Food and service: This place was really good. They gave us HUGE Shirley temples and the wonton soup was delicious. The only problem was the gyoza that had shrimp in it. Ew. We ordered an order of PORK gyoza. It wasn't their fault that we got shrimp gyoza instead of pork gyoza. What a pleasant surprise as this place is located in the barren foodland that is Tilton. Upon entering the Green Ginger you notice first the decor. It's dark and interesting as if you've gone into a cavern. The waiter was pleasant, as most are in Chinese restaurants. The food arrived from the kitchen with lightening speed; however, the two dishes we ordered did not appear to have just been slopped up from food that had not been freshly prepared. My string beans, chicken, and ginger dish was prepared well and tasted good. The string beans were still crunchy and the chicken was silky with lots of thinly-sliced fresh ginger scattered about. The California rolls I also ordered were good but the avocado could have been a touch more ripe. On their menu they have the option of ordering brown rice which more Chinese restaurants should do as well. I will defintely be returning for another visit. read more

Shrimp lo mein, shrimp with pea pods, and spring rolls were fine and as expected. However, fried rice with pork was horrible and after one bite, we threw it away. The texture of the rice was all wrong as if it was frozen and thawed repeatedly. It was stale. It was a complete disappointment, since we always liked their fried rice. I rarely eat here because I usually get takeout. Today I had lunch and was disappointed. The waitress tried to memorize my order and got it wrong. The soup was not hot. Several pieces of the pork had more connective tissue than I think is acceptable in a luncheon special. The waitress was obtrusive stopping by our table much more frequently than necessary. There were dirty tables and bus tables all around our table. The waiter first greeted us after we sat for almost 10 minutes and the only thing he said was "what do you want" he seemed annoyed and like he wanted nothing to do with us. This place is OK. It tries to be a combo Japanese and Chinese restaurant. I was hoping it was an old school Polynesian place but wasn't as they try to make the dishes a bit more Cantonese style and fails trying. For instance, the fried rice was a light brown vs the dark brown fried rice you'll typically find. The appetizers were OK. Crab Rangoons had scallions which I like but differs from the standard version found. Gai Poo Lo Mein missed the mark. Typically a big platter of stir fried assorted meats and seafood over lo mein with chicken fingers surrounding the platter. This was a very small portion version with no chicken fingers. Sauce had a hoisin sauce taste. The combo dish of sesame beef and orange chicken was disappointing. Food was drowned in sauce and chicken were chicken fingers. If you want to bring some Cantonese influence in your dishes, you need to batter the meat in a corn starch batter vs egg and flour wet batter. Our server was very friendly. Decent place but don't expect it to be an authentic Polynesian restaurant. read more

I ordered takeout from Green Ginger which I have many times in the past. We have been pleased with this place before and continue to give them business. This particular night we ordered many appetizers and 3 sushi rolls. After driving back to our house in Laconia (about 30 minutes), we opened the bag, that had been stapled by the restaurant, to find that there were no suchi rolls but had in fact paid for them. When I called to bring this to their attention the only suggestion they had was for us to drive back to get it. When I told them this was not an option they said they could credit our card for the missing food . The person on the phone did not apologize at all for their mistake or offer anything at all for the inconvenience. We are very disappointed how this was handled and will probably take our business to Lemongrass in Moultonborough in the future. read more

This a great place for a first date in Tilton. The townies stay out for the most part and the darkly lit dining area make this place perfect. They serve you a bowl of what can be best described of sweet chips. The meal choices are amazing I have eaten many of the different things off this menu and have been pleased with all of em'. Great Chinese, and Great Japanese food. The sushi bar is worth a mention not a huge fan myself though my friends all liked it. Also scorpion bowls copious amounts of booze in a snifter. Really great food and atmosphere. They have both Sushi and Chinese food. The Won Ton soup was the best I've had in years - the broth was very flavorful. We enjoyed Sake, Chicken Fried Rice, Seaweed salad and a PuPu platter for two. I was disappointed that the Chicken Fried Rice was plain and unexceptional. It could have used more mix-ins such as veggies. The front desk was very accommodating when I asked to charge my cell phone and our waiter was excellent. Got take out here last night. It was probably the worst chinese/japanese food I've ever had. Got the szechaun dumplings and there was no sign of any szechaun flavor. They were pretty much covered in peanut sauce, it tasted like I was eating peanut butter on a spoon. Also ordered the chicken pad thai and I've never seen pad thai like that. I'm from MA so maybe things are different in NH but the pad thai was pink, tasted strongly of something vinegar-like, and had pieces of tofu in it, which I did not order and was not explained. There were no vegetables in it at all either. I will give it a second star because my boyfriend said the lo mein was in line with what he has before. Overall, not a great experience. read more
