The section of the park that was completely shut down and pictures of how huge size of the empty rides/attractions.

Brought the wife and kids up from Florida for a few days at Cedar Point. Visited Cedar Point Shores on our last day and what a thorough disappointment. Three of the largest water slide attractions (as well as others) were closed down. Wild Walleye,Perch Plunge, Cedar Creek & Crosscurrent. Everyone was packed into what attractions were open. Hour long waits on a non congested Friday afternoon on the second day of June. They had all winter to get the park ready. Either they don't care about customer service or they are inept. It was a complete waste of time and money. I could have enjoyed the Hotel Breaks more and saved the $200+

Lazy River after the things started opening back up after waiting out the thunderstorms! No lines! :)

It was great! It rained! There wasn't a lot of people because of the thunderstorms! We had a ball of a time! Would definitely go again if it rains to beat the crowd!

Go to Cedar Point Beach instead.

I feel like once you go on water rides at other parks, this one is no longer a big deal. I hear it will be closing soon. Not sure if this is true or if they will replace it with another water ride. But if it closes, hope another wet ride goes in it's place.

(They warn you in the station you'll get completely soaked in case you're daft enough not to notice this with your two eyes.) Snake River Falls is short and sweet and just what the doctor ordered on a blazing hot summer day. It's kind of hard to screw up a log flume ride, unless of course you're Intamin. (Oooo, too soon?) There's also an observation bridge where you can just about as wet as if you actually rode the ride. And if you wanna air dry off a bit Skyhawk is a few steps away. Or you can spend $5 to stand in an air drying booth to undo what you just did. A curious waste of money to me unless you feel a strong hankering to ride Snake River Falls on a day that's just not hot enough to ride Snake River Falls. Well, that wraps up my Cedar Point series. Hopefully, that wasn't my last trip to the Point and at some point I will be back on Yelp reviewing future thrills as yet unseen.

We arrived around 1:30 PM and were pleasantly surprised that our room was already ready -- such a relief after traveling, especially with kids. However, the new luggage carts are definitely a downgrade. They barely hold anything, and if you have more than just a couple of bags, it turns into a hassle. Really hoping they switch back to the old style. The waterpark itself is always a blast, but I do wish the hours were longer. Closing at 8 PM on weeknights feels early when you're on vacation and trying to fit everything in. Same for the sweet treat shop -- we felt rushed trying to get from the waterpark to the room, get dressed, and then make it down to the arcade and grab treats all within about 45 minutes. We chose the Stay & Play package mainly for the arcade credit ($100 each night), but we didn't realize that when you use the package credits, the games don't give you tickets. That was disappointing, especially with kids who love winning prizes. On the positive side, the kids absolutely loved the Build-a-Bear experience. It was pricey at about $100 for two bears, but it is vacation, and they had so much fun that it was worth it. I also really liked the new charging wristbands -- super convenient and nice not having to carry a card around all day. As for comfort, the waterpark air could've been warmer. I remember it feeling much more comfortable in past visits, but this time I felt cold almost the whole time. The hallways were especially chilly. Food-wise, the Pizza Pub was fantastic. We had it delivered right to our room, and both the pizza and the chicken chunks were delicious -- honestly one of our favorite meals of the trip. Overall, even with a few hiccups, we had a fun stay and would visit again. Kalahari still delivers a great family getaway, just with a few things I hope they adjust back to how they used to be.

We contacted resort staff three separate times with serious concerns during our stay and saw no action taken--only empty apologies. That lack of response was extremely frustrating and made it feel like guest experience was not a priority. Going back to the room for a break didn't help. Our room faced a solid wall, did not have a fireplace as advertised, and we dealt with constant loud door slamming and wall pounding from nearby cleaning staff. It was not relaxing and made it difficult to rest. The conditions in the waterpark were also unacceptable. The lines for the water slides smelled strongly of urine, as if people were urinating while standing in line, which was extremely unpleasant and unhygienic. The wave pool was especially concerning. Chunks of concrete were breaking off the bottom of the pool, and I cut my foot on one of these pieces, about the size of a penny. There was concrete grit throughout the water, which was very unsafe - I gave chunks to the staff to emphasize my concerns. On top of all of this, everything was freezing cold. The wave pool water was freezing, the slide water was freezing, and the hot tubs were not hot at all despite hour-long wait lines with 40+ people. Even the indoor temperature felt cold. For the cost of this stay, none of this was acceptable. Overall, this experience was not worth what we paid and fell far below expectations.

