Nothing fancy here, just a good, clean park that is open year round. Great spot if you are going through Detroit from, or to, Canada.

Went down for a family friend's birthday party with our little travel trailer. Overall, a pretty…read moremediocre/decent experience. The good: The water slide was awesome. Well-kept playground, tasty and reasonably priced food at the Snack Shack, pleasant employees. The luau party was fun, the kids were treated great everywhere we went. Some other comments mentioned racist attitudes, but my mixed-race group had no problems that I observed with either the staff nor the clientele. Drunken fight / argument between 4-5 at the rental cabins across the street from our campsite. Why is this in the "plus" column? Security responded quickly, de-escalated the situation, and stayed nearby to monitor without bringing in law enforcement pre-emptively. Everyone went to bed safely, everything was quiet before midnight, and nobody had to wake up in jail. The bad: Highway noise kept us up at night - VERY close to the highway. Tight campsites - I couldn't let my dog off on a 20' leash because the neighbors kept complaining she was encroaching on "their space." Paying $3 extra per night because I have two kids (instead of one kid) under the age of 6 is ridiculous. No pool; only a lake with questionable-smelling warm water. Game room was musty and had an air hockey table that had an out of order sign that looked older than my kids. Mini golf course could really use someone with a leaf blower to get all the sand and debris off of it. Our site had no picnic table because a neighbor had "commandeered" it and had three, but we stole it back while they were away. There should be documented policy on what's minimally available at each site. Bad yellow jacket problem. This was overall a pretty good campsite. My kids had fun. But even with a KOA membership, it's roughly $10-$20/night more than my nearby comparators (Holly's Groveland Oaks and Frankenmuth's Jellystone), and I don't think we got $20/night more enjoyment than those places.

There are no words to express how amazing our experience was. Immediately from the time arrival, we…read morewere provided with a warm welcome from Larry, one of the campground employees. He went with us to the parking location he secured for us, guided us into the spot safety and stayed to make sure we were good to show and showed us where everything was at the campground. He came back to check on us periodically while we were getting settled as well incase we needed anything. The next morning, the employees drove around the park to say good morning to everyone, which was very sweet. As we were getting ready to check out, our RV started to have some issues and Larry went above and beyond to help us out to get us on the road. Him and his family brought us fluids and supplies for the vehicle and stayed with us to make sure we were okay during the stressful process of figuring out the issues. He didn't charge us a dime for anything, which I thought was very kind. Larry even cleared traffic for us so we could get our RV and camper out safely, which is something no other place has ever done for us. In addition, the facilities such as the shower/restroom areas were some of the best I have seen yet. Very clean, nicely decorated, smelled great and comfortable to use, which is rare. I would definitely recommend camping here! By far the best one we have stayed at on our cross country trip!

We needed some snacks and drinks and found the office/store well equipped for backpackers. The campground has wifi and good reception all over. The showers look like they're brand new. Super clean! Best of all, we interacted with the owners several times over the weekend - super nice people. They helped us out with all sorts of things we had forgotten.

It's a nice little campground with a small pond for kids, a playground, and hayride. I've stayed at many private campgrounds in the area with some seasonal lots, but this is the first campground where EVERYONE was friendly - seasonal, weekenders, employees, etc. The washrooms, although dated, were kept very clean. I didn't feel freaked out by spiders in the rafters, excessive dirt in the showers etc (although I kept my flip flops on as I always do in a public shower). I didn't visit the camped store or the game room so I can't comment on them. My husband and I did think that something should be done to decrease the mosquito population. The only negative is the size of the campsites. Some are very slender and you feel as if you can touch the neighbors on both sides. Overall, it was a good experience, friendly and felt as if we drove for hours up north, instead of 30 minutes west of home. We will be camping there again over Labor Day weekend.

CONS Staff not friendly to transient (non-seasonal) campers. Rejected my Amazon package. This demonstrated lack of respect for campers. My package was labeled per the manager's instructions, but was rejected upon delivery. HUGH potholes in gravel entrance road almost wrecked the undercarriage of my rig. Ugly algae in pond. Mostly seasonal campers.
