I did not know what to expect when we decided to go canoeing but it was more fun than I anticipated! My group opted for the 7 mile trip opposed to the longer trip available. We found this was the perfect distance since it took about 4 hours. Granted, we weren't moving very fast and floated for quite some time. All of the staff were very pleasant - from calling to make the reservation to helping us once we arrived. One small thing, we had a 11:00 am reservation for 6 but did not actually get to the river until closer to noon. There were several large groups there so we assumed this was the hold up. However, we didn't mind waiting. Be mindful - A bus takes the groups to the river and it is the individuals' responsibility to unload the canoe and get it into the river. The river had many sandbars so it made stopping for food and beverages very easy. We stopped for snacks a couple times and did not have any issues. All in all, this was $21 well spent for an afternoon of fun!

I have been going to Blue's Canoe for about a decade now. The entire staff is always nice. I have rented their canoes and kayaks. I have my own kayak now and just pay the transport fee. It is great for large groups too. It's a decent river to paddle. Just a short drive to Edinburgh to have fun on the river.

We have been here twice. First time we did the 7 mile trip, second time the 9 mile trip. Both were amazingly beautiful and fun. I would do the 9 mile again when we go back, because I know we will be back. They load you on a bus and pull your canoe or kayak to the drop in point. You unload and carry things down the the edge and launch out on your lazy adventure. We have 7 canoes in our group and each of us kept up a steady pace. We stopped along the islands and flat edges to pee, so be prepared for that. Bring coolers, plenty of room in the canoes. Pack food and drinks sunscreen, bug spray and wipes to clean up with. Carry out your own trash. We even picked up a few pieces of trash that wasn't ours. Every little bit helps right!? There is a campground next door, but it's tents/primitive, and we have a camper, so we haven't ever stayed there.

Blues is something pretty special to me. Absolutely have had many good memories here. Love all the sandbars you can stop at visit with others eat ect. People that go here are so nice too. I tipped one time in the canoe and 4 kayakers help us get our cooler and other belongings. Staff is super nice and cool too. All around good people and good times here.

We were part of a group of about 30 people that rented canoes and kayaks for the 7-mile trip. Our group organizer said that Blue's staff was great to work with. Once our group arrived at the livery, the whole process was well organized and efficient. The Driftwood River was a relaxing, natural environment with tree-lined banks, a historic iron bridge, and several sandbars perfect for a break or a picnic. We had a great time and will definitely be back.

July 2017 - great day on the river!

We visited Morgan's yesterday for the second time this summer. It's a great meeting spot for friends that live in Cincinnati and Indianapolis. Our first visit was on a Thursday and the second was on a Sunday. There was a big difference in the amount of people when going during the week versus the weekend. I would highly suggest a weekday visit if you would prefer less people. After a brief safety talk, you grab a life vest, paddle, and boat and you are off! We did kayaking on both of our visits, but saw a lot of people out on canoes and rafts. It is about a 7 mile trip and both times it took us about 3 hours doing a relaxing trip down the river with minimal paddling and a lot of floating. We packed a picnic lunch and pulled our kayaks out on a shady spot and ate lunch. This is not a technically different kayaking route. There are a few sections that are rocky, have some tiny rapids, or tree roots that you need to navigate, but all in all, it is a beginner level trip perfect for the novice and fun for all. The equipment is good, staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The price is also good for a budget activity ~$30 per person! Let's talk about COVID-19 precautions: Morgan's takes this seriously! They are by reservation only and have designated checkin times. For our weekend checkin when it was busy, a man greeted us when walked up and directed us to an empty table to fill out our group's waiver. Once done, we took to a table with one staff member to checkin. All of this was outside. During the week, this was done in the building, but we were the only group. There are social distance markers on the ground, limit to 3 people per the changing room/restroom, social distance on the bus to bring you back, and all staff wore masks. Thank you for keeping us safe!

