He refused to finish his job so I told him to leave. He promised to put a new wire from my unit to my thermostat because my wire was bad. There was no need to fix the external wire....there was no problem with any external wires, but it was an easy fix for them to do to try and fool me and make me think that they were fixing the wire. The joke was on them because they didn't realize that I knew exactly what wire needed to be replaced because Justin showed me that night before he left .... It's all games with this company games and deception.!!!! I called the office. I was told another lie that the office gave the technician the wrong information to change that wire instead of the thermostat wire. Ben knew exactly what wire to change. He was on the phone with Justin about the wire that he was going to change. the night before and he couldn't change it because he didn't have enough wire and he was going to come back the next day! The next day was that day that he came back because of the mess as well because of the wrong adhesive he put on the unit that dripping all over my garage floor and onto my car. He was upset with me because I was upset with him and that's when he refused to change the wire. Now the company refuses to replace it. They still haven't tried to fix their mess on my floor instead they had one guy come out and try to rub the paint off my floor, which he actually peeled the paint off my garage floor from trying to scrub it off.. . Its been over a week now that I've been dealing with all this mess..... I honestly have never worked with such a dishonest unprofessional incompetent company like this before....HONESTLY!!! I'm a firm believer in preventative maintenance. Cool Wizard has been servicing my A/C for several…read moreyears, and I have happy with their service. "Cool Wizard" has always been professional. Their "behind -the-scenes" admin, "JoJo" was very responsive and replied to my text inquiries in a timely manner, typically within minutes. "Max" was the assigned "technician of the day" and he arrived in a timely manner. Prior to his arrival, Cool Wizard texted me that Max was on his way, and texted me a picture so I knew who he was! Max checked out the system and reported that the system was basically OK, but suggested a couple non-critical items that I might wish to address in the future, and backed up his suggestions with photos. I appreciated that he didn't try to sell me a new unit, or attempt to scare me with a "gloom -and-doom" outlook. The old "Holiday Inn" commercial said "The best surprise is NO surprise", and there were NO surprises because the bill was $95, which was exactly what I'd been quoted in advance. I'm glad that my A/C appears to be OK now, but when I do need a new one, I'm calling "Cool Wizard"

Yikes! Jim came to my house personally and said I needed to change my air filters to a different brand, and maybe , only maybe add a return to help air flow. He gave me advice how to cool my home office, but he was definitely looking out for me in the long run. We just found our new A/C company who we can trust to come into the house, know what they are doing, and not try to upsell or outright rip you off. The technicians at Heinze work on salary , so they have no commission incentive to take your money. Ask your own A/C guys about that and see what they say. Jim is always getting training on the latest technology and ideas, that is impressive.

ALMOST SCAMMED $5,400 (1/5 stars)…read moreI recently had a terrible experience with Harrington Air Conditioning in Pinellas Park and wanted to warn others. In July 2026, technician from Harrington Air Conditioning came out for a "no cool" issue on my 2019 Trane straight cool system (air handler in the vertical hallway closer) Technician diagnosed a low refrigerant charge and a leak at the evaporator coil. He presented three options: * A) Just pay the $89 service call fee * B) Pay $408 to add R-410A refrigerant (which he said would get it running temporarily) * C) Pay $5,407 for a full evaporator coil replacement I chose option B to avoid the huge repair cost for now. After he added the refrigerant and charged the system to "factory specs," there was still no cooling at all. Technician casually said it would "take a couple hours to cool down" and left. Their after-hours service line is just an AI bot that promises a callback in the morning, which never came. No follow-up whatsoever. Frustrated, I called Pleasant Air Conditioning in Largo the next day. Their technician quickly diagnosed the real issue: my wall thermostat was faulty and causing the heating and cooling to fight each other at the same time. They replaced the thermostat, and cool air started blowing immediately. Harrington's technician completely misdiagnosed the problem, charged me $408 for unnecessary refrigerant, and provided zero follow-up. I felt taken advantage of, especially with that massive $5,400 coil replacement quote right after spotting a supposed leak. I would highly recommend staying far away from Harrington Air Conditioning. In June 2026, our AC system shut down. Technician Jacob informed us that the drain pan and drain line needed to be cleared and that the safety switch had shut the system down to prevent overflow. We were then presented with a proposed charge of $744. We were told the issue existed because we had not scheduled maintenance within six months, and so we were not covered by our pre-paid maintenance plan. The company indicated that a reminder call had been made, but if so, it occurred while I was recovering from surgery. I received no email reminders, text messages, or additional follow-up attempts, even though I received both text and email reminders of the appointments with Adam and Jacob. It was difficult to accept a proposed charge of approximately $744 for what was described as clearing a drain pan and drain line. This is a routine maintenance that the technician told us would take roughly 30 minutes, and needed no components nor supplies. This implies an hourly labor charge of $1488. I was willing to pay a reasonable amount and repeated that several times. As we questioned the proposed charge of $744 for a half hour of work, the technician called the office, and the discussion reached an impasse. Next, he walked out. No work was performed, and we were not charged because we declined the proposed service. I contacted management to discuss the situation and seek a reasonable resolution, but my calls and email were not answered. We saved Harrington money by not requesting prepaid maintenance. With that in mind, it would have been reasonable to simply perform the maintenance and, if necessary, charge us $100-$200 for the emergency service call.
