My daughter and I brought my 9 and 10 year old grandsons here. We were a bit nervous of the mixed reviews. The price for a family suit on a Wednesday with 4 passes to the water park is very reasonable. Upon arrival check in was simple and went pretty quickly. You are allowed to start your fun before the room is ready, which is good because the waterpark closes at 8 and opens at 10 am. You can also continue to play after check out. We found this very nice because you wouldn't get much time to play if not. Our room was ready early but our bands didn't open our room so they gave us new ones. The girls working were friendly and helped us sort it out quickly. We were disappointed to find hair in both of our beds. We called and requested fresh bedding because we wanted to get playing. They never came but they did give us a new room, also with hair on the sheets. Our cleaning person came in and we watched her replace the pillowcases with clean right off the cart and guess what? Still hair! This is a laundry issue but we were relieved to know it wasn't because our beds were dirty. This was our only negative issue. Our room was clean and spacious. The pull out sofa wasn't the most comfy but we were so wore out we slept well. The Waterpark wasn't very crowded and it was very fun for our boys! My grandson said he felt like a VIP and they will both remember this fun time. The workers keep a very good eye on things. We felt safe. There's a Dunkin Donuts in the lobby and you can order on an app which I recommend because I ordered at the kiosk and waited 30 mins for 2 coffees. ($9) I would recommend ordering ahead and pick it up when you get a text to save waiting too long. We brought in snacks and drinks to our room. We had a fridge but no microwave. My feelings are really mixed here. The good: The staff were very friendly. The kiosk check in process was a breeze, and I LOVE that water park wristbands double as room keys because it's one less thing to worry about losing. The onsite Dunkin offered good food at reasonable prices. The drinks were really good and felt like they justified their price because they were huge. The hotel rooms were very nice. The arcade was nice, and provided a good variety of games. The bad: Paying for parking is a huge turn-off. It's $20 per day just to park in an ordinary parking lot, which seems like an excessive charge that the resort knows it can get away with because people have to park. Strategies like that feel like they're trying to squeeze every nickel and dime out of patrons. The water park, itself, isn't great. There's two nice-sized tube slides and some very short body slides. The lazy river is also very short and filled with empty tubes in a way that feels claustrophobic. The hot tubs are nice. But it just doesn't feel like there's anything particularly exciting to do. Once you've been down the slides a few times and checked out the hot tubs, that's mostly it unless you're a little kid (there's a few activities that are geared for young kids). I wanna say first off that this wasn't my first time staying at the Great Wolf Lodge but this experience was definitely one I don't want ever experience again. From the min we checked in we noticed Mold on the Pull out mattress. then we got moved to a different room identical to ours just down the Hall and also checked the pull out mattress and BOOM MORE MOLD... Then I called the front desk where they told me that they would send someone to possibly clean or replace the mattress and that they didn't have anymore rooms available.. I then went online and checked the Great wolf website and Lo and Behold I seen there were multiple rooms available and they ended moving me to one of those rooms. Oh you thought I was done NOPE it's now 1am my kids are asleep and we are about to sleep as well Sike the Fire alarms were triggered and they did a mass evacuation and made everyone stand outside only find out it was a false alarm. My boyfriend and I took two quick trips to the great wolf lodge this year. While we don't have any kids yet, as adults we still had a lot of fun! Both trips we got to the Lodge around 11am and checked in at the desk. We ventured to the water park and spent time on the slides, lazy river and hot tub. Our room was ready within the hour. We split a lot of our time between the water park and Magiquest. It became a nice friendly competition for us even as adults. We certainly got our workout running up and down the stairs. Cons Very crowded, I feel the water park can not accommodate for everyone if it is fully booked especially if the weather is bad and the outdoor pool is not open, no security (that I saw) several times I saw unattended teens running through the hallways and almost running into several families, bowling area could be bigger to accomedate more families. We just just got back from a 2 night stay at Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky, OH and I can confidently say--it was an absolute blast! From the moment we stepped in, the energy was electric and the kids practically bounced out of their shoes in excitement. There's truly no shortage of fun here. Between the towering waterslides, splash zones, a lazy river and kids were entertained from morning to night. The lifeguards were attentive, and the layout made it easy to keep track of everyone without feeling overwhelmed. The water is warm and it's always 84 degrees. Second time we were here. Came in 2024-2025 new years and had a great stay.. I have a special needs child and when we first arrived he was " lost" in the water park and staff was on it very fast! Using their radios and alerting all staff . Room was clean also. ( I bring a black light flash light when I travel to check rooms for any biological material before I unpack anything) .... Now it's November 2025.. we stayed overnight only.. my autistic son absolutely Loves the characters.. Violet especially! When we left last time he cried 2 days straight missing the " wolf pack " characters in costume. So this visit I asked the staff if at all possible Violet could make an appearance while we were there.. and Sammy the squirrel since we didn't get the chance to meet her our first stay . The staff was AWESOME! Sunday morning made my sons WORLD when he met Sammy squirrel for the first time! And he saw violet again too! He brought her a gift from Pittsburgh as well! Thank you SO much for making my sons year! My only gripe was on Saturday evening during story time my son wanted so bad to be picked to physically participate in story time and the girls only chose smaller children to participate even though my son who is 13 special needs was standing and waving his hands begging to be called.. yes we received a lot of weird stares from parents wondering why this big child was so excited about great wolf.. but I feel I shouldn't have to advertise to the WORLD that my son is 13... on the spectrum and loves great wolf!!! Ok I am going to leave another review because my first one was to harsh now I was pretty excited to hear me and my family were going to great wolf lodge because I used to come all the time for my birthday when I was little and I thought it would be nostalgic and I did have some fun on the water slides and in the arcade but I heard they renovated it before we came and I was pretty excited to see the renovations but I feel like they removed a lot of stuff like the totem poles and a lot of other decorations that made it feel more alive and the room had a strange smell I think it was because they were having sewage problems because I saw a sewage truck I also think it is a little ridiculous that there is a 20$ parking fee but overall I still had fun read more

