We stopped here because I'm celiac and this place advertises gluten free options. One staff said all the bread was gluten free while the other stated all their bread actually has gluten, so I ended up not ordering anything with bread. They then told us that we couldn't eat here at 3:00 PM because they close in ten minutes when hours are 7AM-6PM on Apple Maps. Also their chai latte is just a Tazo tea with milk. RACIST AND DECEPTIVE MANAGEMENT I recently interviewed for the position of General manager of the Stamford location. The hiring process was extremely unprofessional as the district manager lost my email on two separate occasions. After about two weeks they reached out to me asking to come in at a specific time. When I finally was able to sit down for the interview, they had another candidate also interviewing for the role. They had me wait for around 45 mins because the other candidate was extremely late for her interview, and thus our time had overlapped. After my interview, the district manager told me the position was actually already taken-which was already strange -but was so impressed by my interview and resume, that they wanted me to be the manager of a different location, and referred me to the VP of operations for a secondary interview. During the second interview with the VP, she asked multiple times if I was receiving other offers for work, which I answered yes, but let her know that I would most likely be moving forward with Green & Tonic if given the opportunity. About a week later I received an offer letter from the district manager and a date to start. Because of this, I declined two other job opportunities and decided to make Green and Tonic my choice. My first day of work was mainly signing paperwork, setting up direct deposit, and a bit of hands on training-all of which went very well. However, the very next morning I went into work to begin my second day, moving around the counter to clock in and the district manager stood in front of me and told me that the new location (Glenville) that I was to be the manager of all of a sudden had ceased construction and my job was to be terminated effective immediately. I asked for further explanation, and he simply told me that I was hired "at will basis" and there was nothing I could do. I told him that I had declined two higher paying offers to join the team and his answer remained the same. I asked why would he not let me know prior to me coming in and he responded with "Corparate told me at 11pm and I didn't want to bother you" After this I asked if I could speak with the VP that interviewed me and he told me that she was busy and would email me when she got the chance. I never received an email from the VP. About a week later, I see on Instagram that Green & Tonic was still opening that location and they flat out lied to me and terminated me without cause. I am a black man and there is not a single black person in leadership or amongst their staff, and it seemed the moment that someone who didn't look like me applied, they immediately fired me and went with them, lying to me and dragging me along in the process. If you're black I would not work nor shop at this business as they clearly have a problem with us. I'm the type of person who never likes bringing race into things, but what happened here was quite clear. Definitely NOT a fan anymore. A few months ago I ordered a veggie burger from Green & Tonic through our company's account on Seamless. For my first time with them everything turned out wonderful! The following week I ordered the same exact burger only to find that it didn't come with hamburger buns. I called in and the manager tried to convince me that I should have selected that option on the menu. I was kind of puzzled because when previously ordered, I had to do no such thing, PLUS since when do burgers come without buns?? Kinda like peanut butter with no jelly! After fixing my order, management assured me that adding hamburger buns will be a feature on my next order. Needless to say, the following week I dealt with the same thing. To top it off the veggie burger crumbled like the twin towers at the slightest touch. I decided to take a break from them for a few months, hoping their service would improve, but after today I WILL NEVER order from them again. While eating my chickpea masala I spat out a full blown fingernail hanging. I thought I was loosing my mind so I asked my colleagues for a second opinion. I adore the avocado tartine and could eat that every day! The skin glow juice is incredible and the daily detox juice is a must. I will consider doing a weekly juice fast and cleanse. I have tried a lot of different Açaí bowls in my life, and Green & Tonic's Açaí bowl is by far the best. It taste's great whether you eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert- my husband and I love it. We love it so much we never try anything new, but after hearing about how great their newest product is we had to try it for ourselves. It's a vegan grilled cheese made with cashew cheese on gluten-free bread and it did not disappoint. I paired it with their basil tomato soup and it was a lethal combo. Layla and Camilla (sp?) lit up the store with their smiles and a warm, friendly "welcome!" as my friend and I walked in to find something to drink after a late afternoon walk. As they explained the variety of smoothies, cold-pressed juices, and desserts on offer to us, we were struck by how they both knew everything there is to know about what was for sale...by heart! Layla patiently listed the differences among the items as well as ingredients in each (smoothies, desserts) we'd asked about without once looking up at the board. I've been here twice now and while the smoothies and smoothie bowls are delicious, Green & Tonic leaves a lot to be desired in terms of service and overall experience. They're definitely doing a lot of things well! I had the Zenergy smoothie bowl and it was great--there were lots of toppings and their granola is delicious. They have tons of healthy and vegan options and plenty of interesting ingredients like bee pollen. The prices are also fairly reasonable for the smoothies and smoothie bowls and the portions are generous. Unfortunately, the store itself is not great. First of all, the store has a very chaotic atmosphere, which is particularly