The rooms were large but TV smaller and older. All around are highways, hotels, cornfields and several restaurants. 10 miles away is Cedar Point. Our room is quiet from the outside noise right now. The manager was sweet and it looks like breakfast will have options . Breakfast of : hot oatmeal, eggs, waffles and sausage Yogurt, whole fruit, bagels, bread, etc with condiments The place is freezing inside because of AC so bring a jacket.

Front desk staff very nice at check-in. 2 queen room was spacious with trundle sofa, that was comfortable for school age child. Extra pillow and comforter in closet for trundle soft but no additional sheets. Room has spacious bathroom, mini fridge, but no microwave. In hallway there is an ice machine and filtered water refill, which was great. Hotel had just opened within 1 month, but concerning is how dirty the floors/hallways are already. Carpet wasn't cleanly placed and you can see a lot of flaws throughout but not a huge deal. The dirty tile and carpeted floor just soon after opening is a little concerning so soon after opening. The stairs and hallways were not vacumed the 3 days we were there. The room was clean but not spotless on check-in. We asked for towels one evening and they were brought up within minutes by very kind staff. Breakfast had microwave style pork bacon, spinach/swiss crustless quiche (which was really great), assorted bagels, plain Greek yogurt, dairy and non-dairy milk options. Warm oatmeal and topping station for oatmeal/yogurt was great. Basic hotel hot coffee/tea options, Scrambled eggs with salsa/hot sauce. Waffle making station (2). The breakfast area is quite small and gets very busy after 8am, with staff having a hard time keeping items stocked and long wait to make a waffle. Breakfast is great prior to 8am. Pool area is very small and when more than 2 families are in pool, feels cramped and busy. No hot tub. I went to 24/7 gym each morning and used treadmill, which was nice. The sensor for lighting when working out (during dark hours) is a safety issue. Every 20 minutes the lights turned off completely, you would need to get off equipment and walk over to the door to turn lights back on. Filtered water station but bring your own bottle. Pricey for location, amenities but not a bad choice overall.

We let them know we would be arriving late and were told it wouldn't be a problem. When we arrived we had to knock on the door of the house for several minutes until a lady in her nightgown (it was still daylight out) answered. She checked us in, took my payment, gave us our gate key and we went to our spot. This is more of a trailer park than a campground, there are more large seasonal trailers here than campers. Spots are no frills, ours was pretty much a small yard big enough to park the truck and camper with water. No shade, no nothing. We could live with it due to the pools. However, when we got the kids in their swimsuits and went over to the pools...they were all closed. I found that this was deceptive since when we placed the reservation we told the lady on the phone we were choosing them because of their heated pool for the kids. She took our reservation fee and never bothered to tell us the pool closed shortly after Labor Day. She knew that it would be closed when we got there but didn't bother telling us. I went to the office to complain and was met with indifference. I went and packed up my camper and kids and on my way out demanded my money back which they refused. Great customer service eh? In the end I got my money back because I called my credit card company and issued a chargeback. I hope they got a fee for it on top the chargeback for wasting my time and gas. You're better off staying at East Harbor State Park Campground which is nearby. Even though the sites are primitive, there's a ton of things for kids to do and it has beautiful beaches that don't close down and staff that will take care of you.

