This food is good!! I got salt and pepper shrimp, shrimp fried rice, and veggie chow mein, everything had flavor and was cooked to perfection, I live in Elk Grove and I gladly will take the drive to this place because I haven't had any Chinese food that can compare to here , I'm a Bay Area girl so I find myself always comparing food to restaurants out there so I'm glad to find a replacement, just know ordering Ala carte gets a bit expensive

My family and I were looking for a quick bite and stumbled upon this Chinese restaurant. The place is small, with only 3-4 tables inside, and seems to be mainly a takeout spot. They offer lunch specials Monday through Saturday from 11am to 3pm, and we were able to order from that menu. The lunch special came with Hot & Sour soup, a half-and-half choice of pork fried rice, vegetable chow mein, steamed vegetables, or white rice, plus a main dish. We ordered the General Tso Shrimp, Black Pepper Beef, and Honey Walnut Prawns. Everything came out quickly and piping hot. The fried rice and chow mein were delicious, though a bit on the salty side. That said, for about $14 per dish, it was definitely worth it. The portions were huge. We would come back again!

Container is smaller than it looks in picture lol . Steam rice with vege chowmein and salt n pepper chicken combo

Been seeing this place pop up a couple times and was in the area so I decided to pop in and grab a quick lunch ... the place itself is nice but very small .. has two tables .. one for a party of 2 and another for a party of 4 or 5.. I ordered from their special menu which was pretty extensive. I ordered the salt n pepper chicken with steamed rice and vege chowmein .. it also came with hot n sour soup .. the rice was on the dry side but not bad .. the chowmein was good and the salt n pepper chicken was great.. only complaint was the portion was on the smaller size for the price .. but the salt n pepper chicken was delicious. I would come back to try some other dishes.

In a nutshell; Panda express, but up the quality a tad bit, the price a little bit more, and the portions x(1.3) Good chinese food to go, and if you do want to dine-in, they do have a few number of tables for you to dine-in at. Person at the counter was very nice, tables weren't too wobbly nor were the chairs. Enough parking spaces outside even on a busy lunch our in my opinion. Theres a few various food choices on the menu to choose and does have the usual entree side combo options. Doesn't take too long to get your food either. So overall if youre just looking for easy Chinese food that isnt panda express then do consider going to this place. Yes the prices are a bit more than the usual which can prompt you to think "why am I paying for expensive panda express" then maybe the quality of the food and portions can convince ya that it matches the prices. Overall was still a pleasant experience overall.

Beijing Beef Combination Platter with Egg Roll & Chow Mein, comes with Wonton Soup too! Hubby loved it!!

We decided to stop in for lunch. I ordered the Honey Walnut Shrimp Combination Platter with Wonton Soup, Potsticker and Steamed Vegetables. My hubby ordered the Beijing Beef Combination Platter with Wonton Soup, Egg Roll and Chow Mein. My hubby, our 1 year old who split with us and I enjoyed our meals! The Wok Takeout is a family owned business that opened just last year! They offer limited outdoor and indoor seating, as well as Chinese takeout. We'll definitely be returning to try more of their menu items, great service! SYOY! :-) *Song Credit: Outside by @iksonmusic

Salt & pepper shrimp catering size ($61 for 48 pieces). They came in boxes but we put them in our serving trays

We needed to bring a dish to a potluck and were scrambling to find a place that could take a catering order with less than 24 hours' notice. The Wok came through big time! I called a little before they opened at 11am to ask if they could have a catering order ready by 2:30pm and they made it happen, no problem, it was ready by pick up time. Even though we only ordered one dish, they were super accommodating and helpful. We got the salt and pepper shrimp, which was $61 for 48 large pieces, and they were a hit! Our whole party loved them. Everyone kept asking where we got it from. Heads-up if you're ordering catering: they do require a 50% deposit, which is totally fair. This was our first time ordering from The Wok, but thanks to the great service and positive feedback from our guests, it definitely won't be the last!

Yelpers always with the good recommendations. DEEEEEElicious authentic Chinese food. Mostly takeout but accommodates 6-10 eat-in guests. Gracious with allergy restrictions. Super sweet little spot in an area with many ethnic eating choices. Was hit with a hunger about 4:30 and beat the dinner rush. 10/10 come back often for us. Hubs had hot hot hot General Tso bowl. I had combo Yakisoba. So satisfying.

Walking into this brightly lit space was quite refreshing. The ladies at the counter offered a friendly greeting as I checked out the menus. I found this restaurant after perusing Yelp for Chinese food, which I was craving. It appeared brand new but was told that it has been here for about a year. It is part of a pod of restaurants that seem to share one building but are different ethnically -focused restaurants. The Wok is on the backside of the building. The menu contained the usual offerings by protein - seafood, chicken, beef, pork and vegetables too. The options allow for any entree to become a combo for an additional $4 Making one's meal a combo adds a cup of soup, a choice from two appetizers, and a side of pork fried rice, vegetable chow Mein, steamed vegetables or white rice. I was very impressed with this option because I have not been frequenting Chinese restaurants because the cost of an entree, rice, and a veggie dish has been trending between $30 - $35.This had become too much for me, a retired person n a fixed income. Another option is the Daily Lunch Special served between 11 - 3 every day but Sunday. It includes soup, and two of the four previously cited sides. I got the salt and pepper spare ribs lunch with white rice, and steamed vegetables with hot and sour soup. The portion was very generous. The spare ribs were seasoned well and tender. The veggies included zucchini, broccoli, carrots, celery, onions, and bell pepper. Though nicely steamed, there was very little seasoning tasted. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and am already planning a return visit with my niece for our monthly lunch outing. I noticed that they offer one of my favorite shrimp dishes; Salt & Pepper Head/Shell on Shrimp Freshly Brewed Teas - including Arnold Palmer and hot green and Jasmine teas as well as all fountain drinks are offered with free refills; however, refills must be requested at the counter. There is a sign in the counter that I think all of us may want to be more mindful of in these days of rising costs and greater difficulty for small businesses - Cash Preferred! If possible, and especially when dining with small businesses, let us help them and ourselves by keeping businesses like this around by paying cash whenever we can. I am excited about my next visit which will be soon.

