    Honey Walnut Shrimp
    Michelle D.

I was with a friend running errands and visiting family in Carmichael and we decided to stop at Green Jade for an early dinner. Hadn't been there in a while and it sounded good. We were seated as soon as we walked in. We actually got there minutes before 2 large groups came in. There is plenty of seating, booths and tables. The decor is a little dated but not terrible. We ordered our food and sodas and it all came out pretty quickly, maybe too quickly, but it was good. We had the honey walnut shrimp, garlic chicken, egg rolls and pork fried rice. It was all hot and yummy. The rice was a little salty but we did get the pork fried rice. The honey walnut shrimp is my favorite and there was plenty of shrimp. I hadn't had the garlic chicken before but it was pretty good too. Service was quick. We ate our fill and had plenty leftover to take home. I well definitely return to Green Jade.

Great service. The food was served immediately. Great food too. Everything tasted good.

Menu as of December 17th. Picked this up with our to-go order.

Picked up a to-go order yesterday because we were craving Chinese food and they were close by. Also because we used to really like this restaurant. (We haven't been back for a while because of all the upheaval with the change of ownership or whatever the hell was going on with them, and because the last order we got from them was abysmal.) I will say that the food this time was nice and hot! and ready super fast. The downside for that is that the extremely cheap styrofoam trays that they now use were starting to melt because of the nice hot food. Do better Green Jade! Don't cheap out on your containers. They were so misshapen that one of them leaked all over the bag because it didn't hold its shape when the hot food was put in. As far as the food goes, the pork chow mein noodles were pretty good-we'd actually wanted Chow Fun but they were out when we called. We also ordered orange chicken and honey walnut shrimp anda large steamed rice. The portions were good on the chow mein and the orange chicken. Not so much on the honey walnut prawns which were pretty overcooked but still tasted pretty good. Additionally don't forget, this is honey WALNUT prawns; you're supposed to put walnuts in it remember? The food didn't justify the 50 plus dollars we spent on three entrees and a large rice. I would give four stars for customer service and three stars for food issues. I really wish they would go back to the way they used to be when they were top of the line back in the day. We really miss that.

I really wanted to love this place. I called in an order and when they told me the family combo I got would be ready in 10 minutes, I had a feeling fresh would not be a possibility. I got to the restaurant within 7 minutes and it was already packaged and ready to go. It wasn't fresh unfortunately. I gave 2 stars because the wonton soup was good and hot but the rest of the food was less than stellar. The sweet and sour chicken didn't have enough sauce for even half of the order. The rice tasted a few days old. I attached a picture of what our Mongolian beef looked like. If you love a ton of onions and a few pieces of beef...then order this dish! Over all...I'll stick with what I know to be good in Carmichael.

Green jade dinner for two with 3 pieces of meat on the Mongolian beef. Will never go back.

Order ready fast. Quality of food was horrible. Traders joes frozen orange chicken is WAY better than this place.

Loved everything our dinner here! This restaurant had been…read moreon my radar for sometime, but the fact that it was called Folsom Palace lead my brain to believe it was in Folsom-took me a minute to grasp that it was actually right down the street from me in Citrus Heights. Our usual family of four was a family of three for the evening and this was the restaurant we chose. Boy did family member number four miss out! The service was impeccable from the moment that we walked in. That includes being greeted right away. The waitstaff was incredibly attentive and on top of the details. We ordered some pretty standard items off the menu to please everyone-vegetable chow mein, lemon chicken and pot stickers. Even though these might sound like boring dishes, they actually came out with such flair! The presentation on the dishes were gorgeous. They tasted amazing as well. I love the lighting of the restaurant. It gave it such a chill vibe. It's on a very busy street but you've never know it once you walk in it kind of feels like you are more tucked away in a smaller neighborhood.. I'm definitely looking forward to the next visit where I can try some more items like their Korean short ribs, I'd love to try some of their Curry's and a lot more of their chef specials!

Other dishes were equally as tasty. Highly recommend these establishments. Server was attentive but not hovering. Decor and low noise levels were appreciated.
