I have a crush on green crush =P I sampled cantaloupe and it was pretty yum. Honestly the cantaloupe was a little bit too sweet for my liking so I walked away without getting anything..but I couldn't stop thinking about it. I went back a week after and I was overwhelmed with the selections. I sampled different flavors and jokingly asked if I could mix them up. The wokers were nice enough to let me mix anything I wanted but I ended up with its pineapple drink. Remember the story of Goldilocks with 3 bears? Green crush is probably baby bear's drink because it is perfect. The temperature, sweetness and flavor are just perfect for agua fresca. The ice is floating on top with pulps @ the bottom of the drink. $3.60 got me a large size of pineapple agua fresca. It tastes so fresh and the ice is still there 3 hours later. It is one of the best agua frescas I've had so far. Flavors they had when I was there: rice, berry hibiscus, mix fruit, pineapple, cantaloupe, banana, and strawberry lemonade. Credit cards are accepted with no minimum. Service was friendly and great but I was confused when the lady didn't give me the credit card receipt. I was about to ask for it and she said: oh, I forgot to give you this. It was another receipt to pick up my drink. I asked for my receipt and she said: You want your receipt? Duh!! Aguas Frescas done right!! How have I not reviewed this place? I come all the time!! This is our usual stop after lunch at the food court to pick up something "healthy" for an afternoon snack. A "healthy" serving is the large!! It will last you the rest of the day for only 25c more than the medium. What usually happens when you walk by Green Crush? You get offered free samples of any of the aguas frescas you'd like! There is normally at least 10 different colorful flavors all displayed prominently with the ingredients/pulp/slices mixed in. I love mixing and matching to my hearts content. Some of my faves: Strawberry Horchata (1 of my own concoctions): It is actually really good! I was craving horchata and they have it, but it had a strong cinnamon flavor so I had to think of something to add to sweeten it up a little. In comes Strawberry Milk, its the perfect balance! MMMMMM Strawberry Milk is delish for that sweet strawberry and creaminess. Cantalop is really good and sweet when in season. Sometimes you can taste the added sugar, but it is a good choice. Mixed fruit is like punch, but healthy! Watermelon Pineapple, is yummy! Spicy Watermelon was good, but I could only drink so much of it, it was a little too much for me. This is so refreshing on a hot summer afternoon! Even though its almost winter, I still come back for the aguas frescas!! Get easy ice, that way, you get more agua fresca! This is my favorite place to get agua frescas. There are two sizes -- the larger size is only 75 cents extra and you are going to want more of the drink anyways. The workers are always really friendly and helpful every time I'm here. The drinks are bright and beautiful and you can sample as much as you want! I am so addicted to the watermelon drink. It tastes so fresh and sweet. I also had the mixed drink (which was pretty much a bit of all of the drinks they had mixed together) and it was so delicious. The cucumber-lime is also a refreshing drink that has slight notes of citrus and a coolness from the crushed mint leaves. They also have the spicy picante drink in mango, watermelon and pineapple. It comes with a beautiful display of sliced mangoes with the spicy tamarind concoction. Whoa, whoa, WHOA! Wait just a damn second.....Montebello FINALLY gets a healthy place??? My mind is blown right now! Born and raised in Montebello. We never really had the best places to eat. Of course, just when I move away they bring all these great places. I am down visiting my family and I decided to drop by the MontebelloTown Center. I mean The Shops at Montebello (how sophisticated) because I wanted to use my free underwear coupon at Victoria Secrets before it expired. I was shocked to see that this mall has improved so much! Cooler stores, a nicer layout and now Green Crush. I walked past it and thought, "No way. I must be dreaming. Finally a healthy option in Montebello!" I just had to try it, The corner location was bustling with all kinds of people wanting to try their fresh juices. They have jugs of fresh juice and about 6 guys just waiting to give samples. Of course I tried the pineapple, which was so fresh that it tasted as sweet as sugar cane, and the spicy watermelon which had an interesting bite to it. I would definitely recommend the spicy watermelon to anyone who wants something sweet but is trying to lose weight. The watermelon will flush out your system and the cayenne pepper will rev your metabolism, Perfect for a caliente dia. I decided to get the Green 4 which was kale, spinach, celery, pineapple (to add some sweetness,) lemon, ginger and I added cactus. What a treat! My whole system feels restarted! It was pressed fresh and had just the right amount of sweetness. I was in health heaven! This is an amazing concept for a small town on the rise. Agua frescas....what a beautiful drink. For those that don't know (and came here for all the 5-star reviews), you're in for a treat. A treat full of fresh blended fruit, organic energy, and... you get the drift. It sounds so simple, but why isn't it a staple in American beverages? Me and the ladyfriend have been making homemade agua frescas for a few months, and when we saw this place on Yelp, we decided we had to try it out. After all, places with perfect Yelp ratings just don't exist. Located in the food court, Green Crush is a fruit lover's dream. For the health freaks, they have many different concoctions that include superfoods such as kale, spinach, ginger, cactus, wheatgrass, etc. Those are what their menu consists of. One day I will try them out (and surely love them). But the real stars of this place are the agua frescas. While the flavors are changed daily, they have the usual suspects: kiwi, pineapple, cantaloupe, watermelon, strawberry (sometimes with cream), mixed berry, strawberry lemonade, pomegranate, berry hibiscus, guava, and banana. I saw another yelper mention rice (horchata) and SPICY watermelon. Intrigued. These guys are $3.50 for a medium, and $3.75 for a large. So...you're getting a large. No tax. These things are a work of art. If Picasso was Mexican, and was really into fruit drinks, I imagine he would make something like this. Or if Gordon Ramsey were Mexican..same thing. Get one, and try not to infinitely love it. And if you're unsure as to what to get, no fear! They willingly give out free samples of any of their flavors. And there's no limit. You can sample every flavor to figure out which one you want. They know you'll get one, it's obvious. The hardest part is trying to figure out which one you want. Love this place. My favorites are the watermelon, guava and horchata. This is how it works. You walk up and they are more than happy to give you a sample of whatever flavor you want to try. Then you order at the cashier. Regular: $3.25 Large: $3.75 I get the regular because the large is just way too big for me and I'm trying to watch my calories. There's a lot of sugar in these drinks. So even if they encourage you to upgrade to the large, unless you're sharing it or are the type of person who gets the super size meal at McDonald's then a Regular is actually big enough for most. Another tip of you're watching calories, you can ask them to add water to it. I usually get the guava and ask them to first add 1/4 to 1/2 Cup of water to dilute the drink. The workers here are always enthusiastic and generous with their samples. They give great recommendations and are more than happy to help you find your favorite flavors! The watermelon is my personal favorite in the summer - sweet and refreshing to help me fight the summer heat! I also love the strawberry milk, guava, and mango... but nothing really beats the watermelon in my opinion! You can also customize and create your own drinks by mixing different flavors. Hooray for options! My most recent visit is probably among one of my worst mistakes in life - ha. While aware that I am severely incapable of handling anything remotely spicy, feeling adventurous and fueled by my love for agua fresca, I had to try the spicy drinks! I opted for the spicy watermelon, but unfortunately, they only had the spicy mango available this evening. So sure, why not? I wanted to stop by express since they were having a 40% off everything for Labor Day and checked their website and saw that express was there. So on the way back from lunch we walked in and yes I have to say the mall sucks. But I saw this long line for green crush and wanted to get something. We shared a large guava drink and it was great.
