I ordered the tofu pad si ew and it was alright! Very cheap prices, you get what you pay for. My biggest gripe was probably the ambience. As soon as I walked into the restaurant it smelled like shit...like, literal human feces. Probably a questionable choice on my part to dine in anyway, but I was starving. The lighting and seating aren't exactly welcoming either. The staff were short with me, but not unkind. I went here a lot 1-3 years ago, but stopped because the waitstaff was a little not so nice. As well as the building was in disrepair. I just recently stopped a couple times in the last few weeks and the waitstaff was kind and she actually smiled :) The bathroom floors have been fixed and its well noticed. Still not a beautiful place, but the food was spot on and the repairs as well as the waitress and her son were both pleasant! wtg! will be back as a regular again. First off, I'd like to say that I usually order take out and I don't eat in often. When I do, the dishes are pretty good and definitely fresher than take out. I found that if you order later at night or around lunch time, the food is subpar. It's a hit or miss. Their curries tastes the same. The Pad Thai usually has dissolved specks of rock sugar. Plus all their meat are covered in batter and fried before being cooked again in another dish. I don't love this place anymore and it's sad because I really want to. read more

Ordered take out for lunch today, moo goo gai pan extra spicy. When I got home no added heat (normally you can see at least the pepper oil sauce mixed in. That was not the end of the world, but when I started eating it, half the chicken pieces were slimy and not cooked through Actual raw chicken, I pitched the dish after eating some then inspecting the "raw chicken" pieces, translucent in the middle. How can a restaurant serve raw chick? Very disappointing, health department may need to take a look. read more

I wouldn't even give them one star but their doors are open and they do have food. As soon as we sat down for lunch at 2:15 we were told they were closing at 2:30. The waitress was very impatient coming back in less than a minute to take our order and expressed disdain when we weren't ready to order yet. She then reminded us they close at 2:30. Menu says closes at 3? She was eating lunch with the rest of the staff when we were ready to pay. We had to bring check to counter and box our own food. Then she announced that it was time for us to leave and she would unlock the door for us. How accommodating. We told them we wouldn't return due to the rude treatment from the jump. Really a hit or a miss place. The upside is that it's cheap. I mean dirt-cheap. The downside is that the food really varies. Anything with noodles is a go, anything with a rice you might want to avoid. Especially the fried rice. If you know what to get, it really can be a hidden gem. SHOCKING SERVICE -- VERY RUDE STAFF!!!!!! This was the most bizarre restaurant experience I had in my life... My husband and I were actually chased out of this restaurant by our waitress and chef! We ordered Pad Thai and requested the dish to be spicy... The Pad Thai that we were served was much, MUCH too sweet so we politely requested for it to be spiced up a little. Our request unleashed their wrath!! They insisted that Pad Thai should be that sweet and that we didn't know what we were talking about. After the chef waved his hand at us in disgust and retreated to the kitchen, the server/hostess immediately opened the cash drawer to give us our money back (which we never asked for--we just wanted it spiced up). Had I written this review three days earlier, this would have been a five-star experience. The place is quaint, if not a little plain, but the food is great, hot, and authentic for the price. (Discounts available for college students.) My friends (some of which include Vegan) frequent here about once a month, and I am an avid take-out customer. However, I had an issue yesterday that wholly changed my view point in regards to customer service. I was double charged on my card for my to-go order. No big deal, I called, the waitress apologized, told me to bring in my receipts, and they would refund me. I went in after work today, brought two bank statements with me, and they argued with me, refusing to refund my card, regardless of the proof. I'm quite unhappy with both the added charge, and with the amount of time I've had to put into this for an error on their part, only to be argued with. (When I calmly went into to speak to the owner, the entire family came out. I'm not sure if this was a psychological ploy or what, but it was slightly awkward and I didn't appreciate feeling ganged up on.) Sadly, because of this experience, my time will be spent finding another place for take-out. read more

There are things I don't eat, so I asked for plain fried tofu and steamed broccoli and 'tracy' (asian lady who appeared to be in charge) says they can't just make that and it came with brown sauce. So I repeated I just wanted fried tofu and broccoli that could be in oil or soy sauce, but not their prepared brown sauce and she repeated that they wouldn't do that and walked away. So I left! Green Tea is the best of its kind. This family establishment has been a staple of SP for awhile now and thank god for that! While many of my other SP favs have come and gone, Green Tea soldiers on. Green Tea serves up an astounding variety of hot, fast Chinese food as well as a nice variety of curries ( all offered at a spice level of 1-5) and delicious apps, all served quickly and with a smile. Green Tea is also one of the best deals in town, especially the lunch specials which hover in the 5-7 dollar range for an ample meal. Pad Thai, so runny and the chicken was breaded, soggy. Fried rice was yellow and tasteless. Hot and sour soup wasn't bad. Sesame chicken, more breading than chicken. The server also argued with a guy sitting at a table next to ours (who was supper polite) because the chicken he ordered was wayyyyyy over done (and it was), it looked inedible. The server tried explaining that it looked over done because of soy sauce but clearly that wasn't the case. The guy ended up paying for the dish he barely tasted. We had a little bit of the pad Thai and a bit of the sesame chicken and our stomachs are rumbling. read more

Youu have to try hard to cook that badly! General Tso chicken had the skin of a petrified rhino. The other dishes had an animal funk that just couldn't be placed by everyone at the table. It wasn't busy, which was nice, because we came, ate, and talked for a little bit without feeling rushed to leave. I paid just over $10 for my food and tip. I'm not a regular diner in Stevens Point. I may have eaten breakfast once or twice in that city, but that's about it. What I have eaten has been pretty standard Midwestern fare. Last weekend, I found myself in town at dinner time. A quick Yelp consultation and an unholy desire for noodles led me quickly to Green Tea. As the other reviewers already said, the food was pretty good. Nonetheless, want to point out a couple of things that the other reviewers seemed to skip over: 1) Dress warm! When I was there, the servers were really pushing the hot tea and I'm fairly sure it was because their accounting whiz figured out that it's cheaper to keep the heat set at 51 and give out copious amounts of tea than to properly heat a drafty old space such as this one. Of course, the heat might just have been broken that night; 2) Don't expect beauty. This is an old building and the owners of Green Tea have certainly gone with a "minimalist" (read: f'ugly) approach to decorating.They do, however, have that creepy hutch thing that so many Chinese restaurant owners seem fond of; 3) Beware the mystery meat in the hot and sour soup. I think that warning should suffice; 4) Did I mention dressing for game-day conditions? Seriously, wear your long johns, smart-wool scarves and Boris and Natasha hats. Really, the food's not bad though, so if you heed my warnings you should come out alright. One final thought: I'm really not sure how this place qualifies as "Asian Fusion," unless it's meant to signify that they have both Chinese and Thai options. Buen provecho! read more

I was so excited to find this restaurant in Stevens Point. I always got chicken pad thai (boring, I know), but it was always delicious, and the huge portion left me with plenty of leftovers. Green Tea is a great noodle & curry place, we get take out all the time and dine-in occasionally. The decor and furniture is a bit outdated but the staff is always friendly and service is quick. You can enjoy complimentary green tea with your meal, but they do not serve alcohol in any form, which makes this more of a lunch spot for us - plus the lunchtime menu prices are very reasonable. When walking in off the street and ordering "to-go" it is amazingly fast - easily less than a five-ten minute wait (even at noon).
