We rented a unit on the lake. For the amount of money we spent and the view the cabin was lacking. When we walked up to it the first thing we all noticed was the rot on our building and the front deck hadn't been pressure washed in a long while. The chairs outside needed to be cleaned as they were filthy and moldy. When we opened the door it seemed like the housekeepers had come in to clean out but didn't add any shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. There was no hair dryer. There were no cups, there was nothing extra but towels. And we spent three nights. The mattresses were lumpy. It was crappy enough sleeping on a double bed but the mattresses were all terrible. This is supposed to be the Mecca in the USA for coaster fanatics. And yes, we have been all over the USA to ride coasters and check out all sizes of parks. This was pretty much the worst place we have ever stayed in property. The food was pretty awful as well js. When you play with the big boys you have to keep up with the big boys and this is not keeping up. SMH. Loved the view. read more

Hoping things change, cabins are not bad but there were no pictures of the upstairs loft area (with about 2ft of headroom) where 2 other bedrooms are... could be SO much better so far. Very much enjoyed this campground. The website is well documented and easy to figure out what you want and get a good package that includes park admissions. Or in my case, it was easy to get the spot and park admissions so I could stay at the campground and relax while the rest of the family spends the day in the park. The check-in process was easy and they have lots of room for 15-25 campers arriving at the same time. Lots of pull through spots, but we got a back in spot that was on a big circle so backing in was super easy without holding up traffic. Only the deluxe sites, which weren't available for us, had fire rings, but they all had charcoal grills. The sites were very level so getting setup was easy. We have a pop up and it has to be pretty level to work right. The onsite store was nice. It includes in and out passes so I could go into town while everyone else was at the park. We had a great time, getting out was just as easy. read more

Location is great for going back and forth from the park to your trailer (if you have an all day pass) it's easily a 5-10 min walk to the front gates and is great access! Very nice and clean campground except... I was sleeping the first night when I woke up to a putrid sour smell that reeked like vomit. Not just a slight hint in the air, it was SO STRONG. I actually felt nauseated from the smell. I had no clue what it could be until I later found out that the park keeps the dumpsters not even 100 feet from the first few campsites (including mine)... And don't think that the smell is just a one time thing, no. it's every day and every night, about every 10-20 min you get a WAFT of sour park trash. It is so strong and terrible I can't even sit outside and enjoy a campfire with my family and friends for more than 30 min without needing to go inside... I'm sure the smell is not even noticeable at farther sites, but the first few when you come in are AWFUL. Not to mention the sound of the rollercoasters test driving at 3 AM along with trucks slamming and beeping all night. so unless you somehow lost your sense of hearing and smell, I would recommend skipping the campsite and booking the hotel. read more

My family has stayed here on two separate trips, both times in the lakeside cabins. We really enjoy the close proximity to Cedar Point's resort gate. Lighthouse Point guests are allowed early access into Cedar Point, one hour before the public is allowed in. All of the cabins face Lake Erie, and have nice decks. It is very enjoyable to sit on the deck and watch the sunrise or sunset. You will see everything from small sailboats to huge barges, and also a variety of birds and other wildlife. There are parking spaces within several feet of each cabin. Parking is free during your stay. You can drive closer to the resort gate for entry into Cedar Point, or leave your car at the cabin and walk. Shuttle busses also run all day and until a few hours after CP closes. These busses are free, and they take you anywhere on the peninsula. You can ride to the front gate, to the marina, and other places. Light housekeeping is done daily. read more

For $600/night, I would expect a cabin that: - Isn't falling apart - Isn't infested with bugs Don't get me wrong, I love Cedar Point, and staying in the park is a great way to maximize time spent in the area. This was our first time staying here. I have always been partial to Hotel Breakers, but I couldn't get a reservation there this weekend. The Lighthouse Point cottages are very nice. The landscaping is great with the sea grass and trees. The deck is really nice since it's right on the lake. The only drawbacks I see are the location, the pool area, and the lack of restaurants. It's further to walk than the Breakers. The pool is nowhere near as nice as the beach and pool areas at the Breakers. There are no restaurants at Lighthouse Point. If you have a lot of toiletries, there is no counter space in the bathroom in the cottage. I find that a major drawback. I wouldn't say it's a bad place, but compared to the Breakers, I wouldn't want to stay there again. read more

Located right next to the park and water park. Dedicated entrance to the park and early entry for those staying. The campground was clean and lots of amenities. Pool, hot tub, laundry, and a store. Cable worked great as well. We liked it so much, we have already booked again. read more

