Pretty quick service with clear communication. Everything is explained very well and you don't leave second guessing about your vehicle.

I came into Garage 47 because I had an oil leak and wanted a second opinion. I already had a good idea of where the leak was coming from, but I wanted to see how honest they were before committing to future work. I was completely fine paying the ~$100 inspection fee because if a shop is honest, that's worth it especially since I was looking for a long-term mechanic. During the visit, I told them the dealership "couldn't figure out where the leak was coming from," even though I had a rough idea based on other opinions, but I wanted a second opinion. I wanted to see how they handled it. They ended up quoting $575 for a valve cover gasket replacement, which is extremely overpriced. On top of that, they tried to add another $550 for an oil pan replacement. But that's not all, they had extreme high card card fees that the rough total was over $1,000 The dealership offered me a better deal of $1,000 all together including taxes and fees It honestly felt like they were trying to upsell unnecessary or overpriced work. They also made it seem like the dealership didn't know what they were doing, which felt more like a tactic than honesty. I declined all the work and left. I then went to S Auto Shop, (another private owned shop) where I had the same valve cover gasket replaced for $140 a massive difference. The owner laughed and said a valve cover gasket costs about $40 and he charged $100 per hour hence $140. He later said he'll hook me up with his buddies who would charge $200-$300 for a oil pan replacement. I don't mind paying for quality work, but transparency and fair pricing matter. Unfortunately, this experience didn't feel honest, and I won't be returning. The only reason this became an issue is because they charged me more than a car dealership does. read more

The team was very open and honest about their pricing--no surprises, which I really appreciated. While I was there, I also asked about a persistent issue with my car window that I've had "fixed" several times at other shops, but it kept breaking. The technician (I believe his name was Jay) was incredibly patient, took the time to thoroughly look into it, and gave me the clearest explanation I've gotten so far about what might really be going on. Unfortunately, after many years of going to Garage 47, we will not be going back. Had leaks from my car, they said it was the water pump which needed to be replaced. $1200 and two weeks later, still had leaks and then car overheated. Dropped the car off and they said the radiator was cracked and must be replaced (another $1200). After we investigated the problem, it was a cracked radiator filler neck ($25 part). Garage 47 should have initially explained that they diagnosed the need to replace the radiator due to the age of the car AND given us a choice; fix the part only or replace the radiator. Makes us wonder if the water pump ever needed to be replaced! The service at Garage 47 has been declining for several years. We always thought they were a honest garage, but no more. Extremely unhappy. read more

I've been taking my 2010 Prius since the Purchase Maintenance Deal with dealer expired. Garage 47 staff analyzes your car, recommends essential repairs showing prof of worn parts etc. in last case my 12 V battery was completely dead, they recharged it and reminded me of recommended transmission fluid maintenance, which I authorized. They are very thorough and quick and priced very fair. I recommended them to friends. read more

I am extremely disappointed that in 5 years of coming to Garage 47, with servicing 5 cars in our household, that I recently had a diagnostic done on my 02 Ford Explorer. Their diagnostic revealed nothing and when I asked what diagnostic entails, was pretty nebulous in response. Essentially, looking for codes. It coast me $170. I've always questioned why their diagnostics weren't credited to future repair services, but, was told that they, "have to pay my guys." So, I assumed it was a newer industry standard, post Pandemic. It has come to my attention that this is NOT the case for every repair shop. I'm taking my Ford Explorer in for ANOTHER diagnostic at a transmission specialist for yet another fee, theirs is $130. Apparently, I DON'T have to wait for the car to fail again and risk a worse outcome. If they don't find the problem, they don't charge, if they do ascertain the problem that diagnostic fee will be credited to my overall repair bill. Perhaps it is my fault, not doing due diligence and for believing that Garage 47 is reputable, trustworthy and fair. As a side note, all needed future work on the 02 Ford Explorer, that was quoted by Garage 47 was, quoted for significantly less at another well known neighborhood car repair shop. I am very saddened, that I'll have to leave Garage 47, as I'd believed that me and my family had a cordial, fair and trustworthy relationship with Garage 47. read more

