We spent just one day in this park and that was enough. I brought my sons and a few of their friends for their Senior Trip to experience Cedar Point and we decided to break up our two park days with a day at Shores. The life guards were very attentive. We got the upgraded Deluxe Cabana and it turned out to be a great idea when an impromptu rainstorm rolled in. It included some really nice, embroidered towels as souvenirs. The food choices were sparse and exorbitantly expensive, just like inside Cedar Point, but getting the food pass at Shores would limit you mostly to pizza, Cuban sandwich, and a taco. Several of the slides were out of commission which is really the reason for the 3/5 score here. read more

Lost 1 star cause parking was full and we had to wait an hour for the shuttle. They had 1 small bus #722 running back and forth. Lost another star cause it's cashless....I bring cash on vacation so we don't overspend and so servers don't get their tips taxed. We were luckier than most people reading other reviews, all the rides were open. Also disappointed they didn't stay open longer on the 4th so you could enjoy fireworks from the wave pool. Would have been nice. Lost the 3rd star cause when they closed we were told it would be faster to walk all the way through Cedar point to get to the car. Prices!! Parking is in sane at $40. Lazy River was all we got out of it. Some rides closed. Smelled like urine in some areas of the water park. We only did the water park. We drove an hour to get there and when we got there we got in line then they closed for a lighting warning, we waited around 2 hours then they opened again, we rode 3 rides then they closed again, on one of the rides they were very understaffed and we could only ride one of the slides on that ride, we paid $350 to ride 3 rides and we were there for 4 hours. They were also cashless, the lockers were $30 for a jumbo one so it took around $400 dollars to ride 3 rides in 4 hours. read more

When I tell you, do not go there, I mean it. The amusement park itself is amazing, but the waterpark is a disaster. I took my niece and nephew and half of the rides were closed. Maybe more than half. The rides that were open had well over an hour wait at every slide. They told us they were incredibly short staffed but maybe they should've sold fewer tickets to accommodate. The wait to get into the lazy river was an hour. We paid an offensive amount of money for chicken fingers and fries, and they were out of any type of condiment. We were there for the full day and my nephew got on three slides. That's all. It's just so clear they don't care about giving a good experience anymore. It's a money grab. Brought the wife and kids up from Florida for a few days at Cedar Point. Visited Cedar Point Shores on our last day and what a thorough disappointment. Three of the largest water slide attractions (as well as others) were closed down. Wild Walleye,Perch Plunge, Cedar Creek & Crosscurrent. Everyone was packed into what attractions were open. Hour long waits on a non congested Friday afternoon on the second day of June. They had all winter to get the park ready. Either they don't care about customer service or they are inept. We decided to try the waterpark over the regular amusement park and I would never do that again. It's been a long time since I've been to a waterpark, but even I know they could do better. There was trash all over the place, the lifeguards didn't even really seem to pay attention to what was going on, and items seemed very overpriced. The chairs looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a while, and thank goodness I needed to use the first aid station for changing since I have an older child who doesn't fit on the infant changing stations. I did not even want to peek my head to see what the bathroom and changing areas looked like based on the rest of the waterpark. You can rent lockers, but you have to use a credit card. They won't accept Apple Pay or cash. Drinks come without straws or lids and condiments are lacking for the food items that they have. I have heard that the slides are down quite a bit of the time. Luckily on the day that we chose to go, everything was open. The slides were fine, but that to me doesn't make up for the rest of the waterpark. This is somewhere that I would not go again, and I would not recommend that other people go. read more

I basically wasted money going here as my teenage daughter was ready to leave when we finally got to the entrance. We went around the lazy river twice and it was very dirty. Dirt leaves and grime on bottom shows the filters weren't working well or at all. Three slides were shut down and we rode one each in another area. I wasn't allowed to wear my waterproof neckwear that held my debit card and ID so I hid it in my towel praying no one would steal our stuff. It was $20 for a locker and we weren't staying. We visited on a low crowd day. Rides are meh. Many slides never opened. One slide closed while in line because they said it seemed unsafe (so they closed the other two by it too). Food prices unreasonably high ($53.00 for 6 slices of pizza). Lazy river had better waves than wave pool. Rides poorly run with no care of customer experience (excessively long wait times between rides (long after first person completed ride and completely exited pool). only 3 rafts going for the multi person slide - took an hour what looked like a short line. Bathroom lines long (don't you want to encourage people to use them). Just go to the beach - this is a huge waste of money. read more

