We decided to stay here due to the heated family pool, particularly the kiddie pool as our kids were very small and didn't know how to swim. We called ahead a few days and asked about the pool and then made reservations to stop on our way back from Lake Leelanau, MI. We let them know we would be arriving late and were told it wouldn't be a problem. When we arrived we had to knock on the door of the house for several minutes until a lady in her nightgown (it was still daylight out) answered. She checked us in, took my payment, gave us our gate key and we went to our spot. This is more of a trailer park than a campground, there are more large seasonal trailers here than campers. Spots are no frills, ours was pretty much a small yard big enough to park the truck and camper with water. No shade, no nothing. We could live with it due to the pools. However, when we got the kids in their swimsuits and went over to the pools...they were all closed. I found that this was deceptive since when we placed the reservation we told the lady on the phone we were choosing them because of their heated pool for the kids. She took our reservation fee and never bothered to tell us the pool closed shortly after Labor Day. She knew that it would be closed when we got there but didn't bother telling us. I went to the office to complain and was met with indifference. I went and packed up my camper and kids and on my way out demanded my money back which they refused. Great customer service eh? In the end I got my money back because I called my credit card company and issued a chargeback. I hope they got a fee for it on top the chargeback for wasting my time and gas. You're better off staying at East Harbor State Park Campground which is nearby. Even though the sites are primitive, there's a ton of things for kids to do and it has beautiful beaches that don't close down and staff that will take care of you. read more

My husband and I with our 5 & 8 year old were on our way to upstate NY and decided to take a couple of days to enjoy nature. We were referred to Cedarlane by friends who own an RV. I was skeptical because the photos really didn't do this place justice. However - after a couple of phone calls and a couple of FB messenger exchanges, I really felt the warmth and hospitality that this place offered. They answered all of my rookie questions and told us we would really enjoy it. We ended up in one of the wood cabins and proceeded to call our adventure "glamping" because there was a full bed, 2 bunk beds, a dining table w/2 chairs, ceiling fan/light, air conditioning unit, a microwave and college dorm size fridge and outside a fire pit, a charcoal grill (like the ones you see at national parks) and a picnic table. The folks at the front desk were very friendly and so accommodating that they "escorted" us to our camp site.... literally across the driveway and 25 steps away (lol). There were a few other campers and lots of parked RVs towards the back of the camp ground. We were near the dog run so we saw lots of cute pets and nice pet owners. We even met another camping family who offered and gave us a couple starter logs so we didn't have to buy the bucket of wood for the couple of days we were there. Such a nice community! The pool was our fav spot as it was clean, low key with lots of bright and colorful big sun umbrellas and ice cream and hamburger and hot dogs if you wanted to purchase them. The second day we were up early and the staff was kind enough to let us in the pool before it technically open. We had a little burn incident with tiny hands on a hot marshmallow stick and they gave us a first aid ice pack even though we were ready to buy a bag of ice. The only reason I didn't give them a full 5 stars was because the full bed was not very comfortable and bathrooms looked like it could use an update (comparing bathrooms to a previous experience with Cub Scouts @Bert Adams). The beds are a foam type which for the full size bed it was very thick and became too soft over time. The bunk beds were a thinner type foam mattress and it was just fine. Overall the cabin was very clean - no surprise critter visitors. A couple of tips - opt for the gate card ($10 refundable deposit) - it's well worth not calling every time you return to the site. If it's a short stay, go to Walmart (5 min away) and get the fire starter log. On local experiences - Put In Bay is fun - go for the Perry's Cave, we were told by locals. Cedarlane sells the mining bags - probably save a few dollars buying it here and have it in the car with you. If you want to do the African safari adventure, go to Groupon to get your tickets.... it's fun like a drive through petting zoo but nothing extravagant so get coupons or discounted tickets. Originally wanted to stay at this campground because of how safe it was and the pools and activities they offered, looked very fun and inviting. It had great reviews and looked family friendly for my boyfriend and I as we had never been to the area.. they let us pick out a campsite and then right before paying said we weren't allowed to stay there since we were not yet 21..a little unreasonable considering we are 20 and only interested in staying at a nice safe campground for a weekend trip not out for causing trouble. Campground did not have many private spots for tent camping, only had 10 or so spots all very close together, with only a few trees. read more

It is a very large campground, over 300 sites. They do know how to to take care of the campers though. They were courteous and they are located close to surrounding activities, like Put-In-Bay, "fun!". They have about everything you may need there for everyone, especially the kids. We were there to visit our daughter who works at catawba island club and it was super close for us to see her. We would definitely stay here again. read more

