This place is amazing from the second you walk in the doors. You're greeted with free wolf ears so you and your family can transform into a Wolfpack for your stay. The customer service everywhere was amazing. The rooms were spacious. The food was excellent. Everywhere was very clean. Great value. In 2023 my in-laws took my 14 yr old daughter and younger son to this location on spring break. A 19 yr old employee working at the rock wall approached my daughter complimenting her and trying to build a connection throughout their interactions. He eventually asked for her contact info. When he got off shift he convinced her to meet him in the parking lot at the lodge and did unspeakable things to her and completely took her innocence. This went on throughout the week. My daughter did not tell us about this. We saw a huge decline in her mood, school and behavior when she returned home. We finally got it out of her and were devastated. We immediately took her in to get tested then went to the police. Apparently he had just been caught stealing from the job and was able to keep his job but got arrested and admitted to everything in our case. We filed a lawsuit against the lodge. They declined and denied any responsibility. They completely dismissed this and disregarded everything that happened. Do not bring your small children here. I would never recommend this place to anyone. They had everything on security cameras and even walked past security multiple times. This is not something we took lightly and will let everyone know about this experience. read more

We had a great time spending a weekend here. Tons to do for the family and there was never a dull moment. They had enough food choices we never had to leave and plenty of adult beverages as well. First time visiting this location. We are very familiar with Great Wolf Lodge as we have visited the grapevine location at least a dozen times. While this location has the addition of the adventure park when grapevine does not, the grapevine water park is much better. This location seems to have a lot of unused areas both inside and around the outside pool that so many additional attractions could have been added or enlarged. This location does not have any true thrill rides like grapevine has. read more

Our first time here and we will definitely be going back. I will say this place is a bit pricey when it come to the food. We ordered pizza and had it delivered the 2nd night because we ate lunch there and it was almost $15-$20 per person, even for kids... and that added up quickly. You can opt (for an extra few) to have Wiley the Wolf bring cookies and milk to your room before your child goes to sleep. There is an indoor and outdoor pool and a sections for the kids to play in at the water park. Life vests are provided. There is a Build A Bear on sight with and you can choose the character from the Lodge. There is also an arcade, miniature golf and some type of wizard activity. They have story time with the characters and a dance party. All in all a great getaway spot! read more

