My meat-eating boyfriend and I dropped by for lunch on a weekday. The staff told us they just reopened after a period of renovations. The interior has been spruced up. It's bright, airy, and modern. We ordered 3 dishes to share: cauliflower wings, broccoli Mac n cheese, and the seitan chick'n sandwich. We also got 2 kombuchas and with tax and tip, the order came to $60. The food was yummy. I can't say it's the best vegan place I have ever been to, but it's definitely quite tasty. My favourite was the cauliflower wings followed by the seitan chick'n sandwich. I'm not crazy about nutritional yeast, so I didn't love the Mac n cheese. Overall, the menu has many options to choose from, which is a big plus in my opinion. 3.5 Stars I'm torn. I really want to jump on the bandwagon and say that the smoothies here are out of this world, but I can't. Yes, this was refreshing after a day of hiking the falls of Hamilton. Yes, it was very healthy. Yes, service was amazingly friendly and cheerful. Yes, the atmosphere was relaxing and trendy. No, the smoothies were not amazing. Don't get me wrong, they were good, but they didn't exactly taste like what they were supposed to taste like. I think they just need to reformulate the amounts of the ingredients that go into the smoothies. All of their smoothies have a spinach and kale base. I ordered the Sobi-Smoothie "Strawberries and Cream", which had strawberries, bananas, coconut milk, almonds, and cranberries. My cousin ordered the Mumbai Mango, which had mangoes, bananas, and coconut milk. Our other cousin ordered the Chocolate Cherry. While I enjoyed tasting all the smoothies, I felt that they mostly tasted the same; the only smoothie where I could taste all the flavors was the Chocolate Cherry. The use of coconut milk in the other two smoothies was extremely heavy-handed because that was the dominant flavor in both of them. You couldn't even taste the bananas, which are usually a very strong flavor profile. It felt like we were mostly drinking the coconut milk smoothies with a hint of strawberries or a hint of mangoes, not the other way around. That said, you definitely feel good about yourself when you eat here because you know exactly what you're putting into your body. The GSB has a menu of foods, smoothies, and snacks that are all 100% organic and vegan; they are also an extremely green business (no pun intended) and compost all their waste -- even their cups, straws, and food containers are compost friendly. All in all, I'd check this place out again if I ever go back to Hamilton; I'd probably ask for less coconut milk though. read more

My hotel suggested green bar. Great stop for healthy vegan options. I ordered the detox smoothie. You can add superfoods at a minimal up charge. Hemp seeds, Hemp protein, flax, matcha, maca. I didn't get food but everything I saw come out looked delicious and fresh. read more

Great place! Gluten Free and Vegan so it covers a wide range for many people. I had a Gorilla green with some shots of Tumeric and chia seeds, amazing. It actually tastes really good, they always put in spinach and kale which make it tastes good. I really love the Green Bar! Really interesting dishes, cool interior decor, and lots of healthy options (snacks, drinks, brunch/lunch/dinner, dessert). I can't wait to go back and try more! My girlfriend and I ventured to Green Bar as we like to give new and different vegan restaurants a try and we like to pretend we are healthy people. I ordered the Cafe Mocha smoothie because I thought I needed a coffee type kick. For their smoothies being kale-based, it was surprisingly so good and smooth! It tasted nothing like kale, and everything like banana and coffee! I want to try all the smoothie flavours immediately! We ordered some lunch and I got the Green Goddess Bowl and my girlfriend got the vegan Mac and Cheese. Our food came to our table seriously quick - so quickly I was barley finished my smoothie that also was finished being made really quick! I started into my Bowl and it was packed with flavour - the cilantro lime dressing was a perfect pairing with the dish. It was super filling and I couldn't finish so I packed it up to go. My girlfriends Mac and Cheese was really creamy and tasty - also a large portion that we packed half to go! Love this place! They have great smoothies (pretty standard pricing, $6 - 10) and I love their raw and vegan desserts. I had their raw salted caramel turtle ($3.95) the other night and it was so delicious. It's a small portion, but super rich and filling, and I would say it's great for splitting into two. I also love their raw cookie (2 for $4.95): it's super filling and contains a ton of good for you ingredients like nuts, sunflower seeds, cranberries, hemp seed etc. I've also tried their raw vegan pudding (made with cashews etc.) and it was SO GOOD ($3.95). Highly recommend just trying the different desserts they have displayed, you won't regret it! They have gluten free, raw and vegan options so it's a great option for people who have dietary restrictions and want to eat something yummy and healthy. Their ingredients are also organic, so you can feel good about what you're putting into your body. In terms of actual meals, they have different bowls on the menu, cold noodles in the open fridge, and they're really accommodating to changes in your order. They have wifi, so it's also a nice place to sit, eat and study for a while. the space is pretty open and the lighting is good, so definitely recommend if you need a change of pace from your typical coffee shop. Overall, this place is great! There's street parking nearby with free parking after 6pm, or a parking lot on the street behind James that's $1 an hour. Will definitely be back! read more

I absolutely love GSB! Our family goes there almost every week! Our favourite items are the Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese, Green Rabbit Bowl, Superhero Rice Bowl, and Muddy Monkey smoothie! I would highly recommend any of the items on the brunch menu (which is before noon on Sundays), but I would like to especially highlight the waffles, as well as the avocado toast (which is sooo good!!!!) I would definitely say that the food is very well priced for the awesome quality! read more

The bowls are out of this world delicious! Try the superhero bowl. The entire restaurant is vegan and minimally processed. Lots of gluten free options as well. Really great smoothie for the price. So glad that ALL of their smoothies start with a spinach & kale base, cause I try to make my smoothies as green as I can. You can keep it super basic, or add on fancy things like protein powder, matcha, chia seeds, flax, spirullina, any of those awesome things (0.75 for one, $1.75 for 3!) Love love love this place!! I go here regularly on my lunch hour - usually to get the Green Rabbit Bowl which is a rice bowl with spinach, fresh veggies and a super addictive tahini ume sauce. The staff are also super friendly and accommodating. Yes it is a bit on the pricier side but organic food always is. Every month they feature different smoothie special and have daily food features. I also love how they are constantly creating new smoothie/food/desserts to try as its nice to shake things up. My favourites are: Green Rabbit Bowl, West Indies Bowl, Mumbai Mango Smoothie and all of the macaroons! read more