I am a gold pass holder and go to the amusement park often, this was my first visit to the waterpark, I took an 11 year old boy I nanny for the afternoon. I'd like to preface that we started our day on the millennium force and I have been on many many waterslides prior to this experience, I'm all about a thrilling ride. We went over to the shores at about 2pm, as it was a 90° day- they were busy!! Were used to a crowd and a wait so we did not mind, we got in line to ride storm surge first, a line we waited about an hour in, then the conveyer belt for the rafts stopped working which prolonged our wait by 30mins, again we don't mind waiting so this was no problem!!! While waiting we had started chatting with an older couple in front of us, who were very nice, due to how long everyone in line had been waiting, groups of 2 were combining to be groups of 4 as the life raft can accommodate up to 4 people, 1,000lbs. We paired up with the couple we met in line, who individually were between 150-200lbs, while my child and self are between 75-100lbs each. There was no direction on weight distribution or how to be seated on the raft. we were quickly ushered on raft with the couple seated next to each other on one side and my child and self on the other. The lifeguard was unable to push the raft down herself and exclaimed "FUCK you're going to have to scoot!!!" to the couple who did in fact begin scooting. I was put off at the language used but that left my brain as soon as we started descending because at every turn, I was being thrust into the air, gripping on for dear life. We were holding on to the handles the entire time and if we did not, we would have fallen off. The raft was bending in half due to our weight hanging, causing us to be body slamming the poor old people we came down with. Once we hit the water the raft sank them into the water and they spent the next few minutes making sure that we were okay, whereas the lifeguards at the bottom seemed annoyed we were struggling to get up. We immediately left after that and will not return. We love love love cedar point and really wanted to love the shores too but the lack of safety concern is going to be a no go for me. If I had any other younger child with me, I feel there would be more injuries than some sore arms and a scare. read more

Love, love, LOVE Cedar Point Shores but there are a couple of things that keep it from being 5 stars. We came here almost every day a couple of summers ago with our season pass (the early admission was a HUGE perk). The pools are amazing but get very, very crowded at times. There aren't nearly enough of the shorter chairs to sit at the water's edge in - you need to either get in with early admission or at "rope drop" to get one or else they'll all be claimed within minutes (no exaggeration). Food prices are high but you get that with any park. There are a couple of food stalls that are hit or miss whether they're open or closed on any given day. read more

I have only been to 3 water parks in my life (here, Kalahari, and Kings Island) this one seems to be about the same as the rest. People on here complaining about mayflys crack me up. You are on Lake Erie! The park itself, like I said is average. Pros /We spent about 5 hours there and did not get bored. I didn't come across a single band-aid. Cons/ If you're not going to let ppl wear aqua socks then I think the steps could use a power wash. They were funky. All the lazy rivers and the wave pool could use about a foot more water. The bottoms of my feet look like I took a cheese grater to them from being dragged on the floors of the pools. And seriously I am all for safety but that family inner tube ride process needs to be sped up. We get in "free" with our passes. @ $40 A person I probably would not spend the money to come here if it wasn't included. It is always crowded and I am not into it. IF I WERE To spend money on a crowded water park I would go to Kalahari because you at least get a hotel room with the deal.... But I wouldn't pay for that either If you have money to burn and water parks are your thing then you'll probably have an alright time. read more