This is the second Great Wolf Lodge that my family has stayed at and we love it! Being more new than some of the other ones, this GWL is SUPER clean & all the amenities are super fun & awesome. My kids thoroughly enjoyed our 2 day stay & were bummed we had to leave. Our biggest enjoyed all the water slides, our middle child enjoyed the kiddie pool (& it's slides) & our littlest really loved the wave pool. I really like that the hot tub is outside (I just think hot tubs are more enjoyable outdoors). Re: the staff - the staff were extremely, extremely friendly & hospitable. Everyone was helping in the hotel & activity areas & the lifeguards kept things very professional. We were so excited to celebrate my daughters birthday at Great Wolf Lodge in La Grange. The check in was cool, they made a big deal of my daughters birthday which was nice! Other than that, don't have a lot of positives. The water park was pretty fun but small, and the other activities are pretty limited as well. For the price of the resort, you would expect a little more. It's such a cool concept. While riding the rides, the staff was super inconsistent enforcing the height rules on the rides. Lockers are available but $15 minimum! You would think for what you pay to stay there, they could include a locker. I can understand charging for the people that just come for the day. Food service at the water park was super slow, over 30min for 2 burgers. They had drinks on display that they did not have in stock (shouldn't be super hard to pull those off display when you run out). They seemed well under staffed at the food places, you had cashiers jumping from the water park side to the hotel side to take orders. And not the friendliest or most motivated staff. At Ben & Jerry's and Dunkin, limited items available (several ice cream flavors and could only get small hot coffees because they didn't have lids). The gift shop is very underwhelming. Overall just not super impressed with the quality of the "resorts for what they charge you. Here's the best part! I had 3 charges on my card at check out (was only expecting 2 - the initial charge at time of reservation and then the remainder at check out). I assumed one would fall off but it ended up not so I called about it, and whoever was helping me could have cared less! She initially didn't see one of the charges, then after researching she explained one and I asked what this other one was and she responds "if you give me a second, I'm about to explain it." She then proceeds to tell me she refunded the charge but it was for towels not returned at the water park. She said all towels must be scanned back in and can't be left in your hotel room. I explained to her that I asked about the towels and was told I could take them to my room as long as I left them in there. I also explained I was never informed of an additional charge for towels. She said she refunded the amount and did I need anything else. Super rude, super condescending, not good customer focused service at all! I explained to her that the price in which they charge is already a bit ridiculous and the fact they just take liberties to charge whatever they want without informing the guest is absurd. She continued to care less and just told me she refunded the money and wasn't going to argue. When I asked what her name was, she hung up on me. I then called back to and asked to speak with a supervisor or manager to share my experience and was put on hold to only then be told nobody was available and I could email their guest relations department. I then asked for the GM name of the resort and was told I could t have that info and needed to email cues relations. They clearly get an overwhelming amount of negative feedback and complaints which is why they have it set up like this and no way to get in contact at with anyone with authority and show absolutely no care for their customers. I can probably get past the overpriced mediocre resort, to make memories with my family (and my daughters did have a blast), but the poor quality and the (lack of) service and care for customers is ridiculous, and I will not ever spend another penny with this brand. The water park is so much fun for the kids and they have something for all ages. The lifeguards are on it and really take their job seriously which I appreciate. We were able to check-in our room at 1pm so that was awesome! We have been going here for the past four years. The prices have gotten ridiculous! We can travel internationally at all inclusive for these prices and have fun for the entire family and food that actually tastes decent. You'll pay $25 for a sponge tasting pizza. My recommendation is order delivery and/or eat off resort. Good luck finding sanitizer anywhere or clean seats to sit at. There's no social distancing put in place whatsoever and everything was at over capacity with super long lines even waiting to do the magi quest. After almost $500 a night for a room and you can't even find a chair to sit your stuff down but wait for $500 more you can rent a cabana with four chairs and a TV but no drink/food service. You still have to walk up and get your $11 half frozen drink. All in all, the kids have fun, the wolf ears are cute but at these costs, we can go travel somewhere much cooler, with a lot more activities throughout the day and all inclusive food/drink for the same/cheaper price! read more

Service - I was impressed by the service from start to finish - attentive lifeguards, pleasant servers, generally helpful staff all over the place. It seemed like the staff really enjoy their jobs and were committed to giving us the best experience possible. We especially appreciated the clear communication and encouragement from the young man who helped our daughter at the ropes course. Entertainment - The waterpark was a blast, perfect for a 2 day trip. We also had fun at the ropes course and mini golf. The kid-sized bowling alley was awesome for our younger daughter who is too small for a full-length lane. We did not use the climbing wall or the Magiquest, but it looked like others were having a great experience. Food / Drinks - We ate meals at Buckets, Timbers, and Hungry as a Wolf. Plenty of variety of kid staples. Perfectly satisfactory. We also got snacks at the market, the candy store, and Dunkin Donuts. We tried to get a reservation at Barnwood one night but there was nothing available until too late in the evening, so you should reserve ahead of time if you can. We also chose to eat breakfast at Dunkin Donuts because the line for the buffet was so long both mornings we went. Cost - We stayed for three days. It's expensive when you add everything together - room, food, entertainment. But it's a better deal than other theme parks or similar opportunities. The wristbands were convenient so we could charge things to the room without worrying about carrying wallets around. I appreciated the detailed "transaction history" that was shared at the end of our stay so I could see each individual charge (e.g. a beer here, a snack there, a round of mini golf, etc.) read more