They do not answer their phones and their policy says you must talk to the office for a cancellation. I called several days with no ability to speak with anyone. We did however book our tubing trip for the correct day. When we arrived we tried kindly explaining to the woman our situation. She was immediately combative and argumentative. She immediately went in defense mode. It was incredibly unprofessional and abrasive. We understand we made a mistake however we didn't deserve to be treated that way. Naturally we firmly and persistently argued back as we were approached in such a manner. Ultimately she did end up refunding us (allegedly - we did not receive it yet. But did get confirmation email we were refunded) but it was after a long awkward argument for really no reason. If the woman at the front office was polite from the get go we would have had a much better experience. The gentlemen who ran the tubing, said his name was Kim. He was very kind and professional. I would give this place another go because of his efforts in trying to make the situation more comfortable.

The first time I went was for my dad's 50th birthday with about an 11 person party. We arrive that day and the bus for our trip runs over an hour late to take us to the start point when they did there was a soccer tournament going on at the drop off point so we all had to drag our kayaks a good distance across multiple soccer field areas to start our trip. When we talked to the staff about our experience they told us the owner would reach out to us then he didn't and we called him asking him to give us a call then he still didn't. Hoping that was just a bad day for them I decided to try this place one more time with a smaller group of me, my boyfriend and my dog. During our trip our canoe flipped about .25 miles from end of the trip when my boyfriend moved to grab something out of the bag we brought. Once we flipped we tried flipping the canoe back over but their canoes don't have plugs to let the water held in the boat back out so the boat started to sink which we were holding onto to help us float in heavy current water that was about 15 ft deep. We were saved by people who don't work for the company who were fishing off to the side after about 8 minutes of us floating down the river. They thankfully had kayaks to come save us and our dog. After we were recused they attempted calling tippecanoe multiple times with no answer so they kayaked to the end to finally get a worker to help rescue us. As the staff got us to the landing area they were immediately only concerned about their money. Absolutely not their traumatized customers who lost all their personal belongings and almost so much more than that. I highly recommend if you care for your safety to not do business here as they have zero staff along the river to ensure you don't drown in the very possible situation like Green Acres and many other local Kayaking places do. Attached are photos of their email response to my trip (also asked them to call me and only got an email saying this) and my response back to that email. I have never left a review I had to make an account to even do this but after my experience with this company I would hate for anyone to experience a similar situation or worse one because of the neglect and unawareness of this company.

First it is required to sign a waiver then you check in. There are several options. You can choose between the 2,3,6 or 8.5 mile trek. You can rent tandem kayak, single kayak or canoe. We opted for the tandem kayak $86.00 for the both of us and we did the 6 mile round trip. You pick your life jacket, wait for your name to be called out and you take a bus. From there they will drop you off depending on what mile marker you chose. The staff makes sure to explain where to not go and when you have to be back. Make sure you are back by 7:00 pm. Once you get to the river you pick your paddle and kayak/canoe and off you go. You may hit some rough shallow spots but for the most part, it was smooth sailing. Make sure to pack a small cooler for your drinks. Stay hydrated. We also kayaked to Little Miami Brewing and had a couple of libations. That was fun! Overall the whole experience was great and I had a blast. Coming back the staff was super friendly, helpful and laid back. I would definitely come back. This place rocks.

The location was easy to find on Round Bottom Road, big grass/field parking lot and well - set up registration area. Getting signed in and life jacket was a breeze. The shuttle to the put-in outside of Miamiville for our "Fletcher" paddle was a quick ride, and our canoe, kayaks and paddles were waiting for us. A staff member was on hand at the river for those needing a push in, but otherwise it was easy to handle on our own. And we were off! There were little rapids on the way for some fun, a few "beaches" for taking a break. It was a Tuesday and we saw people paddling the whole way, but did not feel crowded at all. Saw lots fish, a few turtles and a turkey vulture. We did stop at Little Miami Brewing in Milford for a break which was fun. Return to the car was easy and again staff on hand to take your equipment. Great time and we'll definitely do it again!

I have only rented the single occupant vessels and I typically pay around $50 or so after taxes and such for 5 mile trips. I consider this pretty good value since they take care of all the logistics for you, then you and crew just show up. They have reduced rates if you have your own vessel, since they provide transport for that. I've been here on group outings organized by Frank's, but also We Walk Indy, Women Who Explore, and Pink Paddle Club have organized outings here. All the staff I've encountered over the years are super friendly. My most recent outing was their first public outing on Fall Creek. The conditions were quite nice and the guides on the trip were helpful in navigating the small rapids. You can be sure to find me here every now and again when the weather is right!
