Great place to relax, see some wildlife, and have fun. I will definitely be back. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

What a awesome birthday with my family! Loved it! Checked in and on our way to get on the bus then BAM we were floating... Can't wait for our next trip to GA!

Green acres was a cute little area to do kayaking! In terms of offers, it's pretty standard. Mostly universal life jackets, single kayaks only, and they bus you to the drop off. All of the staff were very kind and no complaints. In reality, you're paying to go on the river and spend the day outside doing nothing so it was never really about the amenities. Somewhat unrelatedly to green acres, the portion of Whitewater river we were on had a good mix of fast and slow areas where you could make pit stops to eat snacks, etc. The scenery is quiet but you do pass a few homes on the water. A few miles into the trip they do have a snack shack you can stop at which is great if you didn't pack enough food or drinks!

My friends and I had an AWESOME time kayaking at Green Acres. It was a seamless process. Only $40 to rent a kayak for the day. A bus takes you a few miles down the river to a spot where you then get to float / paddle back to where your car is parked. The river was a bit low when we went but we still had a blast. There were other little parts of the river to stop on the side and relax. The river kayak is a total of 8 miles! So it is a bit of a work out but so much fun and well worth it! Highly recommend bringing a water proof bag and sunscreen! (A lot of my friends and I got burnt!)

First time kayaking ever and I couldn't have been happier with my experience here!! I was super nervous ahead of time, not knowing how hard it might be and worrying about falling in. I didn't need to worry about either thing, as the current carries you most of the way and you don't have to paddle a lot. There were a group of 4 of us and none of us fell in! We did bottom out at one point in a part that got too shallow but that was all. The water seemed super clean and never seemed really deep (but you wear a life vest if it's deeper just in case). It is single seater kayaks, with no kids under 12 or under a certain weight and no pets. But a great experience overall!! We did the 3 mile route in 2 hours, not really trying to go any faster. A lovely way to spend a morning/afternoon. Next time possibly going to try the 8 mile route!

Very impressed with the amount of time and effort that Green Acres has put into reopening during this COVID time. You must make a reservation online prior to showing up, including the date and specific time that you will be there. They are only offering single kayaks on the 8 mile trip; no tubes, rafts, or double kayaks at the moment. The check-in areas are clearly marked with arrows pointing in the direction you should be walking and X's on the ground for social distancing. They do require that you wear some sort of facial covering on the bus (mask, bandana, T-shirt pulled up over your mouth, etc. If you do not have any of those, they do offer masks for purchase in the shop (I think they were 99 cents). Overall I love Green Acres and think they run a great business, I just wish it wasn't so pricy! It seems that the price goes up a little but each year.

The waiver asked my age. Not date of birth. My age. Who knew that knowing the age demographic of floating on a river was a thing. I jot down my age. 48. "What are you doing?" I thought. The possibility of drowning, the brutality of the sun and then throw in my penchant for laziness it doesn't really sound like a fun day. Also the older I get, the less stuff I want to do. I don't really want to do anything that involves physical labor such as paddling down a river. However when softball wife (Linds) says, "It's Carley's birthday. Let's do this!" You do this. Still the idea of sitting in a kayak for hours doesn't excite me at all but I'm going to do this and I do this because you can't not love Carley. We proceed to load the school bus that's driven by Marla (not real name). She's wearing a Cicada shirt. "I like your t-shirt!" "They're available over at the gift shop. Get yours today." You have to applaud her Glengarry Glen Ross approach to always be closing. After loading up, Marla throws the bus into drive to take us to the start of our river adventure. The drive itself is on a narrow two-lane road. Today, she's qualifying for the pole position at Watkins Glen. I'm not nervous about her because she know the road well but still, I'm gripping the seat so tight that my fingers are cramping. I'm just hoping there's no Larry Wayne Mahoney coming the other way. Eight miles later and safely at the trailhead, the 13 of us embark in our individual kayaks. The river is peaceful. The only negative is the cacophony of Cicadas is deafening. Almost maddening. I get some joy watching the dozens and dozens, who realize water is not their friend, float by me. It's like Jonestown but the bodies are on the water. Regardless of the mass death scene, the cicadas that are still alive along the shore and in the trees are still maintaining an excruciating 90 decibels. Less than a 1/2 mile later, we make our first stop along the shore. Coolers opened. Drinks imbibed. Stories shared. Music played. Ben and Madison, a new couple, are friends with Carley and are introduced to the rest of our group. Madison brings a Frito Lay variety pack which contains bags of Flaming Hot Cheetos. She's immediately my new friend. Over the next few hours we make several stops along the riverbank and we continue the process until finally we reached a problem. Coolers emptied. Drinks gone. Stories told. Music over. The day ended unfortunately. But fortunately this day we channeled Bessie Anderson Stanley. We lived. We laughed. We loved. The Whitewater River is an allegory of life. Many parts provide safe harbor to bask in the presence of the friends you came with or you made. It's joyful. It's peaceful. It's happiness. There's also some areas which you detest. Those places where you are alone and there are some rocky, muddy, annoying parts where you can occasionally find yourself stuck. It's not that your friends won't or can't help you it's just sometimes you have to go at it alone. So you stick your paddle in the muck and get yourself out of it. Your friends are glad you made it. After this 8-mile river trip, I don't feel my age. I don't feel I've reached the end of this river of life. To me this trip is not even halfway done. I just hope when the trip is over I can get a t-shirt. Happy birthday Carley!!!

