The owner is a crook. I stopped by to purchase a quart of oil to top off my vehicle as the alert showed up on my screen. I had a car full of kids and had somewhere to be, so I stopped by to see if Green Valley Garage could sell me a quart. The owner offered to have someone help me put it in. Thinking "how nice" I agreed. It took them less than a minute and the owner rang me up for $110. He made sure to mention my "fancy car". I didn't even look at the receipt until much later. I hope you enjoyed a nice lunch at the expense of my family. It's the last thing you'll ever get from us. Green Valley Garage located in Monrovia off of Fingerboard rd has been around for many many years. Their way of doing business is very traditional. They run their gas station service center much like how my grandparents used to tell me times used to be. You drive up to the pump a guy comes out gases up your car and cleans your windshield. If you ask I'm sure they would even check your oil. The folks there are extremely friendly and greet you on a first name basis just as soon as they see you. They are really polite and really down to earth. They will talk to you about anything and have lots of great stories to tell you. They also offer auto and light truck repair. Run far away from these folks. Never again. the repair that this shop provided Broke an air condition line. When I asked about This mechanical mistake ....the blank stare and the comment "the air conditioning is in the front" dismissal. Infuriated me. After following up ....the rear AC compressor line was severed when the fuel tank was moved for a fuel pump installation. Run far away from these folks. Go**amit I'am really angry with this shop. My tire had a nail in it and I was calling around for someone to fix it for me because it's been leaking air for a few days. Every other place I called they wanted $50 or $60 just to take the nail out of my tire and patch it up but then I called Green Valley garage and they were super nice and told me that I can just pull up and they'll take care of it. Before calling them I did read the reviews and I was kind of nervous because most of the reviews aren't too good but I just need my tire fixed. They only charge $24 to take the nail out of my tire and patch it up as I was waiting for my tire to be fixed. The owner was very very nice to me. He made conversation with me which made time go by quicker, he was just very friendly and easy to speak to, and as I was looking up at their board with all the prices on it I was very shocked on how cheap everything was. I noticed that they don't charge as much as other auto shops. I went there on September 20, 2022 but now I have time to actually write a review for them. Have to be one cold adult to turn kids away with money to pay for a little air in the tires. Then lie and say their pumps won't work on bikes. Things are different from when I was a child. My cars won't go to this shop. Such a shame! read more

Dropped a car off from out of state that needed an inspection. Had it completed the next day (I dropped it at closing time). No "bogus" repairs needed (Maryland inspections are famous for this). Very courteous and genuinely nice. read more

EDIT: I posted a review on several sites and after a response from the shop I gave them a call. I spoke with Ron and he spent a good 15 minutes talking to me about the shops philosophy and why they did the work they did. In the end, I went in and spoke with Ron in person and he was able to make me feel very taken care of and offered some advice on what else we could do. I appreciated the effort from them to work it out and address the issues I had. read more

We brought our sons car (1999 Mazda) with the problem "it doesn't always go into park" . There was a light on also, so could they check both? "Sure"They they said. They didn't look at it until 3 days later, and only after my "husband" called them. My phone calls were not productive. They Said it needed spark plugs. Spark plug wires and a celinoid. They couldn't work on the transmission ( we dont do that) and we'd have to take it elsewhere for that. The cost? $1050...and it wouldn't fix the problem that we brought it in for. "Why didn't you tell us you didn't fix transmissions?" I asked them, when we came up to pick up the car. .. We would never have left it here! (i added) No answer. A downward gaze when we came to just pick up the car. Took it to AAA....nothing wrong with spark plugs/wires or celinoid. Needs a new shift rod. When "Ron" ran his own station, it used to have integrity. This time we dealt with "Tom" the manager. Had issues with him with other vehicles. They supposedly fixed a van that broke down the following week and was irreparable. (after over $1000 work) Never bringing any of our cars there again. We've been customers fooval out 20 years! Shame what happens when the cat's away. Too bad for Ron, he was a nice guy. These guys working for him are ripping people off. read more

We asked them to give us a quote on a certain noise we were hearing. They came back with a list of other things that were apparently in great need of repair and a quote of a thousand dollars. When we came to pick up the car the next day the bill was $1500!!! We asked why the bill was much higher and they said that $1500 was always the quote price and we miss heard them. I don't think anyone can mishear a $500 price difference. After a month the noise is back, what did they fix and what did we pay for?!?! These people can not be trusted. We were even dealing with the manager Tom who could care less about trying to keep our future business and just wanted to make a fast buck. read more
