Greeted immediately when we entered. Went during lunch wasn't very crowded, food was good with attentive service. We started with calamari flash fried, it was cooked well. They serve with sauce which was cold. Overall, I would return again.

Very good! Staff was welcoming and food was great. We loved the indoor / outdoor options and parking. They are also very puppy friendly! I totally forgot to grab food photos but the pita and hummas was good! I liked my chicken, salad and potatoes dinner. Even had leftovers. So easy to get to for us, would absolutely recommend and can't wait to stop back in!

Had a fantastic experience at Greek Taverna. The zucchini chips were amazing and when I mistakably tried to order a gyro that's only on the lunch menu, the waitress was so helpful and offered to have the dinner grilled chicken wrapped into a gyro. The restaurant is beautiful and the service was outstanding as well. We will be back!

Went for a dinner for my best friend who just retired hosted by his wife It started off a little ruff but they made up for it in a good way She had reserved the back table for the 6 of us but when she got there they had given away the table and she was mad and let them know. Upon hearing this the chef sent over some free appetizers for the table along with the apps we ordered The staff was very nice and attentive always filling up our water glass I orders the fish of the day Bronzino and it was cooked perfectly Everyone seemed to like the food and they did not rush us out after So I willl be back

OK. I've had better Greek food for sure, but the old man was nice. I did love their homemade fries the cut was different and seasoned perfectly the only issue was serving them to me soggy. It was either water on my plate that wasn't dried or water spilled on my plate. So I couldn't eat them all. The gyro was not good but I finished it all.

A cute spot for authentic Greek dishes and one of the few Montclair restaurants with parking! We shared three appetizers - the Pikilia (pita bread with three dips), Kalamarakia Tiganita (fried calamari), and Grilled Haloumi. The Haloumi was delicious! I got the Small Plate Mousaka as my entree - but it is a large serving! This was my first time having Mousaka and it was less gamier than I thought it would be.

Chicken gyro, potato's and tzatziki. Yum!

Good place that I stumbled on a random Sunday I had alone. Chicken gyro. The tzatziki was very good along with the potatoes cooked to perfection. The house pita bread was yummy too! Good fresh brewed unsweetened ice tea too! Johnathon my server was very sweet. I'll be back!

Came with my lil bro and his wife as they were visiting the NE :D There is a free parking lot next to the building, so yay. It's so hard to find free parking in Monclair downtown area, hehehe We were here on Monday MLK day. Between lunch and dinner so we had the place to ourselves. The bread they served was delicious! I had 1 piece, and when I reached for another, it was all gone... We were given 8 pieces for 4 people, and it should have been 2 pieces each! LoL GREEK STYLE CHICKEN RISOTTO - I loved it, and I remembered to tell them not to al dente LOL MOUSSAKA - hubby loved it. I thought the potatoes were undercooked... CHICKEN SOUVLAKI with PATATES PSITES STO FOURNO - lil bro loved his meal Chicken Platter - his wife liked her meal as well. The chicken wasn't too dry. Cheese Cake Baklava - As soon as I saw this on the menu, I had to try it! I love each desert individually, so it must be good. 1st bite was good, creamy, soft, and not too sweet. 2nd bite, hum little salty... 3rd bite was ok, and then everyone started to say, is it a bit salty to you? And I was like , yes, wth?! The cream cheese was well mixed in that it had a wonderfully creamy texture. But I think they mixed up the salt for the sugar??? Because it was really salty. I know cream cheese is salty, but this was extra salt... great idea poorly executed.

We were blown away by Greek Taverna and highly recommend them for all catering events! Harry was a PHENOMENAL catering partner and will truly take care of you and your guests. My (now) husband and I were planning a welcome party for the night before our wedding, and we were looking for a catering partner to work with. I had been to Greek Taverna several times, and the food and service were always spectacular! We called, were connected with Harry, and knew we were immediately put in good hands. Harry and his team invited us in for an amazing tasting, helped us refine our menu to fit the dietary considerations of every single one of our guests, and they truly went **above and beyond** for the event. The food was delicious, the entire team was so kind, friendly, and helpful, and we can't wait for an excuse to work with them again!

I order takeout from here quite often and really enjoy how delicious and consistent the food is. My go to order is the chicken platter. The house made fries/chips are fantastic and the chicken is super tender and juicy. I especially appreciate that my order is always correct and ready on time. Definitely worth visiting!