The rooms are outdated and you can't even get any front desk service to get more towels easily (called a number and never got them). The bathrooms are extremely small. No exercise rooms available either. The ceilings are extremely thin. Every morning at 6am and evening until after 12am, we could hear the people above us walking back and forth. Great place for kids under 10 years old, mostly a bust if you have older kids. Water area closes at 8pm, though activities go on longer in the lobby. The food is pricey, even by resort standards, but there is a Dunkin Donuts onsite (and there's a AR code in each room so you can order online to pick up). Mixed drinks are good. The rooms are a bit dated, but clean and mostly well kept. The water in our room was very slow to drain in both the sink and shower. Despite calling about it, it was never addressed in our 4 night stay. The staff were friendly. The little store on site was well stocked with adult drinks and snacks. We wouldn't stay here again, mostly because our kids have outgrown it and there are equally nice resorts for the price. read more

Stopped here for a two-night stay to celebrate New Year's on our way home from visiting family. The good: room was comfortable and reasonably spacious for our group of six; my kids (both under 6) enjoyed the water park immensely; we liked that unlimited bowling was included in our pass. The bad: water park is only open starting at 10... for families of little kids (as well as anyone checking out at 11) this is really late! It feels like you are losing a whole morning of swim time due to such a late start; MagicQuest is a total rip-off as after they nickel-and-dime you on wands and accessories, you find out that a bunch of the stations aren't working properly (my one kiddo was very disgruntled when they couldn't finish a quest due to a frozen pixie); food is bad and also not open at convenient times. read more

