We were there this afternoon and owner ask for our order. My friend ordered for one food because we were still waiting for some of our friends to come. The owner was not so please so she started getting the menu list in our table in a very rude way. Then my friend confronted her why she's acting that way and she just ask us why one order only. Well, my friend told her we are still waiting for her husband and some friends to come. She didn't like it and ask us to leave her restaurant. This is my all-time favorite Chinese restaurant, hands down! When I was in college, I would eat here twice a week and I'm jealous of anyone who lives in Stevens Point and gets to eat here regularly. I would definitely recommend the sesame chicken, egg foo young, egg rolls (which are more like spring rolls), and crab rangoon. We get Chinese food at the Green Tea, along with other Chinese food restaurants in our area. I find their sautes a bit on the sweet side, but I like their chicken wings and fingers, and their lo-mein. read more

The space Green Tea is in I know well. I took piano lessons there at least some 20 years ago, then it became China Star, and finally Green Tea. I have not been able to find a better mix of a menu and friendlier staff. I've always been a fan of their musaman curry, and luckily they always make very spicy, just the way I like it. You could literally order anything off the menu and it is sure to be delicious. My only qualm is that often if you are seated, you'll always be placed next to the only other occupied table in the restaurant. If you go to a restaurant for the experience this is probably not the place for you BUT if you are going for quality Asian food Green Tea is the best place in Stevens Point. I love the General Tso's chicken and the free egg rolls that come with the meals. It is always surprising to me that the place isn't busier than it is. Just means faster service. Not sure about the complaint of it being cold. I eat here every 6 weeks or so and I've never noticed it being cold other than during Winter and everything is cold then. read more

Hardly the best Thai or Chinese food! The chicken in my Thai basil dish had a weird coating on it and my fried rice was just yellow rice...no egg or green onion. I don't even think it was fried! I did enjoy my cup of hot and sour soup. My husband said his cashew chicken was bland. The complimentary fortune cookie was stale. Service was FAST...too fast. Fantastic food! I should have written earlier, I have been going to Green Tea for quite some time (particularly since I went back to school and they offer a student discount). I am vegan, and so Asian food is usually my best choice when eating out, and my kids love it too. I particularly recommend the "Red Cook Tofu" and the "Ma Po Tofu," I would love to have the coconut curry, but it is not vegan here, oh well, they have lots of good vegan options, so it's not a big deal. The restaurant itself does not look like much, but the food makes up for it. I decided I had to write a review after going to a different Chinese restaurant because GT was closed on Sunday. Big mistake: way more expense, long wait for food, crabby personnel. No thank you! I will stick to GT from now on, GT has the great prices, great food, and no one has ever been rude or crabby with me. I hope anyone visiting doesn't get drawn into a inferior restaurant just because it looks a little fancier. This is a great little hole in the wall, quite a gem! read more

I've gone out to eat here countless times with my family, and have always been pleased. I have a few choices I really like (hunan tofu being one). I'm not sure why some of the other reviewers had trouble getting their preferences accommodated, since I'm sorta picky/particular and have never had any problems with special requests.. maybe poor communication abilities and impatience (?).. (and I don't mean on the side of Tracey, or the waitstaff). The service is always quick, and they're great about remembering your orders, and will even remember something you might have forgotten to mention while ordering (such as a picky request), if you become a regular. Went there for lunch last week after reading the rave reviews on Yelp! I think the reviews are based on only comparing to local restaurants, because to me, this is your "average" chinese restaurant that you'll find in any other city. Had food from the lunch menu, which included a spring roll. The spring roll was extra greasy and the main meal was average. If you're from out of town and wanting to go here, please take into consideration that the reviews are based on comparisons to local restaurants. read more

Really good and unique (for the area) menu... I've been told that you can get incredibly spicy food here, however I haven't experienced it. Whenever I've asked for 5/5 spiciness it's never spicier than 2/5... I've heard you have to tell them you want them to set your mouth on fire in order to get the really spicy stuff... I tried that once and it was about a 3/5 spicy... Still really REALLY yummy! read more

I have always come here for the tasty food for the last 5 years. But something happened that caused me to never come back. The head woman (I've always seen her working here for years, very in charge) had walked up to a table behind us to ask what they would like to drink. It was a particularly freezing day outside, so the older gentleman asked if he could just have a plain cup of hot water. He was VERY friendly. She said that they could not and all they had was tea that was hot. He asked if they could just heat some water for him as that was all he needed and couldn't drink tea. She literally argued with him telling him no, they could not. He said that he didn't understand, could they not just boil him some water, use the hot setting on the faucet, or even microwave it? Nope. She did not have it. It didn't matter if he was elderly or that it wouldn't cost her anything but a bit of time, she was absolutely against doing so and walked away. A young college kid working there (extremely friendly) had walked by and the older man had asked him if maybe he could get him some hot water. I could just see that kid struggle after saying he can see what he can do. The woman stopped him behind the counter and went off on him. She completely exploded. All he did was quietly nod and say he understands. I have witnessed her prickly behavior before but this was just too much. Will never be coming back. read more
