The technician that showed up was fantastic- cleaned my unit inside and out (old company never did), performed a full service and transfer test. He showed me how to manually transfer also (I had never learned) and put me on their dealer fleet monitoring. They have 24/7 emergency service and the calls go to an actual employee - not an answering service. The owner is a local firefighter in town also- the commitment to their local community evident. The worst was the guy installing a new main breaker panel using only the light from his cell phone & then mislabeling most of the outlets on the panel door. In addition, the panel wires were not labeled by them before they swapped panels, so they flipped every circuit breaker off/on to determine which outlets were on them. So, they created power surges across every appliance. Be aware that they are now known as My Generator Experts and Ryan's Electric. +++++++++++++++ After seeing Paul's immature response to my above review, I only wish I could give zero stars. Now I better understand why he was a horrible supervisor. (BTW, my panel was clearly marked as to which circuit breakers went to which outlets.)

To begin with, the sales representative was punctual, knowledgeable, and thorough. He clearly explained all the window options and helped us choose the style we wanted. Unfortunately, that is where the professionalism ended. One of the most alarming issues occurred during installation: a window was either dropped or thrown from the second floor onto my front lawn, where it shattered. The crew made no attempt to clean it up. I only discovered the shards the next day while outside barefoot with my toddler. I spent hours picking up tiny pieces of glass myself. When I raised this with the project manager, he didn't apologize or show any concern--he simply offered $100 off for my "time." Beyond that, the overall project management and execution were riddled with issues. I had to review the order sheet at least ten times because the company repeatedly made mistakes--wrong quantities, wrong styles, wrong hardware. Even after all of that, the final order was still incorrect. I requested that the new windows match the existing styles (e.g., 6 over 1, 8 over 1), yet this was ignored, and we only realized the error during installation when it was too late to correct. They also installed two top sashes in one window and acted as if this was normal. Their explanation was that "owners ask for ridiculous things sometimes," so they didn't question it. This was the only window of the 18 installed incorrectly, yet I was the one who had to push to have it acknowledged. The hardware situation was equally unprofessional. They installed mismatched pieces--gold locks with nickel lifts--because the hardware we selected was "out of stock," but they never told us. When we asked for replacements, they simply handed me a catalog and told me to choose new ones, offering no guidance, even though only one alternative actually worked with the holes they had already drilled. Another major issue involved the window screens. I requested screens for all windows in the original estimate, and this was clearly documented. Despite that, no screens were installed. Their excuse was that "homeowners don't often want to open their windows." After the mistake was pointed out, they installed makeshift screens that don't fit properly and are extremely difficult to remove and replace--clearly not the correct screens for the windows we purchased. The job, which was supposed to take a few days, dragged on for weeks due to unfinished work, installation errors, and repeated reorders caused by their own mistakes. Some of the work is still unfinished. I would not recommend Ardmore Windows and Doors to anyone. Unless you want to act as your own project manager, clean up after the crew, and still end up with results that don't match what you paid tens of thousands of dollars for, look elsewhere.

Taking the leap into Solar can be intimidating and confusing. We reached out to Glen and a couple of other groups because we wanted to see if this made sense before the federal tax credit expires next year. Glen simplified everything for us. He has been doing this for a while and he has answers for all the common questions. Glen was very patient with us as we peppered him with questions (sometimes asking the same questions over again). After comparing quotes, Glen's numbers were reasonable and we decided to go with him because of the favorable reviews and the thoroughness with which he explained the process to us. From start to end the communication was excellent, we always knew where we were in the process (a lot of paperwork but they do it all for you). When it came time to do the installation, the crew came and finished everything in less than a day. They cleaned up after themselves and when they left the only remnants of their work were the panels on the roof. It was obvious this was not their first rodeo. Now on this sunny 90+ degree day with two air conditioners humming, I look at the meter outside and see my house if being fully powere by the sun ... it is a great feeling! If you are considering solar, I highly recommend Green Sun. They are a class act and the engagement feels more like a partnership than a contractor relationship. Oh yeah, they also installed a gas generator for us and that process was equally professional and pleasurable. read more

Very professional. I installed a new roof and a new 20kw generator and everything went as planned. I am extremely happy with the process from start to finish. Every step was scheduled, and on time. I was kept informed throughout the entire process. Everything went so smooth from permits to installation and final testing. Glen explained each step and setup my expectations honestly and correctly.