Let's start with the pros of the following establishment. I have to say that the staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. I would like to acknowledge the following staff members for their kindness, as well as my observations of their ability to make guest feel welcomed.(Jayme,Brayden,Katana,Marihzan,& Hailey) these staff members went above and beyond to ensure that our stay ran smoothly. Now, unfortunately, I have to note the cons the Great Wolf Lodge resort requires an upgrade if I'm being completely honest, as I was reviewing the room, I noticed a lot of areas of concern, for example in newer resorts, there are areas to charge your phones, iPads or possibly watch however, next to our bed, there was no space to charge our devices. I would also like to note that within our room, I saw spots of mold within the shower. There was also various cosmetic damage within the room for example, in the photos included, you'll see stains in the cabinets due to maybe a previous guest spilling drinks, as well as gouges in the TV stand. I also noticed that someone left a pushpin in the wall. During our stay, I did want to highlight that there are vegan options within the resort myself as a vegan. I am always concerned that I won't be able to find vegan options. However, within the restaurant, you will find a hummus and veggie bowl. The sorbet was noted to be vegan. However, I highly suggest you ask the staff about the ingredients list. I would also like to note that the walls are extremely thin during our stay around 2:48 AM the children above us were running back-and-forth into the morning hours and we heard everything! The hotel notes strict quiet hours from 11 PM to 7 AM however this is hard to monitor when the Noise is coming from individual rooms. I did enjoy how the arcade was open 24 hours. Our family noted that the best part was the waterpark as well as the duckpin bowling area. Of course the arcade was absolutely amazing. However, the variety of prizes I have to say was quite lackluster for what we paid for this attraction. The VR experience was I would have to say a five out of 10 it could've been better as it was advertised at the VR experience will be King Kong however it ended up being raging rabbits. Within the lobby, I'd like to note that Hilton has partnered with the Great Wolf Lodge resort and there is a photo booth and wolf ears available. To give you a brief of what Hilton is doing they are advertising for a timeshare property you pay a fee of $190-$250 depending on what's advertised to you to get a stay at one of their resorts and you will have to give four hours of your time to listen to a timeshare presentation, you're not allowed to leave that presentation. However, once it's completed, you'll receive that free stay. That's what's being advertised within the great Wolf Lodge lobby so if you feel the need to take the picture in the Photo Booth, that's what will be advertised to you. Overall, the Wolfpack was great. We really enjoy building our build a bears, playing duckpin bowling, enjoying the arcade, the ice cream cup and candy. However, we wish we had more time to do the wand and magic quest activity. Overall great Wolf Lodge was a wonderful experience however, there is a lot of cosmetic damage and dated rooms within the establishment. I have to say that they would benefit from a complete Upgrade to their properties to meet modern feels. read more

My family visited Great Wolf Lodge yesterday. The staff were kind and helpful, but our experience with other guests was extremely upsetting. My granddaughter accidentally bumped into a child while playing and even after apologizing, the child's mother used the N-word toward them. Later, while I was in the jacuzzi area, another guest yelled "yo black girl" to get my attention. No family should experience racist language while trying to enjoy a day with their children. While the employees were polite, the behavior from other guests made the environment feel very uncomfortable and unwelcoming. I hope management takes situations like this seriously so all families can feel safe and respected. read more

This year, instead of giving my grandchildren more toys, I chose to give them an experience. I selected Great Wolf Lodge, even knowing their visit in July was not perfect. I did this because the children were unaware of the issues--they only knew they had fun. As a retiree, spending this kind of money on a gift is significant, so I wanted this experience to be special. Unfortunately, once again, there were numerous problems that should never have occurred. I called in advance to change the reservation name to my daughter's. During that call, unknown by me, the representative misspelled her last name. As a result, when my daughter attempted to check in, she was unable to do so. Although she showed her ID and requested the correction, staff initially could not resolve the issue. Eventually, a staff member was able to assist, but later it was discovered that the incorrect spelling remained in the system. On two separate occasions, employees at the bucket restaurant refused to provide her food and treated her very rudely all because the name still did not match. She experienced the same problem when trying to make a purchase in the lobby store Although I made the name change and updated the phone number and email prior to arrival, I was the person who continued receiving all Great Wolf Lodge messages. This was not corrected until after check-in. At check-in, my daughter was offered a room upgrade that was supposed to include two bunk beds, a queen bed, and a pull-out couch. She was told the room was being finished and would receive a text when it was ready. After waiting 30 minutes, the room was still unavailable, and the family went to dinner. Two and a half hours later, with no communication, my daughter returned to the desk and was initially ignored. Eventually, a staff member handed her a slip of paper with "159" written on it--no explanation or apology provided. When I booked their room, I reserved a room with two queen beds and pull out sofa. The "upgraded" room did not have a sofa. It had two small bunks and one queen bed, which was insufficient for six people--3 adults and 3 children. This forced my oldest granddaughter to leave and drive home both nights. This is unacceptable. A $10 "upgrade" should never result in receiving less than what was originally booked. Additionally, the beds had no blankets, and there were only 4 pillow for 6 people. Upon entering the room, they noticed a strong unpleasant odor. The sheets smelled of marijuana and cigarettes. There were cigarette butts scattered on the patio along with trash left behind. The sheets were described as disgusting, and a dirty bandage and used bar of soap were found on the bathroom counter. The room was clearly not cleaned properly. Finally, my six-year-old granddaughter went down a slide and landed directly in feces, which understandably caused significant distress. This should never happen in a facility designed for children. Two days after returning home, the 3 year old twins both developed yeast infections--the same health issue that happened in July. Please do not book this as a gift for people you love. read more