The wave pool was closed, two water slides, and another child area... so around half the park was closed but yet they don't tell you any of this or offer a refund in addition to that there is a 20 minute wait at the bathrooms... Atleast the water slides were over 45 minute wait. And also the water park is only open from 11 to 6. Did I mention there isn't another pool to swim in? The lazy river was packed with people.. you have to literally push your way to the front and snatch tubes from people that are getting off before someone else waiting grabs it first. And after all that there are still tons of kids jumping around and waterfalls etc so not very lazy. After going around once I got off since I kept getting sprayed with water and was now cold. The shores is way too small for a park like cedar point. It got overrun very easily and it wasn't even a very nice day out, I can only imagine how packed they let it get on a hot sunny summer day. Complete waste of money, you are better off going to the beach to cool off! Here's are the keys to enjoying Soak City: 1) You may think you want to spend the whole day there, but trust me, 2-3 hours = more than enough. This is why we got the Starlight passes they offer after 4PM. For three people it was still around $60, but that's a hell-a-lot better than $100. Besides, when you have the high afternoon sun beating down on you all day and screaming/crying children surrounding you, 2-3 will make you want to hurl a toddler across the park. Oh, and even the lockers are way cheaper after 5PM. 2) Bring your own food in a cooler, keep it in your car. The parking lot is right next to Soak City and the food/drink at the park are outrageously priced. And honestly, everywhere you look you'll see another way the park is trying to make money. 3) Be prepared to see a lot of tribal tattoos. 4) Stay hydrated and apply lots of sunscreen. I think that's it. Keep all that in mind and you'll have a pretty decent time. Well, your kids will, at least--and that's really the whole point, isn't it? read more

Definitely a fun place to take children and adults. The only thing that really ticked me off are the mass amounts of may flies. Some people may not care, but these flies are stuck to anything and everything. Thousands of them. Hundreds of thousands of them. Big swarms of hundreds of may flies are floating around in the lazy river. I had to keep my butt from touching the water because I didn't want dead flies stuck to my back. Cedar point can't really help the big problem but I feel like the filters should be a little more efficient. They're also stuck on the ground so as you're walking barefoot around the park, you're squishing around fly guts. Although this park has some fun attractions, my hate for dead bugs everywhere is making me never want to come back. read more

A nice place to give you a break from the hustle of Cedar Point. I've been to Soak City 3 times this summer so far on a platinum pass. It's clean for the most part, patrons and employees courteous and everything seems in good repair. The wave pool is fun if a tisch on the small side. Plenty of lifeguards to go around. Food is easy to purchase - check out the grilled chicken sandwich. A nice surf/souvenir shop offers towel, board shorts, sunglasses cover-ups, sandals/flip flops, sunscreen and other needs. During our visit to Cedar Point Shores, half (and that's not over exaggerating either) of the slides and restaurants were closed. In fact, only one place was open for dining. We went to the information desk to ask about getting a partial refund or at least transfer our tickets to the amusement park. The girl working the information booth told us we'd have to check with the customer service desk but to let her know what was said. The supervisor at customer service told us they could get us half off the gate price of the amusement side and that was all they could do. That didn't help us at all considering online tickets are $50 while gate price is $80. So I'd have to pay a total of $90 for tickets to a park that costs $50 online. Fortunately the girl at the information booth was kind enough to give us all day dining passes which makes up for the cost of half of admission price. This is what should have been offered by the supervisor if the park really cared about it's customers. I understand that staff is sometimes shorthanded, but the park should be ready and willing to compensate customers for not providing an entire half of the services promised when selling the tickets. My family and I will not be returning in the near future. read more

Cabana area was nice at least staff and waitress were attentive and pleasant, lines were really long and it was a Sunday so park closed at 6pm so unless you want to stand in the hot sun and wait 45 mins plus just to wait your turn for a deflated inter tube just to ride one of the slides is a joke! There are however not enough restrooms in the park at all! the cabana area should have it's own restrooms instead of two family changing rooms instead of regular bathroom stalls, outside the wave pool, honestly the line for all the restrooms was ridiculous, the swim up bar/pool was gross the water is practically yellow there are so many people just sitting in piss water drinking. The pizza was 28. A pepperoni pizza! so food prices and drink prices are also ridiculous! At 45. To get in the water park itself just to wait 10 mins inline for the bathroom means between the lines at the slides and restrooms it's honestly not worth the 40.+ to get in this place parking is also a joke payed for preferred park only to find the water park didn't have preferred parking only cedar point has it but they let me pay for it online and no where stated cedar point only has preferred parking so another 25. It's a water park that gets crowded, so if you don't mind mostly naked bodies close to you when it's hot... then you will enjoy it here. It's Cedar Point's water park, it has its own admission, but if you have a platinum pass it is included. There are exciting plunging slides, 2 lazy rivers, free swim, wave pool and slides for the family and more advanced swimmers. The life guards are everywhere and on task. There are many restrooms and changing rooms with showers. There are lockers with a fee, but I have never used them and our stuff is safe. The food is pricey, so I bring in food. I pack a soft cooler for things like salsa, veggie sticks, hummus or sandwiches and a bag with pita or tortilla chips... nothing crazy. I have the drink pass on my platinum pass, which makes drinks easy and I do not have to pack. They will inspect your bags at the entrance. I do not rent a cabana, expensive. I arrive early to set up camp. My favorite spot is towards the back by the lazy river in a kiddie area. It's laid back there and not super crazy. Although I miss the train too. Lots of new stuff this summer. Come check it out. We were in the water park on 7/9. The food prices were outrageous! $13 at subway for a 6 inch sub and a bag of chips! Then and the true reason for the review... the changing rooms are at the far ends of the water park, not near the entrance. Additionally, they are no where close to big enough to accommodate the many guests. The one we used only had 4 changing rooms total. This is the one that offers showers. The showers had nasty standing water in the bottom. Then someone overflowed the toilet and the drains were all backed up and bubbling up out of the floor. Raw sewage started covering the floor. With sandals on the water was deep enough to get the disgusting water on my feet. Life guards had went in to use the restroom, saw what was happening, used the toilets and left. Finally, staff came in and closed the bathroom/changing room. Long after many guests (some barefoot) had been subjected to the filthy, unhygienic conditions. read more

