Cottages have nice decks that face the lake
    Missi R.

My family has stayed here on two separate trips, both times in the lakeside cabins. We really enjoy the close proximity to Cedar Point's resort gate. Lighthouse Point guests are allowed early access into Cedar Point, one hour before the public is allowed in. All of the cabins face Lake Erie, and have nice decks. It is very enjoyable to sit on the deck and watch the sunrise or sunset. You will see everything from small sailboats to huge barges, and also a variety of birds and other wildlife. There are parking spaces within several feet of each cabin. Parking is free during your stay. You can drive closer to the resort gate for entry into Cedar Point, or leave your car at the cabin and walk. Shuttle busses also run all day and until a few hours after CP closes. These busses are free, and they take you anywhere on the peninsula. You can ride to the front gate, to the marina, and other places. Light housekeeping is done daily.

    Broken bathroom door

We stayed in one of the deluxe cabins with some friends this summer. For $600/night, I would expect a cabin that: - Isn't falling apart - Isn't infested with bugs Don't get me wrong, I love Cedar Point, and staying in the park is a great way to maximize time spent in the area. But this was just unacceptable for the high price point. Stay in the breakers instead.

This was our first time staying here. I have always been partial to Hotel Breakers, but I couldn't get a reservation there this weekend. The Lighthouse Point cottages are very nice. The landscaping is great with the sea grass and trees. The deck is really nice since it's right on the lake. The only drawbacks I see are the location, the pool area, and the lack of restaurants. It's further to walk than the Breakers. The pool is nowhere near as nice as the beach and pool areas at the Breakers. There are no restaurants at Lighthouse Point. If you have a lot of toiletries, there is no counter space in the bathroom in the cottage. I find that a major drawback. I wouldn't say it's a bad place, but compared to the Breakers, I wouldn't want to stay there again.

Love this campground. Patio sites by the water are amazing. Great views, super clean and an easy walk over to both parks.

Living room area with two futons

On our recent trip to Cedar Point we stayed at Lighthouse Point which was the next best thing to what I call fake camping. We had a quaint cabin which slept 8-10 people comfortably. There was a full sized bed in a separate private room, two large futons that were quite uncomfortable as the mattress pads on both were old and worn but slept three teens on each. There's a small loft that was great for smaller children to sleep in sleeping bags also (my smaller boys (12 & 13) loved it. Small kitchenette with dorm size fridge, microwave and coffee pot was perfect for our needs here. The bathroom was extremely small but functional. There was a picnic table and charcoal grill in front of each cabin which was nice to grill brats, burgers and hot dogs. The cabin has the scent of cedar but the smell isn't bad once you either open the windows or turn the air conditioning on. The wife and I enjoyed our stay and so did our boys but the girls were tuff critics. I would certainly go again without teenage girls.

    Bathroom

The campground itself is ok. The bathrooms are repulsive and the pool is filled with bugs. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned at all the whole day. Bugs in the shower dead bugs on the floor everything was just gross.

    Mushrooms in bathroom cottage 15

Cottage 15 LightHouse point. July 19-22, 2021. Terrible accommodations. This cottage should never been available to the public!

Dust and gunk built up behind the toilet

This place was disgusting ! We came in and the smell of old clothes that were sitting in the washing machine hit us in the face! When we went to the bathroom it smelled so bad of urine, so I decided to mix some soap and water in the sink and try to clean the floor. It was so disgusting ! The towel I used is pictured and is black from just the small bathroom floor. When I took my socks and shoes off and so did my kids to get comfy and my son said " mom look at my feet" they were black! And I mean black! Like we had been outside walking in mud but we had only been in the cabin for 2 hours , unpacking and getting comfy. That's the rag I used to wash my sons feet off. So I had to mop all the floors because they were so gross. Not to mention all the mold in the bathroom shower ! And the smell of old stale clothes was coming from the shower curtain! It was so horrible we took it off and used our beach towel as the shower curtain ! As if that wasnt enough , the bugs and spiders everywhere in the cottage was terrible! The dust and dirt beside the toilet and cabinets was insane and looked like it hasn't been cleaned In years. I would much rather have stayed at a hotel than this cottage for the price! It was so gross in here. I do not recommend. The microwave is dirty and smells like burnt popcorn or it's going bad , one or the other. We had one working remote and when I asked for batteries at the check in desk, they told me they would make a note and have them replaced when they cleaned next, which didn't help me as I was here for 3 days ! Every single window was unlocked in our cottage ! Be careful ! That's how thief's work around here !

The birds attacked my infant son and we didn't get any money from this. Great cabins but once you go outside you might get attacked

Loved being on the lake and not far from parks. Quiet and charming and better than a camp site.

