Then a few years later, after trouble free operation, we thought there was a problem with the inverter. We called Chris and he made an appointment for the next day to meet at the house. He determined the fuses in the breaker box out at the panels were blown and replaced them at that visit. CRSolar is a local company here to stay. They did an okay job, though the overhang…read moreon some of the gutters was greater than specs, leading to water overshoot during heavy rain. Okay, no catastrophe there. In 2025, we noticed a few torn shingles and got a local roofer (not Phoenix) to make repairs. The cause may have been raccoons, so not Phoenix's fault. But the roofer noticed bumps--called "blisters"--on a lot of our shingles. He said he'd never seen that many before, particularly in high "quality" (i.e., price) shingles. They're usually caused by heat. He said he's seen this problem before with the Malarky Shingles that Phoenix persuaded us to use. Are these blisters a problem? I don't know, so I called Phoenix to come look at them. A nice person on the phone said "sure!" and "Madelyn" will call you in the next few days. Not having heard from her in a month, I called again and again a different person on the phone was nice and promised "Madelyn" would call within 24 hours. No Madelyn. After the third attempt and the third promise of the mysterious "Madelyn", I got distracted by other stuff. I need to pursue it again (as my wife repeatedly reminds me). Anyway, I've got significantly blistered shingles and Phoenix is not interested in even checking them out and advising us. I've been pleasant. No threats. No shouting. I don't even expect the problem is covered by any warranty. But I do expect that a company will stand behind its work and the products that it aggressively pushes. Phoenix has failed on both those grounds. Oh, and let me know if you hear from "Madelyn".

This update is for service long after the house is done and there is really no reason for them to…read morekeep working hard for our approval. But they keep doing it anyway. We've been in the house 3 years now. Long enough to find all the little things that inevitably show up. There were precious few of them. So far we've had exactly one thing that we thought might be Native's responsibility to resolve but when we called them to see if they would be willing to discuss it they just sent two guys over and fixed it. No charge. No discussion. Just fixed it. Now we have had some stuff that we wanted to change, like a door that opened out that we felt would be better opening in. We contracted them to do it and they took care of it quickly, professionally, and at a cost slightly less than the quote from a local general handyman. Recently we had a crack in one of our big picture windows. It gets a lot of bird strikes and this looked like what happened this time. We called them and they came out, took the measurements, and a couple weeks later the replacement window showed up. We're waiting until it gets warmer to do the install, but it will be Native doing it. They are also going to do the solar upgrade later this year. One more string should make our house net negative, meaning we'll actually be able to sell energy back to our Co-op. We'll be a power plant! Seriously, ask anybody you know that has built a house. Ask them if they are still on good terms with their builder. Then ask them if their builder would be their first choice for any repairs. The answer for both will be 'Hell no!' I promise you. Our answer with Native is Hell Yes!

The tech was friendly, professional, and was able to explain the error with the system as well as how he would correct it. Can't tell you how great the savings have been having solar in Texas. My bill is usually $0.00 for 7month out of the year and I've build up credits during those months. I'm currently happy with this company.