Every year we go to a Great Wolf Lodge in a different location and this year we went here with a group of friends to the Sandusky location. The lodge itself was not bad if a little packed as you would expect an indoor waterpark to be in OH in January. Unfortunately, the food is what brings this review down significantly. As normal the prices were high since you pay for convivence, but unfortunately this time the food quality was horrible. For food, drinks and dessert we spent about $350 before tip for our group of 5 adults and 4 kids which wouldn't be so bad except the three of the orders had to be sent back for taste and quality, and the rest were only flavored by the salt and pepper we added to them. Even the water park food was bland enough that my kids didnt want to finish their chicken or fries because they werent as good as the frozen stuff we had at home. read more

Great first time experience! Some of the things were confusing and "you don't know what you don't know" so I'm glad I had done research ahead of time because if not I wouldn't have known about the complimentary ears. Employees were very kind and answered questions. If you want to bring things that don't require a locker, go right when the water park opens to save a chair (we packed refillable water bottles, change of clothes, etc.). We didn't actually sit down but wanted a place to put our stuff (one chair for a family of 4). Within 45 minutes every chair was occupied with a body or their belongings and appeared to remain that way for the rest of the day. There were a lot of fun activities for the family but again, some employees may have forgotten that there are new families that don't know where anything is or what anything means. Rated 4 stars due to a cleanliness issue that I noticed last multiple days. Not sure if they ever have the time for deep cleans. Research before you go! It was fun but we'll check out another location next time. Our room was labeled as a balcony room. It consisted of a 3 foot cement slab next to a wooden fence blocking the ac units and other loud motors running. Useless. The magic quest game wasn't working properly. That was a big disappointment to our 7 year old watching everyone else enjoy the game. Though others were also experiencing issues at the same time. Suckered into paying for it regardless of whether or not it worked. The room was next door to the 24 hr bowling alley.... Need I say more? This was for a room booked months in advance at a "discount". I found it for $125 cheaper per night when checking a week before we went. I left a review on their website, I was offered a free nights stay if I considered giving them another opportunity. I decided I would give it a try as my daughter really enjoys the water. 2 weeks later and zero response after the offer. Plenty of other water parks. I have talked to their Customer Service 3x and they supposedly reached out to the I.T. Dept, while we were on the phone. I was told to try back after 24 hrs, try a different card, different devices, which I did and the link still is not working. There is also no phone line to speak to anyone directly at the resort. The phone re-routes you to the general Customer Service. Not user Friendly. I was going to purchase ecards for gifts. Great place! My family and I came to Sandusky to see the solar eclipse, and we chose the right place! The rooms are clean, very lodge themed, and even a balcony! Pool is great, lots of slides and fun water activities. They also have an arcade! I totally recommend this place. We came here on a holiday weekend and were expecting a marginal experience due to the crowds. The worst thing I can say is that they need to clean the restroom/changing area in the water park regularly. It was a swamp, dirt on the floors, and no towels in the dispenser. Everything else was great! The check in and check out was seamless, the room was clean, the bathroom was in decent shape, and despite us being sandwiched in between two baseball teams of preteens, there was no noise coming through the walls. Hannah at the front desk helps us with some area recommendations, and walked us through the magi quest game. Kudos to her. 5 stars for the experience. Dock one for the changing area. This is a concern since this is the only place to change clothes once you've checked out from your room. No one likes to have wet clothes. And no one likes a dirty bathroom. The good - The water park has less attractions than other GWL's we have stayed at but the Jungle-Gym type attraction in the middle was huge. They have a lot of slides for both adults and kids. Only 2 tube slides but the line moves quick. The Bad - The room needed updating for sure. Very limiting with seating in the pool area. We didn't do much else other than sleep and go to the waterpark. So I can't rate anything else, not even the food because we would rather have higher quality food off-site. read more

Stayed here with my brothers and boyfriend during Colossalcon and bike week. We stayed in a family lodge suite so there were two beds and a sofa sleeper. The room also had a mini fridge, hair dryer, and coffee maker with some free coffees. We did not have a microwave in the room sadly, but did locate one next to the ice vending machine so that was good. Breakfast is extra and sadly did not have any vegan options. Apparently they just bring a tray of things like bacon, pancakes, sausage, and eggs so we didn't try it. The main irritation was the price. They charged $15 per car per night despite not doing that in the past and having ample space. One car they just gave us a paper with how long parking was valid for while the other had the license plate recorded with no paper in the window. It was confusing if enforced, but we didn't want to risk a tow. The price also changed. My reservation and the charge at the desk differed by about $150. I asked why the reservation cost changed and was told the resort fees weren't added until check in. After check out I reviewed the invoice they sent and no, the reservation was different and the resort fees were added on top of that so either it changed with no reason or I was charged multiple times. A lot of decor is also missing that used to be there. There used to be animatronics in the lobby now a stage, there used to be a dragon in Magiquest now just an empty space, the water bucket didn't dump in the waterpark, and we're pretty sure the hot tub used to have more decor than a blank wall. The waterpark is nice and the staff kept up with the slides so the lines weren't bad. Overall it was fun, but not as good as it used to be. read more