I normally stay in my own camper for 10 days plus this trip was only three nights so I decided to to not bring a camper and stay in one of there tiny homes... first one key for three adults ! Patio furniture was absolutely filthy, bedroom door wouldn't latch and would not stay closed vent in bathroom leaks when raining hard .. it's over the toilet so just opened lid and it dripped in toilet. Shower was small no night stands or anything in bedrooms other than linens. Worst part one key !! Got separated from group in complete downpour and stood outside of tiny home waiting for them in the rain . Asked office if they had another key or could let me in I was told No .. disappointed to say the least. I would recommend staying in your own camper here

We probably could've stayed in the cabins and still pay way less than any hotels around town. I could not believe how close this was to CP. We literally turn out of the KOA and was at the light where the giant sign is in less than 60 seconds. The grounds were clean and our spot was very centrally located and it has a paved patio, a gliding bench, built it fire-pit, table with chairs and umbrella. We were easily able to come back to the campsite in the middle of our trip to eat lunch then go back instead of paying $20 for hot dog and fries, which was another big plus. I was also super impressed with the amenities. It has a pickleball court, which I've never seen before but definitely worth noting. Because it's one of their Halloween weekends, they had trick or treating, a mini carnival games thing that sells food and include games like tire toss where you're tossing heads into the tires, etc. At night, after it got dark, they literally set up a haunted house, which apparently was pretty awesome. I stayed back to watch the dogs, but I could definitely hear screams and clowns banging on some metal barrels and made it pretty legit. Being October, their 2 pools were obviously done, but there were 2 pools! We're definitely staying there again when we go back.

They are definitely overpriced and reaching on the title resort , when they dont offer much in the way of entertainment or activities for guest , and if you do attempt to have any type of fun on your site they will come by and count people and ask for arm bands , any one without a band they will charge you 10 dollars per person and claim they you are staying on property and its ohio health code rules its a money grab , if the code enforcement was actually a thing or they did the job correctly, this location would have violations all over , from guest sites flooding, to standing water in sites for days , we seen one couple that had water in their site most of the summer. The park doesn't do anything for mosquitoes, they claim the water fountains are the solution to what they offer , but over look the standing water they have and allow, also some guest had a large amount of animal poop the smell walking past was definitely noticeable. I was sold on a family resort with…read moreactivities, crafts, park, movie nights, stocked ponds for fishing, pickle ball courts, pool, gas fire pits, courtyard lighting and a jumping pad for kids!! All construction to be completed by the time we moved into our new seasonal spot in May 2024. I absolutely did not expect things to be completed as promised in May, and not only were most all of the amenities incomplete, there was sadly zero communication or a timeline for when things would be completed. The park and jumping pad were closed most weekends for "construction" with no construction workers on site. They finally opened and were completed the weekend of the 4th of July. The seasonal bathhouse, across from the site I picked (paid 500 extra to choose the site) was never built but saved for phase 2 "in a few years". The destination campers for guests and families to rent were never delivered. As promised, a secure gate with key card access was never installed, a dog park for the seasonal side of the campground was never installed, basically the map I was shown in the sales pitch never came to fruition. The stocked ponds (retention basins) were never stocked with fish until mid October. Not a single email or communication, all season about when or why the projects could not or were not completed. My husband went to the office twice in person, and left a detailed message for Heather (general manager) only to get zero response back. Next, the resorts model is to only staff 4-6 people from 9-5pm only, even the camp store closes at 5pm. No staff presence at the park, pool or entrance to the resort. The gas fire pits sat incomplete and inoperable from May 1 until July 4th weekend. I observed multiple door dash drivers driving recklessly, in and out of the resort at all hours of the night. Again, no staff present meant that multiple family's were showing up at the pool letting their kids bring playing cards into the hot tub etc with no one to stop or correct these behaviors. The hired lawn mowing company hit multiple sewer hoses and put holes in them, and it was not communicated to guests. My very frustrated husband, left messages and fb messages in a private FB group (for seasonal guests only) reaching out to management looking for answers or any response to our concerns. Unfortunately, the managers husband (full time maintenance guy for RVC) showed up at my campsite (Labor Day weekend) and pounded on my camper door, immediately sent me into a state of panic screaming and cussing at my husband "your trying to get my wife fired, your a big p$&y and proceeded to try to start a fist fight with my husband in front of my two children. He also promised to get us kicked out of the campground while holding his phone shouting that he was "recording him" throughout the confrontation. It was so traumatizing for me personally, not only were we verbally assaulted, he had no regard for the fact that my children were standing outside watching, he was and still is employed by this company. This was our breaking point, and my husband immediately reached out to the VP of the resort, who apologized, brushed off our concerns and did not address the issue. After this event, we started getting regular emails with suspicious complaints, damages to the property (there were none) threats of footage of the vandals, but of course no footage could be found of these alleged incidents. Underage children crashing golf carts into camp posts with not a scratch or dent on ANY seasonal golf carts. I immediately felt remorse for not following my gut, filing a police report and pressing charges after the verbal assault and threats made to my family by the unruly maintenance employee. For the reminder of our season, I was saddled with worry and fear about the unstable employee lurking around the resort. Lastly, three days before pulling out the VP reached out and accused my husband of squealing his tires(again) pulling out onto the highway, only to be confirmed that it was not our trucks make or model.
