Ohio River Views from the SS Tiki Tours

I booked a Tiki Tour as a team-building activity and we are already talking about making this an annual tradition. Such a great experience! We took the four-hour cruise so we could see the sunset. We ordered food that had already been made, so we didn't need to use the grill, but it was nice to have that option. I could see that being a great thing to do during a Reds game or concert. Our captain, Kenton, was awesome. Super laid back and very fun. He even stopped at the dock in Newport so that we could use the restroom at one of the restaurants (I recommend doing this vs. the on board camper toilet, which smelled a little towards the end of our tour.) My only wish: We had to carry our cooler to the dock ourselves. (As 3 small ladies, it was a very steep ramp If they could supply a cooler/ ice that would've been super helpful (Not sure if it's feasible but just a suggestion.) Also, pro tip: Be dropped off or have a car come and get you. :) Either way, we would absolutely book another outing. Great times were had by all!

This business is such a great addition to the area! If you are looking for a laidback, no hassle day out on the water this is absolutely the way to go! Our captain was Kenton, a delightful guy who ensured we have nothing to worry about beyond the umbrellas in our drinks. Booking was easy and haste free with the owner over the phone. If you go the last minute rate there are even same day deals you may be able to take advantage of. I highly a recommend a trip, it certainly won't be our last!

Perfect view to match our puzzle

Perfect night for our 15 year anniversary all thanks to Kevin of the SS tiki tiki boat tour. We had a very magical night with the most amazing view and awesome captain. Kevin was a wonderful tour guide between his enjoyable knowledge of the area to his fantastic help with getting beautiful photos. (Unfortunately I am only able to share photos on this app that I took with my phone.)

Best experience ever- would give 100 stars if possible! The boat was amazing and had everything we could want and then some- bathroom, bar, speakers, microphone to name a few. The captains were a blast and completely made the experience- hyped up the games we were playing, got pictures/videos of our group, helped set up coolers and pick up trash, and even helped us carry things from the car to the boat. I could not say enough amazing things about this experience, but it is a MUST! Thank you Greg and Tim!!

I am so happy to have done my Engagement party with SS Tiki Tours!! The Captain did such a great job keeping us smiling and his wonderful daughter was very helpful! She made things a lot easier to handle! I will definitely be back! Thank you for such an amazing time and experience for my Engagement party!

This was a last minute decision. Saw an ad pop up on social media about a July 3rd cruise and…read morefireworks. Had never heard of Queen City Riverboats until then. Discovered they're located in Dayton Ky, just a few miles east of Newport. They have a private parking lot- so parking was easy even though the surrounding area was busy. We boarded quickly and the crew members were all very personable. Our tickets included a 3 hour cruise, dinner and open bar. The boat started out by cruising east on the Ohio river and then turned back towards the west (and the fireworks). Our dinner, was as advertised, a mix of bbq, hamburgers, hot dogs and summer salads. There were also cookies and some pastries for dessert. The bar, which was included in the price, was a pleasant surprise. They offered cans and bottles of beer and some fairly good spirits for cocktails. The cruise was a pleasant way to relax and see the sites along the Cincinnati- N. Kentucky Ohio River shore line. We arrived at our spot to watch the fireworks (which were set off from a barge in the river) approximately 30 minutes before start time. It was a very fun way to watch the "fire in the sky". All in all, the food wasn't fancy, the boat decor was a little bit "tired" - however the crew, the sites along the river, the comfy outdoor seating area and the cruise made for a really enjoyable evening. Very glad we went!

First, he was not inviting, second, he had a frown on his face, third, he was aggressive towards us. Many of us were over 50, cool, chill and laid back but I understand the sentiment, you never know what type of crowd you're going to get, I guess. The "media" portrays black people as violent, vicious and unassuming. In addition, I know that initial impression of black people is that we are all rowdy but some of us are actually reserved and chill. There are so many facets to us.. give us a chance!!..overall we had a wonderful time!

We went on the Captain's Lunch Cruise on a sunny but chilly day in late April. It was really…read moreenjoyable and worth the price for sure. We sailed on the River Queen which is the smaller boat. The food buffet was very good and there was something for every taste. Very fresh salad with two dressing options, rolls, meltingly tender beef in a rich brown gravy, baked chicken, mashed potatoes, farfalle pasta in red sauce, scrumptious grilled vegetables. And decadent creamy cheesecake for dessert. Free coffee and tea, and reasonably priced bar drinks for purchase. Our server, Anna (Onna?) was most attentive and usually within sight if you wanted something. The whole crew were very professional, very polite and respectful and eager to please. Our entertainer was engaging with his ongoing narration of the sights and historical facts along the river interspersed with banjo music. The two hours went by quickly. I put on my hoodie and spent some time out on deck, where you can smoke 'em if you got 'em. I decided it was time for a cocktail so I ordered an Anchors Away which was delicious, nautically blue, and had a definite kick. I was really looking forward to getting the pictured souvenir glass, but the first of two wrinkles took place as I was advised they were out of them due to some recent large parties on the bigger boat. Boo. If you're going to advertise souvenir glasses, order more than enough to keep them in stock. Anna arranged to give me the drink in the larger souvenir vessel, which is pretty, but heavy ceramic and I don't see myself using it at home other than for a decoration. The second wrinkle was our bar tab printed out as though I ordered multiple drinks. My husband didn't look at it and just handed over the debit card...then I saw it and went up to tell them not to run it but it was too late. Somehow they had already realized it was wrong but it took such a long time for them to figure out how to void the transaction, which bothered me. The cruise director had to get involved to fix it. Her name was Tasha and she was very nice and so apologetic about the situation, she comped our drinks for the trouble and boxed up some cheesecake for us to take home. She seemed to agree with me that if the owners had not decided to "go cashless" last year this would never have happened. I asked her to pass on my comment that it is not good to refuse to accept payment in legal tender American money and I feel it was a bad move. For this reason I will never give five stars even if the cruise is flawless. Nonetheless I hope to have the chance to take a cruise on the River Queen later this year.

My spouse and I attended the holiday cruise during extremely poor weather. While the weather itself…read moreisn't controllable, the lack of preparation was concerning. The storm had been widely forecast, yet the parking lot and walkways were slick and hazardous. We were nearly struck twice by other vehicles while trying to park, and the walk onto the boat was treacherous. I had emailed in advance asking about inclement weather plans and received only a response confirming the scheduled departure time, which was not reassuring given the known severity of the storm. Once onboard, the experience continued to disappoint. The buffet setup was confusing, with food split between two lines without access to all food selections, and the quality was noticeably below what I've experienced in the past. The turkey tasted more like a reheated frozen entrée than a freshly prepared dish. Beverage service was also lacking--iced tea was served in very small glasses, requiring repeated requests for refills. The entertainment was excessively loud, making conversation impossible. I've been a loyal BB Riverboats customer for over 30 years and have always recommended them, but this cruise fell far short of expectations and left me genuinely disappointed.
