This review is mainly for the camp ground only. My wife booked it because we just wanted a chill weekend close to home. We have a new 28' travel trailer so our style of camping is much different than the rugged tent living. She didn't know to see what the camp ground had amenity wise. Come to find out they only offer 30A hook up. No water or sewer, or WiFi. Not the biggest deal as I have a full 55 gallon fresh tank that lasted just fine. The grounds are clean and plenty of things for the kids to do. The shower house is also new and clean. The only draw back for us is not having the full RV hook up. read more

It's Sunday, the parking lot are full of cars, i guess this is the busiest park i ever visited so far, maybe it's because of the Coronavirus, walking in a park become the only thing you can do outside home! read more

I'm hoping the park is much better than the web site. tried Friday thru Monday morning to book a site. tried Monday morning to call got answering machine. First tried two different phones, moved on to a tablet then to a laptop. When we finally jumped through all the correct hoops there was a problem processing card tried different card same problem. Two times we reached the end for the site to tell us that site booked while we were jumping. We do a lot of camping from Michigan to Florida and never had such a problem with online reservations. Whoever designed their site should be demoted. read more

What a great park. Miami Whitewater Forest has so much to offer. At 4,345 acres, Miami Whitewater Forest is the largest of the Hamilton County Parks. A large newer playground. I was surprised the playground even has a handicap ramp that leads to a handicap boat. The wet playground is great. My kids had a blast. The cool water is perfect on a hot day! It is $3 per child or $7 for 3 kids under the age of 12, for the water park. Accompanying adults are free. Two kids get in free to the water park on the first day of the month for Hamilton County residence. ***Update. This has changed to select Community Appreciation Days. Their website is the best place to find updated info. The pirate theme at the water park was cute. Boat house to rent boats and kayaks. Frisbee golf, fishing, golf course, horse trails, bike trails, and walking trails. Enjoy walking by the lake or on one of the many trails. There is a snack bar and nature center. I feel like I am leaving something out. This park has so much to offer. On our visit we barely scratched the surface. The hole ride home the kids were planning their next visit. This is probably my favorite Hamilton County Park and absolutely my favorite Hamilton County Golf Course. It's always beautiful and well manicured. They always have good weekday tee times at a reasonable price. The drink cart is always cold during the summer and the pace of play is always enjoyable. read more

This one is probably my favorite park in all of Cincinnati. it's peaceful, well kept and has some of the most relaxing trails to walk. it's a must place to visit during the summer with family and friends. great for picnics or just a nice long walk on one of there many trails. about 3 times a year I like to walk the outer loop trail.. which takes about 2 and a half hours to walk the whole thing. it's a great way to relax and take in nature. read more

If you haven't been, go! The Miami Whitewater Forest just might be the most gorgeous of all of the tri-state park. It has all the amenities you could want...plus some. There is a paved trail that has a short and long loop, which is great for biking, running, rollerblading, or just walking. There are also several well-maintained hiking trails and a bridle trail. The lake area is beautiful, and there is plenty nearby to keep you busy. All right by the lake, there is fishing, boating, golf, a snack bar, the gift shop, a playground, and a splash park. The playground and splash park are newer, and my kids love to spend summer days running between the two. My favorite part of Miami Whitewater, however, is venturing out to the Shaker Trace Wetlands. It's designated as an important wildlife area, and especially on early mornings in spring, it's easy to see why. There are birds of all kinds (particularly songbirds, waterfowl, and birds of prey), as well as frogs and turtles and other wetland creatures. You can take the paved trail out for a real adventure or park in the small (somewhat muddy) lot off Baughman Road and follow the grass path to the paved trail. There's even a nice lookout shelter. Bring binoculars if you have them! The park also has an endless supply of picnic tables, benches, shelters, and grassy areas, which means it is the perfect place to have a picnic. If you forgot to pack something, there is a nice, friendly-staffed Marathon store just off the exit (south on Dry Fork Road). As well, the city of Harrison is close by with ample fast food, convenience stores, and even a Kroger. At least near Cincinnati, I think Miami Whitewater Forest is as good as it gets. It's a bit of a drive out I-74, but it is well worth it. Just remember-- it is still part of the Hamilton Country Park District, so you need a motor vehicle permit to enter. read more

I love to go running in this park. They have a paved trail that is relatively flat- good for beginner runners. Twice around it is roughly a 5k, so its great for people training for their first race. The trail is never overcrowded, even at peak times. People are polite and move out of the way for runners and bikers. The scenery along the trail is very beautiful. It winds its way along a creek. The trail also continues around the lake by the main building. The best part is that there are bathrooms nearby! If I had children, this would be a great place to take them. They have a huge playground, a water park in the summer, and lots of ducks to run after. A great warm-weather hangout for west siders! read more