These guys rock. My engine was a disaster and couldn't be repaired. In less than five days with two being the weekend located and installed an engine with considerably fewer miles than mine. They kept me informed throughout the process. They list suggested repairs with associated costs that you can accept or decline. Photos and explanations of the suggestions. I hate dealing w/ mechanics, but @ Garage 47, they are easy to talk to. I appreciate their honesty and getting my car fixed quickly. I had my car dropped off right before they closed on Friday so they couldn't do anything that day. They are closed on the weekend which was a small bummer. By 10am on Monday, I had their recommendations. I approved on some of their recommendations. By 1:30pm, I got the text that my car was ready. Service was overall good with one issue. I noticed several screws missing from a few wheel wells. Mechanic stated the only one he knew about was the left, rear wheel. He stated that when taking off the screw (to remove an access panel) to change the rear shocks, the screw broke. This happened on 3/11/24. I was never told and I asked him on 3/25/24 what happened to the screws. Mechanic stated I did not need the screws. I disagree. If I do not need the screws why would the company that built the vehicle include the screws? read more

some time back, I took my car there, it was my go to place. However, they really let me down. I was charged about $850 for the work they did but, they didn't fix my problem. Great garage fast and honest. They send you estimate on repair with helpful cost break gown by text and by email. They will keep up to date on progress without having to call them. Great communication through the entire repair process. Service has been fast. Location is clean and easy to find. All repairs are also documented by photos. They have a computer system that tracks all of the service done in the past. I also had warranty work done by them either zero dress or hassle. Great great service. I came to Garage 47 to have my transmission serviced and it was really hard to find a shop to work on mine since it's my car had over 100,000 miles on it and yes, I had my transmission serviced prior I just happened to misplace the paperwork and the place I went to is no longer in business. I contacted Garage 47 and they were able to work on my transmission and though it was odd that other places wouldn't to the work without proof. Anyways, this place is awesome. When you walk in its not like your like your average mechanic shop inside it's super relaxing. Yes, I said relaxing they have the inside dimly lit and candles burning and it smells go good inside! Colton, if I remember correctly is who helped me and is very professional they show you photos of the work that needs to be done and gives you before and after photos. They prices are very good and the service is great! It's was nice not having to go to a chain auto shop too! I highly recommend Garage 47 for you auto work. I'll definitely be back when I need work done. They are very informative and will keep in touch with you if you drop your vehicle off as well! Many Auto shop can learn something from them. read more

I was so pleasantly surprised at how much time the owner and manager took explaining the issues my dad's truck had and the options to take care of it. Mechanics usually suck in my opinion. From constantly getting up-sold to stuff I don't really need, to just flat out being lied to, and all that wrapped up with the fact that they're usually some of the worst customer-service people you'll ever encounter. Garage 47 and the owner Steve, are the complete opposite of that ^^ These guys are awesome! I've been taking my vehicles to Steve for years now, and have always had the best experience. I've never felt like I was being up-sold at his garage, and he always makes sure that I feel 100% comfortable with whatever service I've decided to have done there. They warranty their work and don't try to cut corners. They even take pictures of work they recommend having done and go over them with you prior to having the work done, which I think is great. Best of all, you'll receive great customer-service and you can leave there with piece of mind that your vehicle is in good hands. I've gone here a couple of times and the people seem to know what they're doing and were able to diagnose my problem really fast. I was able to get my car back after a full day (with an appointment), however, they did have to troubleshoot it. *The Price* 4/5 The diagnostic was not the 70$ that was listed, I was charged 87$. The parts I was charged seemed to be around 100$ more than online for a new eg. Replaced a power steering pump a "New 98-5419CQ" which runs for 299$, was charged 399$. But it was cool that they listed the model number on the ticket. So the total was a little more than 600$ to replace a power steering pump/flush, which seems a little high but acceptable. * Practices* 5/5 They were very honest about the repairs, trying to make sure I knew exactly what was being done to the car as well as dispel my own theories on what the issues could be. They also listed the model number of the parts they're using to replace on my car, which I thought was cool. They also use emails and are very tech-friendly as they will send you emails with updates on the repairs/information about the repair in real-time. *Results* 3/5 The car works great. The issue went away, the only thing that bothers me is that there was a strong cigarette smell when I got my car back, and it makes me believe that one of the mechanics was possibly smoking inside the car. read more