The water does not look the cleanest. The staff is clearly not trained very well! The make Irish bartender in the adult pool bar was an absolute joke! And should not be bar tending...... The lazy river was not so lazy!!! I'm used to faster Rapids with less splashing... You couldn't really relax because you had to keep checking to make sure you weren't headed for a water fall... The pool itself was very shallow that just flipping off your tube could cause abrasions to your skin from the rough floor.... The alcohol was 11.00 for a small can... Not my style. To be honest I would return to Cedar point but I have no desire to return to their water park... It needs to be revamped and rebuilt!!! We had the two day ride and slide passes, thankfully. We spent twenty minutes at Soak City and went straight back to Cedar Point. Lazy river-closed Renegade river- closed 3 major water slides- closed Cafe-closed What gives? I know we went early in the season but for the money you pay I expected more. At least a notice that most attractions were closed. Also, we were told that we MUST get a locker. Even the smallest of lockers were $10, and not big enough for a family of 3. The lifeguards did seem to take there jobs very serious and looked astute, not just standing around talking to each other like a lot of other waterparks. The park did seem very clean also. Having gone over ten years without visiting Soak City, I was excited that on our trip to Cedar Point we'd be able to check it out. I didn't remember much about it except that I liked it. However, I was probably around 12 which means everything seems better than it actually is. The park needs something. It actually needs a lot. They have four areas for children, yet one adult pool that was overcrowded and less-than-stellar slides that were the shortest for any water park I've ever visited. On average we waited around 20 minutes to go down a slide for 15 seconds. My suggestion is to get rid of one of the kid areas and put a decent thrilling water slide up for the older guests. The park was clean for the most part. The only time I felt it was a little gross was waiting for the slides on the stairs as water dripped on your head. They also could use a pressure washer to get rid of the green scum that was growing due to the water. The bathroom was a little nasty as well, but I what water park/pool bathroom isn't. One thing I will compliment on is the fact that the water was warm. Also, the lazy river with the obstacles was pretty fun as well! Good thing is we have platinum passes so we didn't have to pay the $30-something dollars to go. We probably spent about three hours here and road on half of the slides. Not only did we just not feel like waiting in the lines in the hot sun, but they didn't even look like they were worth waiting for. I don't think we'd visit here again unless we get the platinum passes again and we were planning on staying for more than a day. This is our first and last time at this park, the employees were rude and were too busy dancing with their height sticks to the songs and socializing with each other to even care about the parks cleanliness. The all day eat pass is available only at the restaurant where we had multiple places to use it at Cedar Point. There are bugs, bloody band aids, bird droppings & other trash around the park, especially around the wave pool. Maybe this park should do what an experienced & profitable water park in Florida does & clean the park as well as spray down the chairs and recliners before they open. My husband was made fun of by a couple of employees because he complained about the conditions of the park. We spent a lot of money for 3 tickets as well as all day drink & all day eat passes and we were SERIOUSLY robbed. We will not be back and we will advise anyone/everyone to avoid this water park, go to Orlando instead. read more