incongruous with their whole health and wellness theme. It's a beautiful space, with bright and minimalistic decor and lots of plants, but when I went on a Sunday morning they were blasting pop music so loudly I could hardly hear the employee I was speaking with. I also have noticed that they seem extremely disorganized when it comes to their service and the process behind the counter. The first time I went, two different people took my friend's order and they each made her the same smoothie bowl without communicating with each other. The girl behind the counter today was also frantically running around and haphazardly tossing the blenders into the sinks, despite the store being nearly empty. I always feel a little on edge when I walk into this store. I think they could really improve their organizational system for a more peaceful experience for customers. I asked if I could get the Açaí bowl without almond milk, which didn't seem like it should be a problem because their sign advertised that things could be made nut free. The employee told me it wasn't possible and that smoothies are pre-made, but then I saw her make a smoothie that wasn't pre-made. One of my friends ordered the Up and At Em smoothie, which was frankly quite gross. It had a chalky texture and a sour flavor. It didn't taste like coffee at all. To be fair, the employee was nice and accommodating and made her another one. Yelped this place driving home from Stamford. Ordered the Zenergy smoothie and added vanilla protein - matcha green tea, banana, spinach, almond butter, coconut mylk, cinnamon and bee pollen. Really tasty combination of ingredients, all the ingredients blended together really well and the added protein didn't mess with the flavor. It had a weird smell and I ate it as fast as I could but couldn't finish it. My friend kept saying "it smells weird". Also service is inconsistent. Sometimes they say "have a seat, we'll warm it and bring it to you. My most recent visit the girl said nothing just walked away. I stood there for a bit but she then was busy talking to the other girl behind the counter so I just sat down. After 5 minutes I went back up to the counter to inquire about my food and girl #1 looks at another guy and says "oh, did you do it?" He gave her an 'I don't know what you're talking about' look. Then went back to the kitchen and brought my plate out, which looked like it had been sitting back there for awhile. The space is bright and open, with ample seating and thoughtful displays of products and reading material. Instantly regretting every Cheeto and McDonald's fountain soda that has polluted your body up until that point, you are suddenly very aware of what REAL food looks like. Veggie greens and reds, whole grains, the bright orange of a Tumeric Tonic in the cooler, rich gold honey being stirred into tea........ it's like a sleek and streamlined farmer's market. Grab and go. I'll swear by the Immunitea (ginger tea, lemon, echinacea, apple cider, raw honey) to chase away a cold, the sesame teriyaki nuts are an awesome snack and the Fire Cider (now with its own cool shot glass!) is a great twist on your ACV routine. This is my absolute favorite juice/smoothie spot. I've been a regular at this location for more than 8 years and in my opinion better than the Greenwich location. It's much more spacious, brighter and less noisy. My usual order is the Açaí bowl, but I can be adventurous too and have explored the other bowl specials they offer. They change them up as well which makes the company even more worthwhile. I prefer thicker smoothies over juices and watery ones, which is why this place gets my 5 stars. Between the smoothies and the smoothie bowls you cannot go wrong, and you'll be full for hours. Protein packed, antioxidant bursting, and fueled with fruits and nuts, these products are to die for in the morning. The flavors are also incredibly rich and natural, you can tell there is no added sugars or other bolsters. A little pricey, but nothing you wouldn't expect at an upscale juice spot in NYC. This past Monday, April 2, 2018 I got a iced green tea lemonade from the Green and Tonic in Cos Cob. After taking a few sips, I noticed something floating inside my cup. It was then I realized there was a FAKE NAIL inside of my drink. I was disgusted, especially after already consuming some of it. I emailed the company, never heard back, and then had to call them about the issue. As someone who was a regular customer, I can say I am shocked and do not plan on coming back to the store especially with the way this company handled it. When I eventually got in touch with the company the manager of the store claimed that there is no way the nail could've come from anyone of her employees because they don't wear fake nails. In order to keep me from complaining further the company offered me a gift card, when I received it today the gift card amount is less than what I had spent in the store the day of the issue. This is a health concern and they seemed to care less. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I am reviewing this place for the bottled juice alone, as I am a hard core green juicer and have traveled far and wide to enjoy the pleasures of green juice. This place has really delicious organic raw juices, pressed on a Norwalk/hydraulic press. Their green juices, even the ones with apple / pineapple in them, are not as sweet as Blueprint's (which I think is a plus!), and it's a heck of a lot more convenient than going to Liquiteria or to The Squeeze juice truck at Union Square in NYC. Green and Tonic is adamant about the 4 day shelf life of their juices, with the tops of bottles clearly dated with their consume by dates. (Other places say their juices are good for 7 days or longer...um, doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of having fresh, organic raw pressed juice?). Free parking out in front and convenient access off I-95 just past the Darien Whole Foods make this a green juice lovers paradise. There's also a full menu of organic raw vegan foods, which look interesting but which I haven't tried yet. Big, huge thumbs up! I usually order the Kale Caesar Salad and I find it so delicious and filling...and healthy (I assume). They are new so they don't have nutrition information yet. I'm hoping they get it soon though.
