Our first time there and yet all three of us chose to the pan-seared sea bream, shared sides of jeweled rice (a refreshing twist to traditional fried rice), zucchini, asparagus & ALSO lobster linguine! I've been to Isabelle's a few times now and have to admit I LOVE the outdoor patio. Great view of the lake and the atmosphere is stunning and cozy. I usually go for the cocktails or wine which are always great, but the last time we decided to try a couple appetizers and were not disappointed. We got an order of oysters and the burrata. The burrata was one of the best I've had. The combination of the cheese with the honey and thyme was incredible, along with the grilled sourdough. Will be back simply for the burrata and will have to try some other items on the menu. I will say that my preference is the outdoor space compared to the indoor restaurant. We felt like the indoor atmosphere was a bit cold, if that makes sense! The tables and seating were so far apart, so it didn't feel very intimate. Isabelle is a beautiful restaurant for brunch during the summer. It's right by the water and it's so nice during the patio season! I see they also have private rooms available to book for special occasion as well. Parking at the hotel is expensive, but within 10 minute walk you can find street parking and city parking lots that only charge $2/hr. They don't offer brunch of Sundays but their regular lunch menu is pretty decent as well. We enjoyed the steak and frites, trout, and octupus that we got. The coffee items are average, don't expect specialty cafe quality. Service was pretty good overall. It does get busy during 12-1pm peak, but our waiter was very friendly and came over to check on us a few times throughout. But ultimately, you're definitely here for the view, so be sure you specify that you want a window seat when you make the reservation. read more

The dinner service was great: waiters were friendly and accommodating. The lake view was beautiful. If I was to rate the service alone, the score would be five stars. However, I expected more from this luxurious-looking restaurant. I had the rotisserie chicken; it was really tender and juicy. It was served with tangy pickles, creamy slaw, and mustard sauce, all under a bed of fries. However, it was lacking in flavour. When I hear rotisserie chicken, I think a flavourful whole juicy fowl. The dish contained only a wing with part of the breast, and the leg of the chicken. That's forgivable when the chicken is seasoned well, but I found the taste lacking. It was cooked correctly, at least, and the toppings were tasty. So I'll give it that. The shrimp linguini was somewhat disappointing. The shrimp themselves were excellently tender, unlike most seafood pasta dishes I've had where they usually overcook the shrimp. But here they did a good job. The pesto, on the other hand, was bland for my taste. Traditional pesto is supposed to be pungent from the basil, creamy from the pine nuts, nutty and savoury from the pecorino and the Parmiggiano-Reggiano. I just did not get that from this one. The texture of the pesto was also lacking. I assume it was made by blending the ingredients rather than by pounding the pesto. Pounding is the proper technique and delivers a creamier product. Blended pesto is fine, but I expected a luxurious restaurant to not bypass proper technique. The sea bream was tender and tasty. I don't feel the curry added much to the dish, but I can't say it wasn't decently executed. The ravioli was by far the best tasting dish. The creamy sauce and tender filling worked really worked together. The ravioli melted in your mouth. I just wish that they had either given more ravioli (I only counted six) or had added a little more filling. For the relatively expensive price and luxurious look, I expected more. Every dish tasted good, don't get me wrong. But it was not the experience I hoped. Friends tell me they enjoyed lunch here, but dinner was, in my opinion, lacking. I'll be back some other day to give lunch a try, but I consider dinner at this spot disappointing. read more

Three meals - five stars While staying at the Pearle I got to try its in-house restaurant. Food and service were top notch. The grilled octopus dinner entree was tender and flavourful - mildly spicy with olives and fingerling potatoes in a Mediterranean sauce. The mushroom Benedict was just perfect. The yolk was not runny nor dry. When cut it would just defy gravity for that perfect split second! Farm to table roasted potatoes complete breakfast. For brunch I had the steak frites accompanied by a pear spritz. The mustard sauce gave the whole dish that Zing! Overall this is restaurant breaks the stereotype of a "hotel" restaurant. It's top notch and exudes a NYC bistro vibe. I will return for sure. read more