( I bring a black light flash light when I travel to check rooms for any biological material before I unpack anything) .... Now it's November 2025.. we stayed overnight only.. my autistic son absolutely Loves the characters.. Violet especially! When we left last time he cried 2 days straight missing the " wolf pack " characters in costume. So this visit I asked the staff if at all possible Violet could make an appearance while we were there.. and Sammy the squirrel since we didn't get the chance to meet her our first stay . The staff was AWESOME! Sunday morning made my sons WORLD when he met Sammy squirrel for the first time! And he saw violet again too! He brought her a gift from Pittsburgh as well! Thank you SO much for making my sons year! My only gripe was on Saturday evening during story time my son wanted so bad to be picked to physically participate in story time and the girls only chose smaller children to participate even though my son who is 13 special needs was standing and waving his hands begging to be called.. yes we received a lot of weird stares from parents wondering why this big child was so excited about great wolf.. but I feel I shouldn't have to advertise to the WORLD that my son is 13... on the spectrum and loves great wolf!!! Sometimes I feel they only market to children 10 and under... and I am in NO hurry for my child to grow up.. if he still loves the great wolf costume characters when he is 20 SO BE IT! Maybe keep an open mind to ALL children... even if they look older.. because autism doesn't have a " look" ... and my son was sad that he couldn't play a part in story time.. he has been watching great wolf stuff on YouTube all year.. and drawing all of the characters all year too anxiously awaiting returning this weekend.. as a mom that's what I work hard for .. my money goes towards my sons joy.. and considering all of the other water parks around Sandusky I could always give my $ to another place... hope this doesn't sound too harsh.. but I leave honest reviews..

The longest wait was to get into the parking lot, despite signs saying they were at capacity with the exception of online tickets. Everything was magnificent! They have lifejackets available. Bring your own chairs if you want a place to put your stuff and all the lawn chairs are taken. They have tubes to use for the wave pool and lazy River. Outside food is not allowed but I would recommend finding a way to bring it in because I would have purchased meals for my family at the concession stand but there were long lines all day and once it finally died down I realized why... they ran out of all the food-food (they still had bags of chips). If you're not going to allow outside food, you need to be able to accommodate guests! Yes, they allow you to leave and come back same-day but do I really want to get in my hot car where my skin sticks to the seats, while wearing a wet bathing suit just to find the closest fast food? No, not really. I would rather pack sandwiches and leave in the car or whatever. Plenty of people brought grills to set up outside the gates, so I would consider that in the future. There are so many awesome things about this place, that I look forward to returning next year!

The friend we were meeting is a local so she was able to get a reservation for the 11am-1pm time slot, which is apparently reserved for locals. It wasn't too crowded and was the perfect activity for a very hot summer day. My 6 year old was a bit fearful of the giant bucket of water that pours on your head at first, although by the end of the 2 hours he was standing under it welcoming it. My 9 year old and his friend jumped right in and couldn't get enough of all the slides and water fun. They were probably some of the older kids there, but still young enough to enjoy the fun. There's also a more babyish area to the side for younger kids who aren't into the slides and giant bucket. They also get 5 stars for cleanliness, including the bathrooms and changing rooms. I had to show out my coffee when we arrived since no food or drink is allowed inside the gate, but that's probably how they manage to keep it so clean. There are sections that lends to smaller kiddos, but truly, the whole pad is appropriate and entertaing enough for toddlers to tweens. Even the adults were enjoying themselves. The addition of water slides makes this splash pad the best in the area for older kids. There are changing areas, restrooms, several tables and benches in the shade for parents. Today, it is 93 degrees in the sun and I am really comfortable under the shade of a table. The time limit per session is 2 hours, which is really perfect.