They have their own parking lot on the side of the building. I cheated on my diet for my friends birthday so you wouldn't have to. If your vegan you can have the falafel, fries and hummus. I ordered a vegetable Mousaka but I'm pretty sure they put some cheese in there. I wasn't too impressed with the hummus. Everybody I was with really enjoyed the food. They got calamari, fish, and some melted cheese appetizer. When we split the bill it was really expensive, but I think we had a few bottles of wine. The place had decorative chickens all over the place. I tried to find info in the connections between Greece & chicken but couldn't find anything, so if you go you might want to ask them. The staff was all very friendly & professional.

    Stick chicken souvlaki.

I enjoyed it so much that I decided to return yesterday. This time, I went alone. I was excited to go back, until the moment I walked in and was immediately asked whether I had a reservation. I said no. I was one person, and there were plenty of empty tables. Despite that, I was placed in a freezing corner by the door. It was uncomfortable and honestly unwelcoming. Nowhere on your website does it say "reservations only," yet that's exactly how I was treated. I felt so uncomfortable that I chose to leave without even placing an order. I walked in ready to spend money and enjoy a meal, and instead I walked out feeling dismissed. You lost a paying customer. What makes this worse is that I later told the same friend I originally went with, and she shared that when she calls ahead for a party of two, they simply tell her to come in because there are plenty of seats and that reservations aren't even required. So clearly, reservations are not the issue. That makes the way I was treated feel intentional and different. As a Palestinian who spends a lot of time in Paterson, I'm very familiar with Middle Eastern restaurants and pricing. Lentil soup is a staple on our menus. I know what a reasonable price looks like. For example, Kral Pide in Paterson charges $7. Charging $15 for lentil soup is excessive. It's not just high, it's outrageous. I'm extremely disappointed. I came back because I genuinely liked this place. Instead, I left feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. I will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone, nor will I be bringing friends or family to this establishment again.

But although I found the restaurant to be cozy and my server to be friendly, the food though freshly prepared was just average at best. Let me explain. So, after perusing the menu, I saw a few Mediterranean staples, such as, baba-ghanoush, lentil soup, and a beef Shawarma entrée. So I decided to order all three of those items. Now, let me tell you not only was I excited to taste the food here, but I truly wanted to experience what a majority of people on yelp said about this place and its food. But I soon discovered that you truly cannot trust other peoples opinions when it comes to food. You just literally have to try it yourself to see if it even resembles that cuisines standard benchmarks. Well anyway, let me get to what I thought about the food. The lentil soup it's pretty tasty, but it would serve lukewarm. The baba-ghanoush was also tasty, but the pita bread was stale and void of any flavor. And as for the so-called Beef Shawarma entrée, it was literally chopped up cubes of beef! Nothing near to what a standard Shawarma entrée should resemble, or let alone taste like! To be quite honest, I was so disenchanted with the Shawarma entrée that I asked my server to take it away and just give me the bill. I was ready to go! But my server genuinely saw my disappointment with this so-called Beef Shawarma that she pleaded with me to try another entrée. So I asked her to recommend another entrée to me. And she recommended the Skewered Chicken entrée. So, I caved in and went ahead and ordered this Skewered Chicken entrée. But I should've just went with my gut feeling and just should have paid the bill and left. I say this because it took forever for them to prepare this Skewered Chicken entrée and I mean forever! And this is on a Tuesday night with only two other people inside the restaurant, so literally this place was empty! (Not sure if the Cook made me wait for this dish out of spite for me sending back the first entree but that is my suspicion). Anyway, I got my server's attention and she told me if I could wait a few more minutes because they were plating my dish and that it will be out shortly. And that literally took another 10 minutes. To say that I was eager to get out of this place would be an understatement. I was standing up literally putting on my jacket when the dish finally reached my table. My server asked me kindly to return to my seat and to try her recommended entrée. So I gave her the benefit of the doubt and I did so. The Skewered Chicken entrée was a little better than the so-called Beef Shawarma entrée, but really nothing to write home about. What a letdown! I really wanted to give this restaurant one star, but my server really showed genuine concern about my dining experience. And I truly appreciated that. And so as for my take on Le Souk of Montclair NJ. I would caution spending your hard earned money at this restaurant. The food is mediocre at best and there are a lot of better options in the Montclair area for Mediterranean food.

You can feel the love and intention behind every dish. It's BYOB, and they also have a small market inside with Middle Eastern spices and goods to take home. Can't wait to go back!
