I have been coming here for years! Family owned and service is always so great. I've tried about almost everything on the menu and it's so good. I even introduced many people to their menudo and this is their go to place now. Must try this place! I must say though, I do wish they would bring back their lettuce wrapped GREEN TACOS. That is what they are named after. It was such a healthy choice and so delicious. Nothing like it around. It helped me so much during my weight loss journey. Please bring them back! read more

Outstanding dining experience I believe that I am in love There is nothing finer than to have your tastebuds and your appetite satisfied at the same time other than doing so in a clean and pleasant atmosphere. This is my first time so I relied on reviews and wow! I ordered the 4 Taquitos Plate and it far superseded what I read. The taquitos were crispy and tasty and the best I've had in Riverside hands down in a decade! Griselda and Ruben are two very pleasant employees who obviously care about the customers. The bathroom was immaculate and fresh as was the dining area, tables, floors, and chairs included. The music was appropriate and not too loud. Beef taquitos and cheese enchiladas again. Always good. The rice and beans are always on point. We ordered some beef taquitos with nothing on them, no lettuce, no sour cream, no rice or beans to go for a picky eater that that never finishes his food. He tore them up! LOL. I had the menudo and it was amazing! It was authentic the way my mom used to make it. It was not fatty or greasy. It comes with all the authentic trimmings and tortillas. It's definitely enough for 2 people or you can save the leftovers for later! Highly recommend! read more

If you're considering stopping by I highly recommend this restaurant not only is the food 10/10 but the customer service is even better! It's hard to come across ppl that truly enjoy what they do for a living. Trust me when I say the family who runs this business is always smiling & happy to be serving their customers. You will always be greeted when you walk in & thanked on your way out. My boyfriend & I came across this gem early last year & ever since then we go twice if not 3 times a month for breakfast. I found this place because my favorite go to was not open yet. I've noticed them on my way home so many times and never stopped until this morning. My oh my! Felt like I was being fed at my moms house. Friendly, great taste, yummy spicy salsas. We ordered the machaca burrito and chorizo burrito. Our server said 7-10 minutes and he was spot on. Paid with a card. Looked like they took Apple Pay too by the looks of the unit they used. We will most definitely try more of the menu next time. Saw people enjoying the menudo and it looked amazing. I search yelp for highly rated Mexican food in Riverside and ring taco appeared. I look at the photos and my mouth watered so I went. I ordered two tacos, Carne Asada and fish and their famously spoken about Menudo. I got it home. I ate it and I was very very pleased, the Menudo was so filled with tripe the young lady working there asked me would I like harmony in my Menudo I was actually able to tell her how much harmony I wanted in my Menudo fantastic place. read more

Such a great little spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner with amazing prices. Everything tastes really fresh and I don't feel gross and heavy when I'm done eating. The quality of the food is top notch and there are options for everyone. I love their chilequiles and their tacos. The restaurant itself is also extremely clean and I love the bright, and colorful atmosphere. I am always appreciative of the staff, they're very kind and attentive. My advice: Get what they're known for, the "green taco". Get your palate ready for a mixture of flavors and textures that you have long desired. My girlfriend and I ordered 2 asada green tacos, 2 shrimp green tacos, and 2 pastor regular tacos.. eaten in that exact order. DO accept and try both the green and the red sauce they give you, after tasting them you'll find out why :). It was love at first bite as soon as we tried our first green tacos. I normally don't like iceberg type lettuce (I prefer darker greens) but surprisingly these leaves were delicious! They weren't super hard or cold like I imagined. They actually paired well with the taco ingredients. I enjoyed the tasty flavor of the asada, then the shrimp.. both with an added crunch that made my mouth go wild. Finally, we finished it off with the pastor tacos to give their homemade corn tortilla a try. As expected, soft and fresh! An excellent finished to send us off in food coma on the way home. There's plenty of parking in this strip mall, and there's a few tables outside if you wanted to stay and eat. Social distancing is practiced and masks are worn. Safe! If you're looking for a "healthy" alternative to the traditional taco, or if you crave tacos in general, give this place a shot. You won't be disappointed! read more

