(Was hopping for the 10 yr Bourbon but got the 10 yr Rye.) Had always heard good thing about the rye too but a little more than i usually pay for any bottle, but hey . . . . I was there . . . . so i did. The staff were great but if i had one complaint, it's that it was bundled with another bottle. Sure, i understand when a retail place does it but it seemed unnecessary here, even annoying.

I opted for the tropic & Derby after dark. The tropical one was fun with the addition of the coconut cream and the added bananas. The Derby after dark was also a front runner with the hint of chocolate added with the mint, paired very nicely! Isaiah was amazing throughout our entire reservation, staying on top of refilling our snacks that paired perfectly with the drinks and flights! They are strict on their 1.5 hour stay per table so be mindful when ordering your drinks . That said, I did overhear the servers reminding the tables of their time remaining and allowed them to ample time for last call.

They also have a shop there along with a bar for paid tastings of their bourbons. The staff are friendly and personable and the site is welcoming. We were early for our tour but there was seating along with the shopping and bar. Our tour guide was Carter and he was very knowledgeable. He took us through the history of the distillery and owners as we walked through their smaller distillery. A stand out aspect of their distillery is the on site cooperage. The cooper that was working was very energetic and treated us to a viewing of an actual barrel charring. I've never seen that in person and it was a real treat. The tour ends with a tasting that included a pin and a chocolate covered caramel marshmallow, which I ended up buying a full bag of later in the shop - they are so good! This is, by far, my favorite bourbon trail tour yet - partly because of Carter, the cooperage, and the little extras we were given. I highly recommend!

Got a good history of the founder and the distillery. Enjoyed smelling and seeing the fermenting brew at various stages. Cool to see the coopering (barrel making) including the blazing fire charring the inside of the freshly made barrels. Wife said she could have watched the bottling line all day, and I wouldn't disagree. Small tastings of their 4 major labels in a sit down tasting room. The wife, who is not a whiskey fan, still enjoyed the tour, and was presented a decent mocktail to sip during the tasting. If you're in the neighborhood, it's a fun way to pass an hour plus.

I found the high proof points to be draining, and so I can't recommend buying a bottle with my own money. The chocolates are a must pairing. Service, however, is super chill and friendly. The bar is a chill place to hang out afterwards, and the bitter blend for their Old Fashioned is stellar. I also bought a couple bars of soap. Earthy and aromatic!

One of the things they offered in this distillery was a chance to tap right into a whiskey barrel for a flight of 5 different barrels. This was a really cool option but I knew I had a long day and evening ahead of me so I did not give it a try but definitely will be back to give it a go. They also had a chocolate pairing you could purchase with a selection for each barrel. They had a nice little gift shop and we perused what they had to offer and purchased a Glencairn glass for our collection at home. We sat down at the bar to order our cocktails. Valentine's Day (my birthday) had just passed a couple weeks prior and they still had their V-Day special on the menu so I ordered that cocktail. My cocktail was the Crushed Velvet, Whiskey Thief Bourbon, Creme de Cacao, Vanilla liqueur, Luxardo juice, chocolate bitters, and egg whites. It was a fine cocktail although not my favorite of the day. The hubby ordered a Maple Smoked Manhattan which had Whiskey Thief Bourbon, sweet vermouth, bitters, and maple syrup and he said he enjoyed it. Sitting at the bar was nice because they had a huge window open to the outside and you could feel the warmth of the day and a slight breeze. We will definitely be back to try the barrel flight and the chocolate pairing. Nice little place.

My favorites were the agave spirit (añejo) and the toasted bourbon. The amburana barrel aged whiskey blew me away! It's like nothing you've ever tasted I guarantee. This was easily my favorite whiskey on the trail. 10/10 would recommend! Do NOT miss this!

One part of the tour that stood out for us was a special tasting of one of their founder's blends (Adoura) at the end of the tour. When the price tag for that particular one is $900 a bottle, it's a real treat to try it.