So let's backtrack before the review goes full in depth Originally coming to this park in June me and a buddy were planning to stay at the Cedar Point express but thanks to some bad timing on the short staff of employees to start off the year I had to rework my stay and they claimed I cancelled the rebook (to which I didn't) and they hooked me up to stay at Lighthouse point. Keep in mind, haven't been there in 21 years haven't driven any car to the hotel going by the coasters to get to our place to stay and wow was it worth it. The cabins were amazing and we stayed at room 150 (at the time of making this review the park has been around for 150 years so ironic I know) but seeing Magnum XL 200's turnaround as you leave the cabin was awesome especially when it was testing before the park opening. Beds were nice and comfortable and I wish I would've known about this place sooner than later. If you can't do hotel breakers but want to do a little more, high recommend Lighthouse Point read more

On our recent trip to Cedar Point we stayed at Lighthouse Point which was the next best thing to what I call fake camping. We had a quaint cabin which slept 8-10 people comfortably. There was a full sized bed in a separate private room, two large futons that were quite uncomfortable as the mattress pads on both were old and worn but slept three teens on each. There's a small loft that was great for smaller children to sleep in sleeping bags also (my smaller boys (12 & 13) loved it. Small kitchenette with dorm size fridge, microwave and coffee pot was perfect for our needs here. The bathroom was extremely small but functional. There was a picnic table and charcoal grill in front of each cabin which was nice to grill brats, burgers and hot dogs. The cabin has the scent of cedar but the smell isn't bad once you either open the windows or turn the air conditioning on. The wife and I enjoyed our stay and so did our boys but the girls were tuff critics. I would certainly go again without teenage girls. read more

The campground itself is ok. The bathrooms are repulsive and the pool is filled with bugs. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned at all the whole day. Bugs in the shower dead bugs on the floor everything was just gross. read more

We have camped in a lot of nice campgrounds. For a 120 a night to camp this might be the worse. 1) No Bikes. Why you ask no clue 2) no where to have a camp fire 3) sites are extremely small 4) pool area is dirty, leaves everywhere, pool is disgusting with bandaids, leaves and dirt all along the bottom and pool deck 5) bathrooms are filthy. They looks as if they have never been cleaned Now if you like having the convenience of going in and out of the park well here you go. But for this absolutely overpriced camp ground, I suggest the KOa or really any other campground besides this one. read more

This place was disgusting ! We came in and the smell of old clothes that were sitting in the washing machine hit us in the face! When we went to the bathroom it smelled so bad of urine, so I decided to mix some soap and water in the sink and try to clean the floor. It was so disgusting ! The towel I used is pictured and is black from just the small bathroom floor. When I took my socks and shoes off and so did my kids to get comfy and my son said " mom look at my feet" they were black! And I mean black! Like we had been outside walking in mud but we had only been in the cabin for 2 hours , unpacking and getting comfy. That's the rag I used to wash my sons feet off. So I had to mop all the floors because they were so gross. Not to mention all the mold in the bathroom shower ! And the smell of old stale clothes was coming from the shower curtain! It was so horrible we took it off and used our beach towel as the shower curtain ! As if that wasnt enough , the bugs and spiders everywhere in the cottage was terrible! The dust and dirt beside the toilet and cabinets was insane and looked like it hasn't been cleaned In years. I would much rather have stayed at a hotel than this cottage for the price! It was so gross in here. I do not recommend. The microwave is dirty and smells like burnt popcorn or it's going bad , one or the other. We had one working remote and when I asked for batteries at the check in desk, they told me they would make a note and have them replaced when they cleaned next, which didn't help me as I was here for 3 days ! Every single window was unlocked in our cottage ! Be careful ! That's how thief's work around here ! read more

I'm giving this a full 5. So easy to stay here and what a unique experience! We loved it and if we are ever back in the Midwest, we may try to revisit. The sites were very nice, good water, electric, easy setup, felt private, elbow room, great restrooms, not too busy even at the high of summer (July), nice furniture provided, good breeze, free WiFi (no password so my boys even used their PlayStation) access to wonderful dog walking options, walk to the main beach along a pathway next to the coasters, 6 minute walk to park gate, get into the park an hour early (even if you buy the $25 after 5 pm ticket). I don't know why others are saying they couldn't have a fire, out patio had a nice fire out with chairs placed all around it. We've traveled completely across the country and are on our way back towards California and thought this was totally a great place! read more

