I had such an amazing experience at Gyro House! I ordered the chicken shawarma plate and honestly it was the best thing ever. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, super tender, and full of flavor. Everything here is great! It appears to be a family run business, I believe a husband and wife and their son and they are so genuinely friendly and passionate about their food and everything is absolutely delicious! I happen to be working in East County most weekends and I look forward to my lunch breaks because I usually eat lunch here and my favorite is the chicken Shawarma sandwich and I wish I had the opportunity to order the whole chicken to go because it looks amazing! I have had other things on the menu as well and have enjoyed everything, everything is fresh and delicious, definitely the best food you will find in Parkway Plaza and I feel good spending my money at a mom and Pop operation and not giving it to some chain! Super good food super loaded The picture doesn't show justice because it's half eaten. But trust this food was really really good. That's my girlfriends plates but mine was eaten in like 3 minutes. they are super kind and very attentive. all the veggies are fresh and very fast service. Would extremely recommend this place. would definitely be back. 10 out of 10 pita bread, literally very soft not chewy at all, I be fighting with the other Pita bread sometimes but the one here is very soft. The food here is outstanding and will rival any Greek/Mediterranean restaurant you will find. Seriously!! Many of their items are made from scratch and everything is SUPER fresh. I saw Gyros House here on Yelp when I was in the area looking for some lunch and it looked good, so I had to try it. To my surprise, when I arrived, I found out that it was actually in a food court inside the Parkway Plaza. Despite the unexpected location, my experience here was fantastic! When I walked up to the counter, a very friendly lady came and took my order. I decided on the gyro burger combo. After paying, I waited as the chef asked me if I wanted everything on it, which made the experience feel very personal. I said yes, and he proceeded to make my food right in front of me. Everything was freshly made, from the fries to cooking the meat. Both of the staff working here went above and beyond in making my food. The gyro burger was packed with tasty meat, juicy tomatoes, and their delicious tzatziki sauce, which added a perfect tangy flavor. Everything was steaming hot, including the fries. Speaking of fries, there was a large portion of them, and they were salty and delicious. When I finished, the nice lady asked if I wanted a refill. I passed because I was so full, but it was really the thought that counts. Overall, Gyros House provided an excellent dining experience with great food and exceptional service. Went to Gyro House with my Hubs yesterday and we both got the gyro plate. There was soooo much food! It was actually hot. Not like warm like a lot of these restaurants are serving now. The pita was so soft. The tzatziki was really good. The man and woman who were working provided excellent service. They asked how we wanted our salads and the dressing was delicious. We have been eating here for many years. This place is located in the food mall at Parkway plaza mall. The reason we love it is because he serves beef shwarma now. You can get a plate combo w fries and a drink or sandwich combo w fries also. The pita is never stale. It's very filling. Too saucy for leftovers. He also sells bakliva for dessert. Stumbled upon this place recently. Incredible service. The older gentleman is very sincere and always goes above and beyond. Food is so delicious and full of flavor. The yellow rice is unreal. I'm no expert about what spices they use, but I've eaten both the falafel plate and chicken gyro plate and both were fantastic. Our go to place to eat when we come to the mall. The dude that runs the place is super nice and let's us customize our food. It's also a treat to watch him work the grill. The man is an artisit. I love getting crispy gyro fries! My husband gets the gyro combo. The portions are always plentiful. I have been going to Gyros House for years, and have never had a bad experience. It's my go-to for gyros, and (in my opinion) the best option in the Parkway Plaza food court. The food is reasonably priced and amazing quality. The gyro meat is perfectly seasoned, hot, and tender. The vegetables are fresh and crisp. The pita is soft, warm, and flavorful. The sauces are perfect. The portions are big and very much worth the cost. The french fries are crispy and light, always hot and perfectly salted. The customer service is incredible. The man who always makes my gyros always has a smile on his face and puts a smile on mine. Same with the woman who sometimes works the register. They are kind and helpful. Very lovely people, very good food, great prices. Much better than the chain gyro places around. read more

We were in the area for car work, and was searching for lunch, and Greek food came up as an option. Searched Greek food on yelp, and this place showed up! What caught my eye was one of the top reviews about how mall food usually isn't good but this place is worth it. I started reading the reviews and was impressed with the prices, food options, and smile of the worker there. We decided to check it out and boy was it delicious. Review of their traveling Street Fair Cooking Tent. Carlsbad Street Fair - May 5th 2019. This large street fair has several places to eat but there's one outside "food court" located in a parking lot that I always visit.. We were craving gyros and there were two vendors here. One was Gyros House, the other was called Greek Snack. The latter also works the Palm Dessert swap meet and I gave them a big thumbs down in a review.. So we went with Gyros House. They were so friendly, and the food was very good. Loved their gyros AND their chicken shwarma salad. If they're back next year I'll definitely hit these guys up again.. Much to my surprise, Gyros House's main eatery is located in Parkway Plaza's food court! I even checked with the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce and sure enough their address is in that shopping mall. The moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted and asked if I wanted a table for one. I said no, I was hoping to order takeout, and she kindly invited me to sit at the bar while I looked over the menu. Right away, the atmosphere felt welcoming, beautiful, and relaxed. I ordered my food, sipped my water, and honestly didn't think I had ordered that much. Then she came out with multiple filled brown bags of food! First of all, the prices were amazing. Second... the food was TOP NOTCH and completely different from what I had the night before. Everything was packed with flavor without being overloaded with salt. Fresh, vibrant, rich, and incredibly satisfying. The waitress/hostess was knowledgeable, friendly, and gave great recommendations on what to try. You can tell the staff truly cares about the experience. I will absolutely be back the next time I visit San Diego again. And not that I recommend eating while driving ... but the next day on my drive back to Ventura County, I spread out my leftovers and happily snacked on hummus, baba ghanoush, and dolma all the way home. The tzatziki was bright and refreshing, the hummus topped with beef shawarma was rich and flavorful, and the ney classic plate was generous enough to easily feed two, maybe even three, without sacrificing quality anywhere on the plate. It was the perfect way to try a lot of their items at once and that one disappointed! What really says it all is that I am already looking forward to the leftovers, which is rare for me. This is the kind of place that stays with you, not just because it is good, but because you can feel the heart behind it.