Stopped in for lunch on our way to Niagara. Isabelle is a nice waterfront restaurant located in the Pearle Hotel with a large patio area. We tried the whipped feta, labneh with eggplant dips and the garlic focaccia to start. The dips came with warm, freshly made pitas and were both very good. For mains tried the halloumi sandwich, the gnocchi pomodoro, and roasted cauliflower which we shared. The sandwich was tasty but a little salty. Would have preferred a little less cheese and more veggies. The gnocchi was simple but very well prepared with large pillowy gnocchi. The cauliflower was very good with the chimichuri topping. I enjoyed sharing it but think it would have gotten tired of it if I had the whole cauliflower steak as my entree. Overall, very enjoyable meal, with excellent service and a great water view. Lovely ambiance. Right on the lakefront on the 2nd floor of the Pearle Hotel. Wonderful service (shout out to our server Shannon). We shared the Ahi Tuna Ceviche and then hubby had the octopus and I had the trout. Good selection of wines (well represented Ontario wines) but the spritz was a great cocktail. **3.5 star review** I came here for a bridal shower. It's a lovely restaurant inside of the Pearle Hotel. I parked at the lot directly across from the hotel assuming it was their lot but then I found out afterwards that it didn't even belong to the hotel..and the hotel staffs mentioned that they would've given free valet parking for their guest. I wish I had knew about this earlier so I didn't have to pay for parking?? The restaurant is brightly lit and overlooked the harbour. It was beautiful. They have coat check available for free. Service was amazing..they were nice an attentive. I was seated upstairs and that room was completely booked off for the bridal party. They had alcoholic and non-alcoholic mimosas, coffee, latte, and tea included in the package. The food was unfortunately my least favourite part. The salad was a generous portion but lacked flavour. The parfait was okay, but would've preferred more purée or fruits. The avocado toast was a bit soggy and I didn't like the beets. The poached egg on top was perfect and the potatoes were tasty. The banana bread French toast -- I didn't try but my cousin said it was way too sweet since they drenched everything in syrup. The quiche I think was the fan favourite among the other guest...I think I should've chose that instead. The sorbet was huge. They had so many flavours to choose from I actually couldn't decide on what I wanted but then they gave me the wrong one. I asked for berry but they gave me blueberry ginger...I enjoyed it a lot though! The lemon lime was my second favourite. This restaurant is gorgeous. The view is gorgeous. I'm sure when their outdoor seating opens, that is gorgeous too. The staff was so friendly and polite. We had a baby with us and our waitress was great at asking about our boundaries regarding the baby. She was friendly to the kids as well, and knew a lot about the menu. The food was good. The menu isn't large and there were things missing you might have expected them to have - I.e. they had lobster eggs benefit and eggs florentine but no classic Benny. What they do make, it's done well. Nothing particularly stood out as amazing though the banana bread French toast was a touch on the unique side which made it the best order at the table. All of that said if I'm being honest, I just don't think the food is worth the cost. I really wanted to love it because the vibes and service are on point. Food and atmosphere was very good but it was unfortunately let down by the service, especially for a place presenting itself as a higher end dining experience. It was small details such as the aloof server struggling to answer a question about an appetizer, cloth napkins that were still damp and, when they apologized and took them away, they weren't replaced until we had to ask after we had already started eating and my partner had spilled some food on their clothing. We were staying at the hotel and had come down a couple of times of breakfast. It is in the first level above the lobby easily accessible by the circular stairs. A pretty new restaurant after the opening of the Pearle Hotel & Spa - this place is top notch for customer service and also some of the best Mediterranean food!! The seating area is quite serene. Each setting is a set of gold cutlery and a beautiful water glass. We had the Isabelle breakfast, the Grilled Bacon and the Yogurt Pancakes. The grilled potato with the fall fruit sauce was the perfect marriage to the bacon and sourdough. We ate everything except the plate. If you're in Burlington, you'll want to check out Isabelle. I would say they're a crossover between coastal (Mediterranean, Californian), fusion cuisine and locally sourced ingredients, so expect surprise, fresh and delicious. By chance we ordered two dishes both with chili oil, it definitely adds a nice kick to the seafood dishes, but you can still taste the other flavours. The risotto was very "corny" and lighter compared to the traditional risotto. And the dessert looked like a piece of art! Staff were super friendly and seated us immediately, but took them awhile to give us the menu but other than that, the food was great & we loved the middle eastern style in their dishes. The service overall is great and they are very accommodating. My only criticism is that they don't have many (really just one) vegan option. Mostly came for the view but was pretty impressed with the food. I've heard a lot of mixed things about the service, it was sometimes slow but our server was actually really pleasant. We sat out on the patio and the table was a bit wiggly. For starters we got the labneh dip with two pita's - this was definitely the best thing we tried, the pita itself is worth ordering. We also got the prawns and it's quite expensive for the amount you get, you could probably pass on these. For mains we got the salmon and short rib. The short rib was very good and the salmon was pretty good too. If you are coming in for a full meal, you should expect it's going to cost a lot. I would probably recommend just coming for a few small dishes (mainly the dip). read more

This restaurant is absolutely amazing. We spent the weekend in Burlington and this was my favourite spot. The view of the lake is spectacular, located in the sexy Pearl Hotel. Everything was so yummy I forgot to take pics except for the dessert. Brunch menu was delicious. Wr tried 2x their toast. I went in for breakfast and ordered their 3 egg breakfast. It was the worst I've ever had. It consisted of 3 very unappetizing thick slices of pork belly; overcooked and dry scrambled eggs; dry toast with no butter. ItIt was all piled on a plate which was too small with no effort at presentation. It was unbelievably bad for $27.00. The only upside was that the server was very nice and was able to cut the bill by 50%. Though it was not his decision to make, it should have been comped. This restaurant has no class and terrible food, at least for breakfast. I'll never go back. read more

Amazing! The squash heavenly, baked eggplant a flavor explosion in your mouth, beef skewer perfect. Excellent champagne and wine pairings to complete every bite. Chris, our server, was funny, attentive, and made our experience fantastic. Even the hostess, who found a solution to accessing vaccine information (one person in our party forgot their phone with the passport), and security who made sure we safely got to our car (a snow storm made it slippery outside) made sure every moment of our dining experience was excellent. read more

The wine list is extensive but it is ridiculous that a restaurant just beside the Niagara Peninsula has so few local wines. I counted over 50 Italian reds as an example and only 6 Canadian. The cocktail menu listed 3 drinks, but one wasn't available. Other cocktails were served as far as we could see. There was no beer on the list but again we could see some available. The drinks list included 8 aperitivo, so would appear to be a feature of the restaurant but staff did not know what they were, and were surprised when I ordered one. A big issue is staffing. Staff are not knowledgeable about the menu or drinks. Waiter was intrusive but not responsive, and had to be reminded twice about the bottle of wine we had ordered to come for our main course.