We came here for the 4th of July, expecting to wait in line, so we came bright and early at 9am. There were plenty of cars in the parking lot, and people were tailgating kayaking waiting for their entire groups to show up. We signed our waiver forms, paid, and made it through to the life jackets in impressive time. It was easy to keep our group together and use the restroom before getting on the bus. They bus you the 8mi to the starting point so you can float back to your cars. They have 2,000+ single person kayaks, so there was no shortage of boats for people. Luckily the river carries you along, you only paddle if you want to avoid trees or banks. You could float the entire way if you wanted. For the fourth of July, there were people taking drink breaks on the banks and socializing. We planned to spend 3-4 hours on the river as mentioned, we ended up staying for 8. At the end of the river, there's a cove to jump off a ledge and sit and swim with the other people who have stopped. **I'd recommend drinks and water, plenty of sunscreen, hat, waterproof speaker, and the waterproof cell phone case on a lanyard (they sell them at the gift shop). These items were my lifeline. Otherwise, I had an awesome 4th of July, first time cabrewing, and will return here before trying new places because it's a staple of fun within close driving distance of Cincinnati.

We were on the River first thing this morning, and spent most of the day out there. The check in process is super simple and the staff is quick to do their part to get you out on the water. A large selection of kayaks, life jackets and lots of staff to help make for a fun day with friends and family!

The first time I went was for my dad's 50th birthday with about an 11 person party. We arrive that day and the bus for our trip runs over an hour late to take us to the start point when they did there was a soccer tournament going on at the drop off point so we all had to drag our kayaks a good distance across multiple soccer field areas to start our trip. When we talked to the staff about our experience they told us the owner would reach out to us then he didn't and we called him asking him to give us a call then he still didn't. Hoping that was just a bad day for them I decided to try this place one more time with a smaller group of me, my boyfriend and my dog. During our trip our canoe flipped about .25 miles from end of the trip when my boyfriend moved to grab something out of the bag we brought. Once we flipped we tried flipping the canoe back over but their canoes don't have plugs to let the water held in the boat back out so the boat started to sink which we were holding onto to help us float in heavy current water that was about 15 ft deep. We were saved by people who don't work for the company who were fishing off to the side after about 8 minutes of us floating down the river. They thankfully had kayaks to come save us and our dog. After we were recused they attempted calling tippecanoe multiple times with no answer so they kayaked to the end to finally get a worker to help rescue us. As the staff got us to the landing area they were immediately only concerned about their money. Absolutely not their traumatized customers who lost all their personal belongings and almost so much more than that. I highly recommend if you care for your safety to not do business here as they have zero staff along the river to ensure you don't drown in the very possible situation like Green Acres and many other local Kayaking places do. Attached are photos of their email response to my trip (also asked them to call me and only got an email saying this) and my response back to that email. I have never left a review I had to make an account to even do this but after my experience with this company I would hate for anyone to experience a similar situation or worse one because of the neglect and unawareness of this company.

We visited Morgan's yesterday for the second time this summer. It's a great meeting spot for friends that live in Cincinnati and Indianapolis. Our first visit was on a Thursday and the second was on a Sunday. There was a big difference in the amount of people when going during the week versus the weekend. I would highly suggest a weekday visit if you would prefer less people. After a brief safety talk, you grab a life vest, paddle, and boat and you are off! We did kayaking on both of our visits, but saw a lot of people out on canoes and rafts. It is about a 7 mile trip and both times it took us about 3 hours doing a relaxing trip down the river with minimal paddling and a lot of floating. We packed a picnic lunch and pulled our kayaks out on a shady spot and ate lunch. This is not a technically different kayaking route. There are a few sections that are rocky, have some tiny rapids, or tree roots that you need to navigate, but all in all, it is a beginner level trip perfect for the novice and fun for all. The equipment is good, staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The price is also good for a budget activity ~$30 per person! Let's talk about COVID-19 precautions: Morgan's takes this seriously! They are by reservation only and have designated checkin times. For our weekend checkin when it was busy, a man greeted us when walked up and directed us to an empty table to fill out our group's waiver. Once done, we took to a table with one staff member to checkin. All of this was outside. During the week, this was done in the building, but we were the only group. There are social distance markers on the ground, limit to 3 people per the changing room/restroom, social distance on the bus to bring you back, and all staff wore masks. Thank you for keeping us safe!