Clearly this park has a lot to offer. We visited the wet play area, but I know I'll be back to explore the bike trails and view the wildlife with my curious 3 year old. Since I mainly visited the wet playground, that's what this review will focus on. Despite overcast skies and a light drizzle early in the morning, the wet playground opened for business. Talking to the lifeguards on duty, however, I discovered that on a day like that, usually they don't open but they had 3 birthday parties scheduled for today, so they opened. Incidentally, none of the birthday parties showed...but they were good sports about it. So on days that the weather is ify, you may want to call ahead to make sure they're opened. Anyway, we pretty much had the run of the place since it was an overcast/drizzly day. The space is cute, but I think smaller than the one in Winton Woods. There's also a large play structure just before you enter the wet play area that captured my son's attention, with many many swings (his favorite), also nice. Evidence that these people run a tight ship...one of my son's friends had a poopy diaper that may or may not have leaked (it was unsure). They shut off the water and called in a cleaning crew who sprayed down the area with chlorine/bleach, cleaned the general vicinity with a brush, and then hosed it all down. Basically standard operating procedure for a pool facility. The thing was, they were all so darn nice about it. The parents were slightly embarrassed, but the life guards and the cleaning crew were totally 'it's no big deal' about it. Now this may gross some people out...believe you me, I bet this happens more than we'd like to know...but the fact that they dealt with it swiftly and with care really made me feel better about using the facility. Also, unlike the bathrooms at the Winton Woods wet playground, these bathrooms did not smell like a sewer. read more

Such a great park for families! I grew up coming to Miami Whitewater as a kid; we would come here during Easter for brunch and other get togethers. Now I bring my family :) went camping here for the first time and had a great time. Campsites were clean, well shaded, and spacious. There is so much to do here: splashing in the wet playground, paddle boats, bike trails, picnic, and more. The indoor museum and gift shop in the visitor center is just another gem; they have programs going on you can enjoy. Highly recommend everyone coming here! A very well kept park. read more

This park is great and the best part is that's it's less than 2 miles from my house! The park is beautiful, the scenery is breathtaking and there is so much to do. Normally we park by the kids park. There is a great playground and in the summer a water park for the kids (water park does cost an additional $2 but it's so worth it). If you don't want to hang out at the water park walk down to the dock and rent paddle boats, pontoon or a fishing boat and hand out on the water. If water isn't your thing, take a walk! There is a 2 mile or 8 mile trail. Along the way you can enjoy the beautiful signs of nature. If walking or bike riding isn't your thing there is still lots more! From sand volleyball, frisbee golf, and an 18 hole golf course! This park has everything! read more

This is easily my favorite park in Cincinnati. They have an eight mile loop that has beautiful views of the hills of the city. Everyone at the park is super friendly and willing to help. We rented bikes and afterward got soft serve at the snack bar. The snack bar also has coors light and summer shandy on tap. They also have a nice little water park and water feature that you can paddle board on. read more

Awesome park! There's a large playground and a wet playground for the summer months. There are some nice biking trails (the ones we went on were not particularly shaded, by the way). We saw a lot of horse riders, as well. We did not partake in the lake activities when we went, but certainly plan to in the future. Lovely, well-kept park with activities for all ages. read more

Amazing 7.6 mile outer loop and ~2 mile shorter inner loop, paved, well maintained trail. Really cool for biking, walking or jogging. There is lots of bugs there, so take the repellent! ;) It is particularly nice in the summer months, as you pass the fields of corn, forest and meadows with blooming flowers. When that is gone, the views are not so cool and it might be a bit boring, but it is still a nice opportunity to move a little :) Special note for butterfly lovers: you will have a blast, there is ton of them! read more

Beautiful! My mom was in town visiting from San Diego and I've been waiting to check this place out, so we drove the 40+ mins from Independence, KY. And it was worth it. The kids playground was huge compared to most so even though it was a busy weekend day it didn't feel overwhelming and my son still had plenty of room to move freely. The Water Park part isn't open yet but from what I saw it looks like tons of fun for kids. So we will be back for that. We decided to rent a paddle boat and it was decently priced, so that was nice. The lake is pretty big so we were out there for a decent amount of time and enjoyed our selves. The staff was very helpful and attentive about getting us on and off the boat as well as life jackets on and off. I'm glad I finally made the trip out here and I can't wait to come back once the water park play area opens. read more

My husband and I went to Miami Whitewater to ride a pedal boat. Ten minutes out it starts making a racket. People on the shore were looking at us. Every round of the pedal made a terribly loud noise. We headed back to the dock hoping to exchange for another boat. It was fewer than 20 minutes when we returned. The man on duty said: "They all make noise, some more than others." Before he and the woman on duty walked away quickly inside, I said they should tell people to expect the noise. He said they could not be fixed. I also stated my husband and I wouldn't coming back. The two were dismissive. This was quite disrespectful. There's no interest in customer satisfaction. Save your money. Go somewhere else. read more

Had a poor experience at Miami Whitewater campground. The camp rangers seem to patrol every hour or so, but don't actually stop and do anything. We stayed in a tent and had very loud and intoxicated neighbors next to us that were playing music and literally screaming at each other up fighting until after midnight. Neighbors would stop when rangers drove by, but did nothing about it. Fighting kept up several campers all night. Tried to call the park's numbers found online, but was unable to get through. Park really needs to have a hotline accessible for visitors to call the rangers. Informed the staff about this issue and they seemed to be unconcerned. Also - there were many sites with 2+ cars making it super crowded. read more