Not all parks are this same, and this one is a bust. We used to go to the one in Massachusetts which has twice the amount of water attractions including an amazing wave pool and giant water slides. This place has just one water area with a few tube slides. Worst is, we paid just as much for this one as we used to the one in mass. Save your money. Extra star because the rooms are decent. There's a bit of anxiety when it comes to vacationing with small kids right? I even brought my own bottle of wine without an opener so that's a glimpse of how prepared I was for this excursion. The first night was awful. But that had nothing to do with the hotel. It was the kids. They didn't know how to adjust and I see why parents will splurge or get hella mad about splurging. Yes they will charge you $10 for a bud light. But did that convenience surprise you? There are tons of businesses around a 2 mile radius like Meijer, target, Sam's club. The supermarket world is at your fingertips. My tips for your success? Go grocery shopping before you check in. I'm not sure but it should be standard for each room to have a mini fridge (large enough to put food in and a gallon of milk) and a microwave. There's no stove. But hey snacks galore. You don't like the pricing of convenience? Make time to make it more luxurious by shopping outside. For the kiddos pack some robes if you have them. It makes it easier for them to get in and out of the water and into the hotel area. They offer towel service but to avoid any hidden fees, it'll keep the kids warm to and from the water play area to your hotel room. And that's all I can remember about this pending draft I had saved for almost two years. But I finally finished. lol. They have been sending me coupons to go back and it's very enticing. We surprised the kids with a trip here and it was really a great experience. This was close enough to Cedar Point that we took an opportunity to do thr Halloween Event one of the nights ehile we were here (seperate event and not part of great wolf). Parking was decent, we did not have to park far. The place had things plant for all 3 days that we were there (evening events were such as story time, crafts and games... trick or treat on one of the nights in their lobby). The water park itself was fun, everything was in working order for the most part. They even had little puddle jump style floaties for the kiddos to borrow (because this mom totally ignored the fact to grab it when she grabbed towels from home... which btw you do not need tk bring because they offer towel service at the water park here! So save your luggage room!) The room we got were just perfect. Parents slept up in the loft with their own half bath and sink to brush. Kids were downstairs in the two queens(?) And the bathroom down there for them. Room for people to sit and chill. read more

Came in on April 8th from Virginia to see the solar eclipse. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of solar eclipse activities offered when we checked in. They even gave out solar glasses and themed wolf ears for the occasion which was nice. There were also NASA employees there leading some of the activities. The employee dressed as a racoon interacting with the kids seemed very unhappy with having to do so. But the employees escorting them were quite nice and lively. The waterpark at this location is quite a bit smaller than many of the other locations. With the number of guests in the park at times it felt dangerous because of overcrowding. The food from buckets was hot and delicious but the drink from the watering hole was very over poured. read more

We loved everything about our experience at Great Wolf! I decided we needed a January getaway and heard this park was perfect for families with kids my guys age (four). You can either book online or call. I opted to call because I had never been there before and had a lot of questions. It was a bit of a wait, but the person I dealt with was extremely courteous and I informative. We booked a room that had the kids cabin (bunk beds in a separate enclosed area) and a queen size bed. Our first trip we did it all. Bought the wolf pass that had build a bear, magiquest, candy cups etc. With only a one night stay it was a bit too much to try and fit in. People complain that this location is smaller and has less attractions, but that is one of the reasons I loved it. On our first trip it was easy to stay near the kids and ride/play with them. On a return trip when they were eight, it was small enough that I could sit in one of the lounge chairs and still be able to see the kids from almost anywhere in the park but big enough that they literally spent from open until an hour before close the second day. The pool area, hotel room and hallways were all clean and pretty well kept. The one down side was that all of the food options at the resort are really expensive and pretty mediocre. But it is easy to find a huge selection of restaurants and door dash options within five minutes of the hotel. Overall an amazing getaway that I highly recommend!
