If you stay here make sure it isn't for a relaxing vacation. The hotels around Cedar Point are pretty pricy, especially when you are on a budget. After the cost for tickets, we really didn't want to spend a lot on a hotel and since it was last notice and peak season, we didn't have many options. We booked about a week in advance since is was (sort of) a in the moment decision. There were openings at other hotels, but they were way above our budget. I mean it was like over $100 for the motel 6 15 mins away. Not really knowing the area, we chose the Quality Lodge that was really close to Cedar Point. Let me tell you, you get what you pay for. This is not a nice place. This isn't the kind of place you want to stay at for a relaxing vacation or for a long period of time. However, if you don't want to pay tons of money when planning a day at Cedar Point, this place isn't too bad. I have definitely stayed at worse budget hotels, but this place is a little different. The front desk is actually in someone's house! When we were checking out, the attendant had her pjs on and looked like she just rolled out of bed. Obviously, this isn't very professional, but for the price, I didn't really mind. She was nice and that is the important thing. The TV was old and didn't have many channels. The toilet chose when it wanted to work and it didn't work when you wanted it to if you know what I mean... ;) There were stains on the wall and you really didn't want to walk around outside late at night because it was kind of sketchy.
By most standards giving this hotel 3 stars sounds crazy, after all, it falls short of many hotels in the area. If this were a Hilton, clearly it would get negative stars. However, it isn't a Hilton; it is a Quality Lodge. I knew what I was getting into when I decided to book this hotel. I wanted cheap and I got cheap. This wasn't a relaxing vacation, it was a place to sleep after spending the day at Cedar Point. It definitely didn't exceed my expectations, but it is what it is. A cheap place to sleep. The bed was comfy, they had hot water, and while the toilet was an inconvenience, it did work sometimes. Overall, I can't complain. You aren't going to get high quality for less than $70 a night on short notice during peak season right by Cedar Point. You aren't going to get high quality for less than $70 most places. When I want a cheap place to sleep, as long as the stains on the wall aren't blood and there is no disgusting hair in the bed sheets, I'm good! :D Just make sure you know what you are getting into before you book. read more
