I'm back with a fresh drop... it's been a minute since I've contracted with a notable business…read moreworthy of a thiccc review. I gotta pay respect to Spearhead Pest Control. It's a two man company (shout out George and Rudy!) that provides Ojai Valley Inn service while enacting a genocide on your rodent population. These guys responded quick, gave a fast and fair estimate, and then came out quickly to blast these gophers and moles to hell. I've been dealing with an underground insurgency for weeks when I gave up my own efforts and reached out to Spearhead. Every morning I'd walk outside, look at a brand-new artisanal dirt mound, and feel my soul slowly leave my body. I was close to running a garden hose into the turf and going full Bill Murray in Caddyshack. Enter George and Rudy. These absolute gladiators rolled up, assessed the yard with deep precision, and went to work. No corporate fluff, no trying to upsell me on a quarterly subscription, just tactical spiritual warfare. They treat your property with the elegance of a five-star resort, right up until they turn on their specialized equipment and wage absolute hellfire beneath the topsoil. If your yard is currently being terrorized against your will by demonic rodents and you want them sent directly to the shadow realm with top-tier customer service, call Spearhead. George, Rudy, my lawn and my sanity owe them a debt of gratitude. I'll leave a couple screenshots of my texts with Rudy so you know the kind of customer service I'm talking about. Spearhead Pest Control: Five stars, zero survivors.

I called Rudy on Friday and he and Kevin came out on Monday, so fast. They were able to diagnose where the rats were coming from, where they were living, and how to get ride of them. I didn't end up seeing a single rat after they came and did their thing. Thank goodness because having to deal with a rat in a trap is not my favorite thing to do. They were also extremely affordable. We were so impressed that my roommate called them to come to his job to take care of mice issues. We highly, highly recommend Spearhead!

They gave me the best price, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Scheduling and communicating with them was easy and straightforward. I ran into a few complications with a roof project that another company was handling at the same time, which forced me to change the fumigation date several times. Stephani in the office was incredibly accommodating and understanding every time -- she made the whole process stress-free. The work itself was done promptly, and once the tent came down they cleaned up so thoroughly it looked like they were never even there. The post-tent instructions regarding restoring gas service, were clear and helpful. I would highly recommend Dr. Termite to anyone who needs termite work done in the West Valley or anywhere else they operate.

My apartment happened to share a wall with the unit that was the source of the problem. The experience was unsettling from the start. The crew arrived in an unmarked truck and walked into my apartment without knocking. When they realized I was inside, they turned around and left -- then told my manager I wasn't prepared because my plants weren't removed. Some of my plants are heavy and would have required extra care or assistance to move, but no one offered help or discussed options. When I left for them to do the work, I kept my camera on for peace of mind. At some point, they unplugged it, saying it was a "fire hazard." But left all other electronics plugged in and on. When I returned, I noticed a back-to-school gift card for my niece was missing. I can't say for sure what happened to it, but the entire situation left me feeling uncomfortable and distrustful. In my opinion, better communication, proper entry protocol, and respect for a tenant's personal property are essential in this line of work. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect that.

Ryan came out and gave us an assessment and then gave us tips on how to find out if we actually had any currently and how to stop them. He did another quick inspection and determined that we had taken care of the problem, and then gave us some mouse traps in case we needed them in the future. I offered to pay for his time, but he refused. Ryan (and I'm sure the whole enterprise) couldn't be more professional, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and just straight up generous. We will never use anyone else, and I can't recommend them highly enough.
