I Called Alpha and Teodoro came out immediately. I thought wow this seems like a good company. And they probably do good work, but I will never know. Because he came out he said he had two jobs ahead of me. I said fine just give me an estimate (since you have seen the house) so I can set aside some money for the spring or summer. Excellent work on the project. Very professional crew, and delivery on quality on a good price! I hired Teodoro and his crew from Alpha Home Roofing to install an attic roof fan. I ordered the hybrid solar/electric fan by myself via home depot (something he was ok with, not everyone is). We were able to agree on a price. Initially he quoted a price that was mid range from the other contractors I interviewed but we were able to negotiate it down to one that was good for both myself and him. The team came on time and got straight to work. They moved with efficiency but also safety and good craftsmanship in mind. Teo made sure to locate a good spot for the fan with me so that I would be happy with the placement. Though there was a language barrier, everything went off without a hitch and the installation was perfect. He was able to explain the steps to me and reassured me that there will be no leak (there is none!). They were even willing to screw in a couple of blocks of wood for me to create a square pocket on the inside part of the fan so that I can put insulation in that pocket during the winter months. Teo and his crew did a phenomenal job, were extremely professional, and very well priced. I had a leak on my roof caused by broken sheathing and initially only planned on repairing that area. I had 4 different companies (including Teo's) come quote the repair. Teo came on time and was very polite, his price ended up being the cheapest out of the 4. He mentioned that my roof was probably ~20yrs old (I never knew how old the roof was) and recommended I replace the entire side of the roof where the leak was instead of just repair the area where the leak was. I ended up requesting the whole roof to be replaced for peace of mind. While the sheathing was exposed, Teo and his team performed due diligence to also repair other areas of the roof where the existing sheathing seemed to be wearing out. Teo and his team worked tirelessly for 2 days and cleaned up everything, even my roof gutters that were full of dirt and grime from the previous Fall. They were meticulous in their work and the result shows (disclaimer- it's only been a day). This company on Dec.7 2023 kept us waiting 2 hours and did not show up at all. I will refuse to use this company now or in the future. I do not recommend this company to any one that is on a schedule. I find that rather disturbing for a company to do such a thing. Any one looking for a Roofer do yourself a favor and skip this company! What do these companies think that you want a major job like mine for free, silly of them to think this. Teo and his team stopped by when he said he would. He took the time to inspect the task. The price was fair and negotiated. This is pretty important because we literally had 5-6 other roofing contractors that would not respond to our calls, or show up for the estimate. Or they'd show for the estimate then you'd never hear from them again. We had one that responded to our call three weeks later. Why would we even think of hiring those companies at all? We live in Staten Island and we had to go outside to NJ to find a competent fair and honest roofer. I'm glad he operates here as well. On the day of the job Teo's team let me know they were on the way and they showed up exactly on time. The gentleman did a very competent and thorough job. All I saw was hard work over two days time, just professional all the way. All the tasks we discussed were done with care. When we found a bit of additional roof damage (inevitable when you are doing a roof tear off)....this was also done at a fair and negotiated cost. And I was surprised at how well the guys cleaned up (I thought I'd at the very least have to do a bit of that in the yard). Overall I would highly recommend Teo's Construction. The work looks great. To be fair, it was just finished today...so let's see how well this holds up over the next few weeks, through some storms and all (we have skylights and it's always a little scary roof jobs with skylights)...and if anything changes I'll update it here. Teo's Construction is quite possibly the single best experience with any contractor I've had in 11 years of owning my house. He and his team performed a literal miracle amongst contractors: a job estimated, approved, and completed ALL IN THE SAME DAY. I'm not kidding. Onsite to estimate at 10:15, job done by 4. I had siding with vents over my attic fan, but the vents were too narrow for the fan to blow out air, causing a backup and an extremely hot attic. I had requested estimates from three other contractors on Yelp. The first two showed up and gave a verbal estimate, but one simply never gave me a written estimate, even after texting with me for a week or two. (Never ended up getting the estimate) The other one only had the estimate in just as Teo was pulling up for the job. Teo not only came to my house at the date/time we scheduled, he got me a written estimate, and he said he could start that day. I told him it wasn't a rush, we could do it at his convenience, as long as it got done. He had the (electronic, always a plus) written estimate to me about two hours after coming to take a look. Not five minutes after I agreed to the estimate, I hear tools - his guys were starting the job. They finished that same day, cleaned up and everything. They even took the debris rather than leaving it for me to dispose of. His rate was comparable to the one or two other verbal estimates I got for the job and it was on budget. To be clear this is NOT a review on work done. They may do excellent work once contracted and we never made it that far. But , I believe everything matters when evaluating a business, punctuality, reliability and integrity included. Had a correspondence with someone from the company and agreed to have someone come out in 2 days to evaluate and give an estimate for the work to be done. After not be contacted on the day scheduled , I followed up to see if the evaluation was done. The response stated that the evaluation wasn't done , but they could come that current day. Not long after that , I was informed that they don't service New York ( yelp has them minutes away from my home). Be wary when people are willing to waste your time so easily. read more