I was skeptical because the photos really didn't do this place justice. However - after a couple of phone calls and a couple of FB messenger exchanges, I really felt the warmth and hospitality that this place offered. They answered all of my rookie questions and told us we would really enjoy it. We ended up in one of the wood cabins and proceeded to call our adventure "glamping" because there was a full bed, 2 bunk beds, a dining table w/2 chairs, ceiling fan/light, air conditioning unit, a microwave and college dorm size fridge and outside a fire pit, a charcoal grill (like the ones you see at national parks) and a picnic table. The folks at the front desk were very friendly and so accommodating that they "escorted" us to our camp site.... literally across the driveway and 25 steps away (lol). There were a few other campers and lots of parked RVs towards the back of the camp ground. We were near the dog run so we saw lots of cute pets and nice pet owners. We even met another camping family who offered and gave us a couple starter logs so we didn't have to buy the bucket of wood for the couple of days we were there. Such a nice community! The pool was our fav spot as it was clean, low key with lots of bright and colorful big sun umbrellas and ice cream and hamburger and hot dogs if you wanted to purchase them. The second day we were up early and the staff was kind enough to let us in the pool before it technically open. We had a little burn incident with tiny hands on a hot marshmallow stick and they gave us a first aid ice pack even though we were ready to buy a bag of ice. The only reason I didn't give them a full 5 stars was because the full bed was not very comfortable and bathrooms looked like it could use an update (comparing bathrooms to a previous experience with Cub Scouts @Bert Adams). The beds are a foam type which for the full size bed it was very thick and became too soft over time. The bunk beds were a thinner type foam mattress and it was just fine. Overall the cabin was very clean - no surprise critter visitors. A couple of tips - opt for the gate card ($10 refundable deposit) - it's well worth not calling every time you return to the site. If it's a short stay, go to Walmart (5 min away) and get the fire starter log. On local experiences - Put In Bay is fun - go for the Perry's Cave, we were told by locals. Cedarlane sells the mining bags - probably save a few dollars buying it here and have it in the car with you. If you want to do the African safari adventure, go to Groupon to get your tickets.... it's fun like a drive through petting zoo but nothing extravagant so get coupons or discounted tickets. To be fair, the rooms were relatively clean, and you can tell they've tried to update an older motel. The front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. The complimentary breakfast was simple but well done, and the older ladies running it were hardworking, welcoming, and kept everything stocked. The pool & hot tub were great. Almost no one uses it during the day. That said, for a room that cost nearly 300 a night, I expected more. The rooms are very small, the air conditioner was extremely loud, and there was a noticeable gap under the door that could easily let bugs or other critters inside. The biggest issue was that some of the posted rules didn't seem to be enforced. The pool was supposed to close at 11 p.m., but there was still quite a bit of activity afterward. There is also a picnic area where another sports team gathered with a large Bluetooth speaker playing music late into the night, making it difficult to relax and sleep. Overall, it's a decent place if you need a convenient location near Cedar Point, but be prepared to pay premium prices during peak times for accommodations that are fairly basic. Pro tip: Book directly with the hotel instead of using Hotels.com or similar sites. The direct rates were significantly lower than what the third-party booking sites were charging.

So let's backtrack before the review goes full in depth…read more Originally coming to this park in June me and a buddy were planning to stay at the Cedar Point express but thanks to some bad timing on the short staff of employees to start off the year I had to rework my stay and they claimed I cancelled the rebook (to which I didn't) and they hooked me up to stay at Lighthouse point. Keep in mind, haven't been there in 21 years haven't driven any car to the hotel going by the coasters to get to our place to stay and wow was it worth it. The cabins were amazing and we stayed at room 150 (at the time of making this review the park has been around for 150 years so ironic I know) but seeing Magnum XL 200's turnaround as you leave the cabin was awesome especially when it was testing before the park opening. Beds were nice and comfortable and I wish I would've known about this place sooner than later. If you can't do hotel breakers but want to do a little more, high recommend Lighthouse Point

When we opened the door it seemed like the housekeepers had come in to clean out but didn't add any shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. There was no hair dryer. There were no cups, there was nothing extra but towels. And we spent three nights. The mattresses were lumpy. It was crappy enough sleeping on a double bed but the mattresses were all terrible. This is supposed to be the Mecca in the USA for coaster fanatics. And yes, we have been all over the USA to ride coasters and check out all sizes of parks. This was pretty much the worst place we have ever stayed in property. The food was pretty awful as well js. When you play with the big boys you have to keep up with the big boys and this is not keeping up. SMH. Loved the view.