When I brought my car in a man told me to come back with my father or brother or "whoever would actually be dealing with this." Which I found extremely sexist and unprofessional. Steve responded to my original review saying I hadn't been there in years and brought in my own parts and also was confused on the process of how a mechanic shop runs. FALSE. I came in after a fender bender to see what they could do because the hood was crunched and I couldn't open it to change my own oil (as a woman *gasp*). They wouldn't even talk to me so I left and never returned or had ANY kind of work done. Thanks for trying to discredit my bad review Steve! And thanks for being sexist once again. This seems like the kind of place that would ask what a woman was wearing or if they were drunk at the time. -3/10 would not recommend. read more

This guy wants 400 dollars for brakes .Didnt even look at the car and didnt need new rotors or anything He just judged me because i wasnt in a new car so he didnt want to service me ..He took one look at me and said a brake job was for 400 dollars just for the front brakes smh never go here hes worse than the dealership. I live right around the corner and never thought to come to this shop because I was afraid it was overpriced. I was WRONG!!! I called and Colton answered the phone. He was so helpful and got me a quote for my headlight as well as the driver's side mirror I needed replaced. They didn't have my part but ordered it for me! The headlight change was painless, despite being scared about it by other auto shops who said it would cost $120 per BULB!! I was able to change my headlight for only $41!! So cheap. I'm super thankful and they were so fast!! Also, Idk if this matters to everyone but, it does to me, it was SO CLEAN! I loved that it was an auto repair shop but it didn't smell or look like one inside the office. It was clean!! So refreshing to see a business just look so well kept!! Anyways great place! I'm a DIY mechanic but when I ran into a diagnosing issue that was over my head I brought it to these guys because they had a very reasonable diagnostic fee. They were able to find that rats had chewed through my wiring harness (which I would have never found) and fixed it within hours. Update: I was sitting in a smog shop across the street from their shop and literally right in the middle of me writing this review the smog tech came in a said my shifter was stuck in reverse and had no idea why. I walked across the street back to Garage 47 and 2 guys came over right away and figured out the issue in less than 5 min and I was back on the road. Terrific customer service. As a woman I have been to a lot of mechanics who don't treat me properly. At garage 47 I received some of the best treatment I've ever had. Mechanics are intelligent and polite, they treated me with the upmost respect, they were incredibly informative. Their diagnostic charges were fair, they even lowered them one time because it took less labor instead of charging me the two hours I originally signed up for. Had they not told me that I would've paid them for the two hours without question. There are no high-pressure sales tactics here. If you come for a diagnostic, but can't afford the work quite yet, do not expect them to be rude, or roll their eyes, or try to pressure you to get to work done anyways. They also have insanely good communication. Text and are extremely communicative. 10 out of 10 would recommend to all my friends and strangers as well. read more

Great service - going to be bringing my Prius & my F250 here again. Brought my Prius in to get both HID headlight bulbs replaced. These guys quoted me way under what the Toyota dealership guys had quoted me. Also needed to get my tires replaced and they had them ordered and changed out and rotated same day. They even noticed one of my break lights was out and replaced for me. Called in the morning, dropped my car off right after - they had everything fixed & ready to go that same afternoon. I was a Saturday morning walk in ...... failed my 8 am SMOG, due to a collapsed vacuum / emissions hose on a 2003 Ford Explorer.