BEWARE BED BUGS!!! We spent over $1000 for our large family to have a nice vacation at Cedar point and chose to stay in one of the deluxe cabins. Arrival was great, we were able to check in quickly and the staff was very friendly. After a long day we headed to the Cabin. That night would turn into a living nightmare as bedbugs began to feast on me, my 2yr old and husband. The next morning we brought it directly to the supervisors attention. She seemed hesitant and told a co worker she never saw a bug in our cabin, so we came back and caught one and showed them. The response we got "you'll have to wait for the exterminator to give a report" What for? We have the living biting proof right here.. On top of this, they double charged my account. I now how to wait 5-10 business days to get $1,099.21 back that I didn't even know was going to be charged or allow to be charged.. Icing on the cake, I'm having an allergic reaction to the bites. We had to treat our rental car for bugs and replace our clothing. BEWARE OF BED BUGS! read more

It was nice but very small lots my awning on my travel trailer hit the trees, the bathrooms were not very clean but acceptable the shuttles were a joke no playground ok pool w hot tub no bikes or fire pits the front desk did there job but did not care. No dicount for platinum pass people. I felt safe as the Sandusky police drove by several times but did not see cedar point police. People staying were not scary as they are in some campgrounds "koa Sandusky" nice but I expected cleaner bathrooms and better shuttle service and a nice check in staff read more

We are staying in our RV at the campground. Very nice pull through site. Concrete level pad and pad for picnic table. The arborvitae used as privacy is a very nice touch since there is not much space between sites. The reason I didn't give four stars is that I couldn't find info anywhere regarding trash pickup. However, saw them this morning picking up trash. The other reason is that when we weren't outside, I saw people from cabins cutting through our site! THIS IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE & WORST RV PARK WE'VE EVER BEEN TO IN 5 YEARS OF TRAVELING ACROSS THE COUNTRY & HAVING STAYED AT 100'S OF RV PARKS! It was $120 a night for a pull thru with a filthy dirty pad and a filthy dirty picnic table! The least that could be done before checkin is to either hose it down or blow it off (especially when you're paying top dollar!). The wifi didn't work for the whole 1st day & when I checked it online, I discovered that it probably needed to be reset, so I called the only # I had, which gets you to reservations. The 1st time I called the recording said they didn't open till 9am, even thought I could see the front door of the office & could see customers coming in & out. The 2nd time I called, they transferred me to that office & I asked for a manager to report that the wifi needed to be reset. He said he could call an IT guy to come out & when I asked how long it would be, he said he couldn't tell me. I also reported that the so-called shuttle that is supposed to pick you up & bring you back to the park (after calling for it), passed us up (in fact 7 of them passed us up!). Our son & daughter in law rented the least expensive cabin ($360 a night) & were not allowed to check in until 4pm (which is the stated time) but then after waiting until 4pm, the cabin was DIRTY! Someone had spilled soda on the floor & it was sticky & when wiped up it became apparent the floor hadn't been mopped in a very long time. Also there was a missing blind on the kitchen window & a VERY uncomfortable futon for my granddaughter to sleep on. THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM A PLACE THAT CHARGES $360 A NIGHT FOR A CABIN! WE WILL NEVER BE BACK & ANYONE CONTEMPLATING COMING SHOULD THINK TWICE & SAVE YOUR MONEY! read more

My family and I stayed at Cedar Point's lighthouse point cabins and it was outstanding. The cabin slept 8-10 people. We had cabin 132. The only downfall of the cabin was that it was right under the magnum and therefore it was a bit loud until the ride turned off. But, no points taken off because after all it is Cedar Point Roller Coast! The cabin had a picnic area outside. Very nice for cookouts. We brought our own fire pit and it was perfect. The small living room had a nice tv and two pull out futons that slept 4 people comfortably if needed. The kitchen had no stove (however, we are camping so the grill outside is perfect). It also had a microwave and fridge and sink. Pretty neat. The two bathrooms were small but very functional. The back bedroom was pretty spacious and the upstairs loft had two queen size beds. It was perfect for sleeping arrangements. The cabin had air conditioning which was much needed. It was like a tiny house from HGTV. Super cool! It was awesome to be so close to the park. The customer service was great. We needed towels...we got towels. We needed comforters...we got comforters! At one point an alarm was set and woke everyone up inconveniently. When we called the front office to express disappointment, they gave us 8 tickets to the park. Outstanding customer service! I would recommend these cabin to everyone. Spend the money, have fun! read more