    General tso's chicken lunch entree

Second time eating here. Great portions and yummy food as always! The food always comes out piping hot and fresh! Green beans: Must have! Eat it quick while it's hot and crispyyy General Tso's chicken: So flavorful and tender Chow mien: One of my favorite dishes here. I could eat multiple plates of this stuff. Cream cheese wontons: Tastes like homemade!

The Wok was a pleasant surprise. The menu has something for everyone and is massive. I opted for the general tso chicken lunch special that comes with 2 sides and soup for $14.xx. A good deal for the amount of food you get. The chicken were huge chunks and sauce was tangy/sweet. The steamed veggies were nice. Service was friendly and nice. Parking lot

It was great! I am always looking for great Chinese food and found another spot around the Arden Area in Sacramento, flavorful Chinese food with a cool vibe, it's called The Wok! We ordered the bowl option with General Chicken and chow mein, and another combination platter with garlic chicken, chow mein, a pot sticker, and hot and sour soup. It was so good and so tasty! The chicken was perfectly crispy, with plenty of flavor, generous portions and had that delicious charred, high-heat taste that makes you feel like it just came straight out of the wok. The chow mein was savory, with a nice balance of noodles and veggies, and the hot and sour soup was a little tangy to my liking. The counter person was amazing, so friendly and attentive! Since we decided to eat there, they checked on us often. The restaurant itself is small but clean and welcoming. Seemed like they were busy with to go orders. I'll definitely be back if I'm ever on this side of town. Highly recommend!

    GENERAL TSO'S CHICKEN

Really good Chinese food; the hunan beef was off the chain, and the general Tso's chicken was incredibly delicious as well. The egg roll was decent, and the wonton soup was really good. This definitely satiated my craving for some authentic Chinese cuisine.

I can't even tell you how delicious their chow fun (dry style) was the Noodles were absolutely perfectly cooked. I got the barbecue pork that was tons of pork. The amount of chow fun was way more than most Chinese restaurants are serving these days. I was worried that there might've been too much sodium because it was so sweet, but I didn't swell up as I do at places that use too much soy sauce or MSG. Highly recommend!

So I'm planning my next trip here this week so I can enjoy the amazing cucumber salad (so fresh, crunchy and garlicky), their pepper beef clay pot (sizzling rice at the bottom for the win and big portions), their spicy tofu (umm what?!? So crispy) and their awesome skewers (the pork belly is my favorite). The space is small, so if you're planning on dining in during peak times, you may want a back up or take it to go as they only have a handful of tables inside and a few tables outside. There is parking but it is shared with other business so can get busy. The service is wonderful! The hostess/waitress was very friendly and everything came out relatively quick. The clay pot does take some time (they need to cook up the rice to get that awesome crunchy bottom) so place your order for that first, and then look at the appetizers and skewers as they come out fast. It was nice enough that I tried to come here on a weekend night and it was packed full of families which is great but probably where I should have thought about it more. We went up to the counter and were told to wait a few minutes. I saw that a large table was clearing up so I didn't mind waiting. During this time a group came up behind us and I thought they were after us. One of the server waved in our general direction after cleaning up and splitting the table, so I thought they were gesturing to us since it has already been 10 minutes of waiting. Wrong, it was to the group behind us. Maybe it was communicated in mandarin that they had a reservation, I'm not sure. I waited for the next empty table, which was also taken by yet another group that magically appeared behind us as if they knew they were in line. I decided to leave after this. My issue is that I looked and talked to the staff multiple times and at no point, did they indicate there was a waitlist, nor did they take my name, or anything about people in front of us. It was really frustrating because being told it would be a few minutes set the wrong expectation. This is not the only place to get skewers so if you're left confused where you are in line, just come another weekday, speak mandarin, or go somewhere else like I did

While I was…read morewaiting, 3 other people ordered the fish as well, and it gets good reviews here on Yelp, so I made the trip to Mack Rd at night once again. The good - my order was prepared quickly, and the amount of fish was very generous. The fish was tasty and spicy. The house chow mein that I also ordered had decent (read below) flavor. The bad - the salt and pepper fish had a great batter, but I feel they're battered too much, and the actual fish piece inside is tiny. My house chow mein didn't have a single shrimp in it. Lots of beef, which was good, but the char smell from the beef was the only thing you could taste on the noodles. It's almost like the chef cooked the noodles on whatever the beef was cooked on. The noodles we had ordered from here a month ago had very good flavor, but not a one note beef flavor. There was a lot of beef and chicken in the house chow mein, but zero shrimp means the cook either forgot or they didn't have them and thought it would be ok to add more beef. Either way, I paid extra for my selection, and didn't get it. Am I Pissy? Yes. Am I honest? Also a Yes. 3 stars this trip, probably my last.
