The inn was beautifully and thoughtfully restored by Katie who owns and runs the inn and has a degree in architecture. Katie is wonderful host and cook. She met us on our late arrival (winter storm). Katie was exceptionally thoughtful and accommodating. We had wonderful homemade baked bread and overnight oats for our first breakfast. She built a fire and hosted our in-laws for tea the next morning. The rooms are very comfortable and up to date. We will absolutely stay here again when we return to Maumee. Thank you Katie!

This house was lovingly restored and updated with so many quaint touches that you can't possibly take them all in. Our host couldn't have been more charming and somehow managed to both give us privacy and be there when we had questions or wanted a chat. Her culinary background shines through in her beautiful breakfast dishes and surprise cookies and cinnamon rolls (if you are lucky). The area was perfect for nature walks and our host had the perfect recommendations for food and drink nearby. Highly recommended for the wonderful stay, lovely company and spot on advice for making the most of our time.

Notes: Bring your own hair dryer and bath toiletries. They are not provided. If you're a light sleeper or late sleeper, you'll hear the early morning prep from the coffee shop downstairs. The building is circa late 19th or early 20th century - - not sound proof. Consider part of the historic charm. We did. Sundays aren't an issue the coffee shop is closed.

Tecumseh absolutely charmed us, and part of the charm lay in this very nice little place (and I mean little, one apt. only available, while we were there) above the local coffee shop, owned by the same people as the coffee shop. So, locally owned, and getting in touch to book rooms has you calling the coffee shop, so don't be confused! Anyway, the price was very reasonable, and the loft was quaint, an efficiency apt with a living room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. Clean and comfortable, located on the main street and up a flight of stairs (they have one other place, a larger apt. with several bedrooms). We walked to dinner at Evans Street Station, and to the little shops up and down the strip during the afternoon. Tecumseh's quiet--if you want clubs, bars and a roulette wheel, this is not the spot for you--but if you're into the small town, quiet-getaway- experience, I highly recommend this inn. The breakfast is a $10 gift card for the full service coffee shop downstairs, which for two people can be tight, but you can use it the day before, and put your bagels and coffee in the apt. fridge, which is what we did (see caveat), or you can use the morning of, if they're open (Caveat: the coffee shop wasn't open on the Sunday we were there, and may not be open on Sundays period. Pick out breakfast foods in advance for Saturday night stays).

The neighborhood was very nice, we all felt safe and okay with parking our cars in the street. The bedrooms were very spacious and fit 10 of us comfortably. They had an extra mattress for us to use as well which was convenient. The breakfast was great, we had lots of fruit, pancakes, bacon and eggs. There was a whole pantry of food we were able to eat at our convenience and an open fridge. Sam was the most gracious host, giving us a full tour of the house when we arrived. She was such a delight and so sweet! She made our beds and tidied up our rooms while we were away all day Saturday for our tournament play. It was great to come home to. I cant say enough good things about her, the sweetest girl! There was also a huge theater upstairs which we didn't get a chance to use but it would be great for a large group to enjoy. It was too cold for us to use the pool, but I would love to come back and stay in the summertime to be able to use the pool and patio as well. I would highly recommend this home and the fabulous owners!

They are attentive, caring hosts who provide a warm, comfortable, and elegant living space. They cared not only of the quality of our stay in their bed & breakfast, but also of our stay in their beloved hometown of Toledo, OH. For breakfast they provided an excellent spread of perfectly cooked eggs, bacon, pancakes, house made sweet rolls, fresh fruit salad, orange slices, with a selection of juice and ice water on fine china in the formal dining room, all the while providing a comfortable relaxed family atmosphere. The rooms are clean, the bed was plush, and the water pressure in the shower was excellent and we did not run out of hot water. The house was built in 1896, and is decorated to match its antiquity. The rooms are priced fairly. We would gladly stay at the Scottwood Inn again.
