Ordered for 5 the other night. The order consisted of half chicken dinners and salads with chicken. The chicken on each of the meals was dry.....VERY DRY. There's nothing worse than old, dry chicken that's been sitting around the restaurant for several hours. We ended up giving it to the dog. This is the second time in a row that we disliked the food from the Grecian Cafe. We gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time we got lousy food, but after the second time getting dry, tasteless food, we've decided that we'll find someplace else to eat. My wife & I just discovered this Greek cafe. We ordered the hummus pita bread appetizer, grilled salmon, spanakopita, beef souvlaki on pita bread sandwich & lastly the baklava for dessert. Everything was delicious, took us back to our trip to Santorini! The serving sizes were huge and the friendly service was so truly appreciated. We were just going to take out & eat at home, but then decided to eat outside using the stone patio tables. Unexpectedly they brought out water to us which was such a kind gesture. I've been coming here since I first moved to California, over 20 years ago. I left California 3 years ago but I still crave this restaurant's food and haven't found a Greek restaurant as good as they are. I recently visited my home town for a few days and I couldn't leave without stopping by here again. I ordered the gyro plate with rice and it comes with a Greek salad. The food was just as good as it was before I left!! I sent a picture of the food to my mom, who also loves this restaurant, and said she missed the food so much. I'm telling you, I've lived all over the United States and I have yet to find a restaurant that has better food than here. read more

This Grecian Cafe puts many restaurants to shame. They cook the food fresh with quality ingredients. My favorite items are the half Greek Chicken and it comes with a small Greek Salad. However their Greek Chicken Salad is a generous portion of salad and lots of sautéed chicken. Down right the best salad I have tasted. The employees are professional and prompt. I've been going here for years. Best things I've ordered here are the lamb shanks and gyros. Before, I really had bad experience with them because I called ahead maybe 2-3 times, and I still had to wait for my food. One time, years ago, I waited for an hour. I saw people who ordered later get their food earlier than me. When I demanded for my food or refund, the ladies there started arguing in front of me. Anyway, they got better now. Another place Yelp inspired me to go back to so I could write a review--my gain! It had been a hot day and I was in a salad mood. I hardly ever order salads so it had better be good and preferably Seafood or Greek. We both got the Greek salad with grilled chicken(same as the souvlaki the lady said) with fried Zucchini as a side and I decided to order one kouripiethes cookie and one Baklava to try. Both ahead of us and behind us in line were firemen from the area which I figured bode well. We had been here several times before and knew it was good already but I now look at places with a fresh perspective through my Yelp eyes. The Fried Zucchini were small and not a large portion for $3.50 but piping hot and juicy with a nice crunchy breading and ranch on the side. The salads were perfect, lots of crisp lettuce in a wonderful Greek dressing, feta sprinkled throughout instead of just a tiny chunk on the side, a couple of olives to garnish, tomato, cucumber, purple onion, and a LOT of delicious warm grilled chicken on top It came with warm grilled pita bread and tsatsiki sauce. I ate about 2/3 of mine and quit but the rest didn't make it till the next day. The cookie was very good (but I like mine better--recipe from the Greek neighbors of my childhood). The Baklava was one of the best I'd had from a restaurant or store--but not quite as good as what you buy at the Greek festival in June. That's my standard. Most Greek pastries from cafes deli's and groceries are substandard and don't taste fresh so this was better than most. I would order it again certainly. The ladies who run it are old school Greek cooks and do it right! Very cheerful and attentive also. Bravo! I forgot to check when they open but she said they close at 9pm. read more

I had a pretty good grilled chicken salad with a side of sliced pita bread for $8.99. This place has been around for a while now, and I use to eat here in the past before I was a Yelper. They've got the best falafel I have ever had, fresh delicious salads, and you'll thank yourself for grabbing a few baklava.