Nice place. Would be 5 stars except, apparently, registered vehicles cannot enter outside of business hours. Truck was registered with hang tag, went for 7 AM coffee, came back and had two options: access card (was not given one) or call box (no one in office). read more

Start to finish, We reserved because very few transient sites with sewer and these are top dollar. They escort you to a site and help you set up if needed. We were with another camper and wanted to face them. They lent us an extension cord (extremely helpful) to allow us to pull in opposite the normal direction. When we hooked up water, I was glad I always bring drinking water from home. You could tell the area was the campground growing, trees were only about 5 years old but trimmed nice so the awning could go out easy and nice placement for shade on the dog pen. Gravel for the camper that was very level. Playground for the kids was maintained and pools were clean. They are building another new pool and have 3 already. Nice for the all of us. Surprised that adults at the family pools had coolers and were drinking beer. Since we are ok with this it is almost a nice thing. They have hand packed ice cream, a nice stocked food cooler, and some toys for the kids. Landscape is nice and very well maintained. Restrooms and showers are clean. Lots of overflow parking and parking by the pools, this is a large campground and I have a handicap so this is good access. If you take kids with bikes, take band aids. Just in front of our site way in the back, in two days, three kids took spills. The roads are gravel and some of the chunks are large and throw off the tires and bikers lose balance. Two complaints: One for the other campers, CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOG WHEN USING THE PET AREA. Two, they patrol the campsites every 15 minutes for people checking out and it becomes obnoxious after the third time because they are staring at you while you pack up. TOO OFTEN TO BE STARED AT SO YOU GET UNCOMFORTABLE. After three hours of this we were glad to leave. It stared while we were cooking breakfast and we pulled out at 11:15AM. read more

We are just finishing our family vacation at Cedarlane RV Park. We leave in the morning. I can't say enough good about the place. From check in, to landscaping, spacious sites, lots of shade, and fun pool area, It is all great. I would recommend to anyone in the area. Close to so many things. I appreciate the locked gates and the required arm bands for the pool area. Feels like a safe clean environment all the time. The staff has been awesome. Campground is nice and clean. Staff was courteous and accommodating. We camped with friends and the staff helped us place our campers facing each other and even gave us an extension cord to make that possible. Camp Store is well stocked and ice cream was available for purchase on site. Pools and shower houses and laundry room were clean. Campground seems pretty centrally located as the Miller Ferry was close as well as the East Harbor Beach. Did not give 5 stars as there was not any planned activities for the kids during the day or evening and the park was not paved, so lots of stones ended up in my camper. read more

This is a large, nice, clean, well maintained and centrally located RV Park. Mostly long term, permanent campers here. Definitely family oriented and not a "party all night" type of place. (The rules & regulations sheet is very long and tedious.) There's 2 pool areas, one for children and one for "18 yrs old & over" (which I love the idea of). The park store is well stocked and even sells cold beer and frozen daiquiri's. On the other hand, they don't allow golf cart use (other than staff & grandfathered campers) in the park. They did tell us that ahead of time, but this is a LARGE place and an issue for anyone who has trouble walking. Taxi's are also not allowed into the park and must pick up & drop off outside the gate. Overall, it was fine for our 1-night stay after making a spontaneous decision to visit Put-In-Bay and randomly picking out this place from the Internet. Note, one way taxi fare from the RV Park to the Jet- Express ferry cost $12 for 2 adults. read more

We stayed here for Memorial Day weekend and loved it! Great place for families, great pools for kids. My two year old loved it. Everyone was very friendly and staff is extremely helpful. It is a safe place with gated access to park. Also a lot to do in surrounding area, State Park is only 1 mile away. We plan staying here again this summer, I definitely recommend for families with kids of all ages. read more

We rented a cabin. All-in-all it was nice, just a little small compared to other cabins I have rented. The site was nice with some shade for the picnic table during meals and a nice fire ring for wonderful family fires at night time. We picked this place to rent solely because of the pool because there were other bigger cabins that were cheaper in the area - so the pool was the sole deciding factor. When we got there, we found out that the kids(who are 13 and avid swimmers) were only allowed to swim in the 3 foot kid pool. We asked repeatedly if we could swim in the deeper pool when noone else is in it and were told no. So, we reserved this vacation because of the swimming pool and only went in the baby pool for a total of 15 minutes for the whole 4 day vacation. Instead we went to Lake Erie where the water came up higher than their waists. (they are both approximately 5 foot) For the price, we actually could have stayed in a hotel with a swimming pool however, we wouldn't have been able to have wonderful campfires at night at a hotel so I don't regret it....... just wish I would have asked more questions about the pool policies before reserving it. read more