My wife and I decided to try green taco this morning because of some of the reviews we saw here were exemplary. We tried the Carne Asada breakfast burrito and the Chilaquiles. Both were subpar. The Carne Asada burrito was not good at all. On top of that, they put mozzarella in it, who does that! Who puts mozzarella in a Carne Asada burrito? I've never seen a Carne Asada burrito from a Mexican spot use mozzarella. The Chilaquiles had 10 chips total and cost us $12.99. On top of that the beans had no flavor and were watery. The staff was friendly. And the food came fast, but maybe go a little slower and make higher quality food. read more

We just went there on 12-12-20 for the first time to try it. Honestly, the food is way overpriced. $3.90 + tax for a taco! Not even packed with meat, just a taco with not much flavor. My daughter ordered the 2 taco plate. I decided not to get any food from there because I wanted to see if it was worth a second visit. It is not. Also, the kid taking orders as well as the 3 women working the kitchen are not wearing their masks properly, they also need to cover the nose! read more

It was my first time here. I ordered a Shrimp burrito. I was surprised, it was full of flavor. Just the right amount of each ingredient. It's not a fancy place, however it looks really clean. It wouldn't accommodate a large group. Their tables are for parties of 2 and 4 people. Good customer service. I will be going back to try out their hand made tortillas with a Menudo (If they have homemade torrillas). Their coffee is good. My recommendation for any restaurant would be that whenever coffee is ordered , it gets served at the table to the customers. Just an opinion. read more

Our waitress went above and beyond to make me and my whole party feel welcome. The restaurant itself has its own parking so this is a huge plus for downtown Riverside. The feels inside are very Mexican vibes with some rustic appearance as well. It's very pretty and picturesque at all angles! Even the chairs are absolutely stunning!! I absolutely love The Green Taco in Riverside! I first came here when they had just opened and was immediately impressed by the fantastic food, great service, and the warm, family-operated vibe. Even though I've since moved out of the area, I happened to be in town for a job and didn't hesitate to stop by. I knew I had to say hi and pick up one of their amazing birria burritos. It was so great to see how busy they were--it's a testament to how incredible the food is and how much others love it too. This little hole-in-the-wall gem completely caught us by surprise! We tried it one day on a whim, and it's been a regular stop for us ever since -- which really says a lot about the quality of their food. Got street tacos a la carte (pastor, asada, and carnitas) all made with handmade corn tortillas which were delicius. Also tried their wet green pastor burrito and I'm glad I did :) I will be back to try their breakfast menu. The young man at the register was extremely helpful in explaining the menu and how making the food fresh was extremely important to the owner of the restaurant. Very pleased with my visit. read more

There must be family and friends doing these reviews. They don't give Taco Tuesday deals that they say they offer. Buy 2 get one free is what they say, but they give you the 2 Cheapest free, so if you buy steak and another meat taco, the cheapest is free. Then, there are additional fees. The flavor isn't great and the place truly isn't CLEAN like some profess. Total disappointment and ripoff. read more

The food here is very good. This is a small place with a few tables, the atmosphere is full of pleasant smells of spices and food. I had a Carney Asada wet burrito with red sauce, which was full of flavor and tender beef, beans, and rice. A little on the pricey side, but what isn't these days. Needless to say, we have always loved Chilitos. Then why only two stars? Only one reason. They are no longer offering their pico de gallo at their complementary salsa bar. Their pico is delicious, adding extra zing to whatever dish is ordered. Now you can only get the delicious pico if you order with your meal, and it's a very small amount (the tiny plastic cupful) for a dollar. When asked why the change, the very nice young lady said it was because of the increase in tomato prices. Tonight I purchased some very nice Rosa tomato's at Stater Bros for $0.99 a pound, so I am certain restaurants are buying them at an even lower price than the general public. There is something else going on here, and I feel I've been lied to. Bottom line: I will check from time to time to see if the pico is back at the salsa bar. If it is, I'm back as a loyal customer (we go there an average of twice a week). If not, Chilitos loses several regular customers. It's a shame, but there are other Mexican restaurants around that I love and will enjoy my business. If you're a customer, tell Chilitos to return the pico to the salsa bar.
