The "Nieves" are only $3, and you can choose any two flavors. That's a steal compared to the big chains, which charge around $7 for two scoops. The portions are generous, enough for sharing! They offer Chamoy or Tajin on top. My wife had chocolate, and my son got strawberry; they both loved how smooth the ice cream was. I was told their ice cream is either water or milk-based. I'd heard the Chamangos were a must-try, and that's an understatement. I asked the staff for recommendations, and she was incredibly sweet and helpful. I was staying in El Monte and got recommended this gem by my friend who's a local. I knew I had to try it immediately and that's what my boyfriend and I did. Store was small and service was great. My boyfriend got the chamango with mango and pineapple ice cream. This is probably the best chamango I've ever had in my life. It took me back to my childhood where I would always get a chamango with my friends after school. The ice cream was not too sweet and there were also mango chunks at the bottom which were divine. I got the elote in a cup which was really good. It had tons of butter and cheese. This used to be my favorite place, but lately the new employees have been very rude, and it feels like the owner is making the business go downhill with these strict and confusing rules.My sister asked for extra chamoy and was told they couldn't do that. She was willing to pay extra, so she asked how much it would be. The employee told her $3, and when my sister asked why it was so much just for extra chamoy on her ice cream, the worker said they would have to sell her a whole $3 cup of chamoy. My sister was confused and said never mind who would want a whole cup of chamoy just for a 3 scoop ice cream? Today son wanted ice cream and even offered to pay for mine. When we placed the order, the employee saw he had a $5 bill that looked old (but it was not ripped or damaged), and she refused to accept it. I told her it was still valid money, but she said the owner doesn't accept old bills. I told her they should have a sign posted if that's the case. She responded by saying that next time I come in, I should tell the owner myself. Very rude employees. I don't know if the owner is changing things, but they really need to put up signs about these new rules. I will not be coming back. Rude employees and stingy ass owner. read more

I have tried the mango, vanilla, watermelon, lemon, guava. All so good. The fresas con crema are okay, just depends on how you like the cream because it was not runny. I prefer the mango and pineapple sherbets but there are many to choose from They will let you sample ice creams and gave generous size samples.
