There's only two laundromats in Florence, Oregon. My husband and I are rving and like to use the laundromat quicker, more efficient than using the Camp laundry site. I've been using the other laundromat here in Florence. This is the first time I'm trying green lightning. It's a newer laundromat however it does not have maintenance or an attendant around half. The machines are not working however there's no line to wait on or bumping into people while trying to fold your clothes it could use some cleanup indefinitely some electrical maintenance for the machines being that they are card operated, I'm afraid this business perhaps was going out of business however there is a sign for sale. This business is for sale however it's still operatable so today I'm using it and so far so good. read more

I'm not sure what has changed since the last 5 reviews but my experience was much better. There were many machines operating with several being upgraded, but plenty open machines. Although not spotless the space was quite clean, yes maybe the floor needing sweeping, but overall ok. The floors looked they had been recently mopped. The machines were very clean and I would not hesitate to go back. Super hot dryers (if you use that selection) makes drying bulky items fast. Machines are pay by card only but most the machines have the card reader dangling by wires because of vandalism rendering them inoperable. Very dirty floor and tops of machines are dirty. soap dispensers on top have not been cleaned in a very long time. Showers are not available because there is no attendant on duty and no signage saying when they are supposed to be there. read more

I was happy the first time I used this place last week. in and out quickly. this time however I put my laundry in and left to run an errand. they locked the doors prior to the posted closing time and there was another customer sitting outside apparently in same situation. it's a 50-mile round trip for me to come here since my washing machine broke down. no one answers any attempts at phone numbers listed. been trying to call since last night to see if I should use the gas to come back or if they've already tossed my clothes. at least I have the record of call times for my attorney if I do not get my clothes back. read more

Filthy. Absolutely filthy I don't believe these floors have been cleaned in at least six months. Add to that the horrendous smell when you walk in the doors. On top of all that, half the dryers are out of order, some have torn metal inside that will guarantee your clothes get torn. Should have looked at reviews. Passing through and needed to do laundry, didn't have coins to go to Linda's as recommended and was told this place accepted card so I went. This place is grody to say the least, which is being generous. Floors are filthy, detergent loading area in the washing machines haven't been cleaned recently or ever (?). No attendant, of the dozen+ washing machines, only a couple were functioning. Of the dozen+ dryers, only 3 were working and when my stuff wasn't dry and I wanted to dry it again kept getting error messages so now down to 2 functioning dryers. Lint traps are locked so can't clean those out, and my laundry smells weird after leaving, does not feel clean. Don't know how this place is in business with so few machines running. Do not go here. I just hope I don't catch something from having to use this gross place.. Feeling grossed out in my bedsheets I washed. Also, very expensive. I needed to do 4 loads of laundry and 3 dryers multiple dry cycles to get dry and that was totaling over $70. Ludicrous. read more

This place has a huge sign saying they have showers but they actually don't since the only way they offer them is if an attendant is present. If I could rate this less I would. Washing machines are dirty and the laundry card readers for majority of the machines are broken but will take your credit anyways. You can load your card up and there is no way to get a refund for the malfunction machines. This is an absolute disgrace of a business. Seemingly no human ever maintains the building or machines. Have lost probably $100 in the machines over the last year because they either take your money and don't run, or the machines shut off mid-cycle. Terribly dirty (I cleaned up feces off the floor one time I was there) and owner is non-responsive to phone messages. You have to buy a card to use on their machines which is fine but the card machines don't accept coins as payment so you have to have paper money to load the cards. Half the machines are out of order. Several others don't have an out of order sign but they won't accept their own card. Several machines are clogged with powder detergent. When I started loading my clothes into one of the machines, some old detergent leaked out of the machine onto my hands and There is no sink anywhere to rinse my hands. ALL of the bathrooms are closed because of vandalism when there is no attendant around and there was no attendant to be found while I was there. Not good. It is clean. That's important. But most machines don't work. The cash change machine is broken and you have to use their card payment system. So if you only have a $20 bill, you have to put $20 on your card, minus the $.49 they charge for the card, you only get $19.51 in credit. No refunds on the balance or returned card. Albeit, you may not have a balance as their large washer is $11.25! There is also never an attendant and their restrooms and showers are only available only when a attendant is. About three weeks ago our family was driving through Florence on our RV trip through Oregon and it was time to wash clothes. Wife googled and found this place and sadly didn't take a look at the reviews. Two large washers were used as we're a family of six and when they were done only one unlocked. The other displayed a error code and flashed "Out of Order". The machine remained locked and we couldn't get our clothes. We immediately called (twice) the line listed on the walls of the facility. We waited and tried again and was only able to leave another message. Our itinerary needed us to move on (nearby) and we called to let them again know of our contact info and concern. No response to any of our calls. A week goes by and we call again. NOTHING. We returned home and called several times since and NOTHING. CASE HARRIS is the owner and should be ashamed for not responding to his customers. There were sentimental clothes my kids had to leave behind. Please make things right, Mr. Harris, and contact us to rectify this situation! My recommendation is to stay far away from this laundry and look for one that is responsive to their customers. I have been stuck using this place anytime my own dryer or washing machine at home break.... this has been 3 times over the last 10 years.... each time this place gets worst.... dirtier each time with the ATM and Change machine being broken all three times I had to go in there. Along with several machines being broken. I have never once seen an attendant there no matter what time of day I go so the bathrooms are always locked. Their prices keep going up as well. I have used the laundromat in Florence, Oregon several times. It is always dirty. The dryers take your money but won't dry your clothes. The lint traps are so full that the dryer doesn't put out any heat. Times are tough enough, we don't need placing like this where you pay for a service and don't receive it. While visiting in Florence, we used the Green Lightening Laundry twice. Last year, we had a problem with the dryers. We had to move our wet clothes 3x as the dryers we chose WOULD NOT WORK! I called the phone number (which is posted in one place only) and left a message. My call was not returned. Our family members also visited last year and had to pull clothes out of the washer, filled with water as it stopped working in the middle of the wash cycle! Their call was not returned either! We returned this year, hoping all would be good...NOPE! Again, we had to move our clothes out of dryers 3x! None of these machines last year or this year were marked as non-working machines. I could not leave a VM on the phone number, so I texted. Again, no response. Our family members went again too, and even though we posted a note on the non-working machines, it was removed, so they lost money again as well! Also, the floors and the facility were FILTHY! We love Florence and like to give the locals our business. No more for this place! read more
