Nope nope nope nope nope. I had no choice as the buyer. Greater LA Escrow forgot to sign and submit forms so that the seller can get away with shady activities. By law escrow companies are supposed to represent BOTH seller AND buyer. So I guess if you want to do some illegal stuff and get away with it, this is the company to go to! One of the more stressful aspects of being a buyers agent is having no control over the escrow company you work with. My seller had selected this escrow, I had a horrible experience with these guys. They charged way too much for everything and had to follow up with them for all. They even didn't send closing docs and house docs after closing escrow. However they charged me upfront for sending those docs in mail. Finally got my docs after my real estate agent talking with them. So find a better escrow!!! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Without question the worst escrow company I've ever dealt with and one of the least professional, most disorganized and sloppy companies of any kind I've worked with. They "handled" escrow for my new home and their errors nearly caused the transaction to fall through MULTIPLE TIMES. They literally weren't following parts of the deal and key issues, use outdated modes of technology, are not responsive, do not communicate clearly or accurately and missed several key steps. And best of all, the documents they sent me included somebody else's personal financial information which of course left me wondering: who has received MY information? We are 45 days AFTER closing and I'm still untangling mistakes they made on simple basic stuff. If your agent or the other side's agent wants to use Greater LA Escrow - fight like hell to get them to use a different one. And if you end up stuck there and are assigned Martha -- demand that someone else manage your escrow. Your purchase/sale is legitimately at risk with this company. read more