Overall, this is a perfect place to go during the fall and winter. The indoor water park is relatively small but there is an outdoor pool that isn't more than 3ft and a jacuzzi area. There is also a mini playground. There are weekly activities for the kids including story time, pictures with the characters from the great wolf pack and yoga. There are about 3 dining options including barnwood, pizza and hamburger joint as well. Everything is extremely overpriced. For instance, for 2 adults and my toddler, it was around $80 at barnwood. Positives: everyone was super friendly, great customer service and super clean. Plus my kid had a blast in the toddler section of the indoor water park. Negatives: everything is ridiculously over priced, small water park and limited eating options within the lodge. Room reservations can be expensive but they have great promo codes and we went during the week. We left on a Saturday and honestly thank goodness for that. Wayyy too many people for such a small water park during the weekend. Overall, we do plan on coming back but we'll be smarter. During the week reservations and eating out not at the lodge. This is a great getaway that was not far away. We were able to get an online discount, so look out for those. 2 adults 4 children for $400 bux. If you want to get the bang for your buck, make sure you find out when you can go to the park on the day of check in and check out. The rooms were nice and clean. We had a great view out of our window. The reason there is not a 5-star rating from me is I would like the food to be slighty more reasonably priced inside the park. I honestly hate to make a post like this because we had super high hopes, but we were really disappointed. It was fun for the first few hours until it just became monotonous with only a handful of things to do. Would not recommend staying any longer than just the weekend, if that long. It was very overcrowded and overpriced for what they offer. The room was musty smelling and the floor felt wet the whole time we were there. Don't even get me started on the Magi quest. My 6 year old quickly lost interest and my parents and I spent hours finishing it for him all for him to get a piece of paper with his name on it. Seeing as you have to pay for the wand to even play and then spend HOURS to finish it, I would think they'd offer a little more than that. All of that wasn't even worth complaining about, though. What made me post this was that when we got home, my mother realized she had left her wedding rings. As soon as she realized, she called. She knew exactly where she had left it, but whoever she spoke to on the phone would not even listen to what she had to say and told her she had to file a claim through lost and found on their website. So she did. She calls back the next day and the person on the phone told her she would have to wait 24 hours before she could speak to someone about it. So she calls back yesterday and finally someone speaks to her. They tell her her rings were not turned in, which means there are some dishonest people working inside that place. She later called the manager and all he could say was that they weren't responsible for lost or stolen items (duh) and said they would do an investigation. My mother offered cash in place of her rings because it's not even worth that much. We had a friend that had gone and left her bra hanging on the back of the bathroom door and they mailed it to her, so they are very capable of turning in items they don't find valuable. All in all, not worth the drive, the money, or the damage to my mental health after dealing with this place. Won't be back. read more

This place is so crowded it is miserable.... I would rather be anywhere than here. I went years ago when it first opened and loved it, but now it is over run with more people than it can handle. It is also dirty in the water park. And my swim suit cover up and towels got stolen the first day. Thankfully everything else was in a locker bc our room wasn't ready of course. I have been to a lot of water parks and never used a locker and have never experienced theft either at any of them. The clientele is not enjoyable or the staff. We had a good waiter at barnwood and that was it. Also it costs a fortune .... Everything here is so expensive just to be miserable. My kids even said they would not want to come to back. I've never really wanted to come here because I always thought that it was super pricey but my daughter has been begging me to go for the longest so I scarified my coins and decided to take her as an expensive Valentine's Day gift LOL. Let me also mention that I was extremely paranoid with this whole COVID thing going on. But my worried we're very quickly put to rest as soon as I got there. There are people with jet pack looking things constantly sanitizing the place. There are sanitizer station like every 5 feet. And there is mask everywhere! The staff here is absolutely amazing. Forst time here, and the kids really enjoyed it. This place is a like Vegas for kids. We did a 1 night stay with 3 kids and it was the perfect amount of time. Here at the hacks I recommend. Drinkers, bring some alcohol with you. If you don't, be prepared to spend $7-$14 per drink. Bring a Yeti type cup for the waterpark area, you'll thank me. Also, bring snacks for the room. The food was surprisingly reasonably priced with good portions. Large pizza was $23, wings ($13 with a pizza) were decent, burgers and fries were good. Important to note, some big slides require your kids to be 42" tall, the really fun slides require them to be 48"... and yes, they measure. It's a safety thing. There is a crap ton of chlorine in the water, so be sure to bring eye drops or something for your kids, they'll appreciate it. The rooms do NOT have microwaves, so plan accordingly. They do have decent size mini fridges though. Definitely wouldn't hesitate to do another 1 nighter here. Oh, and we opted for the late check-out for $80 extra. Highly recommend. Late checkout is at 2pm so we were able to play all morning again and not be in a rush. read more

First off I want to say that the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. I really like the wrist band being your "everything"...your park pass, your room key, etc. The hotel upon entry is beautiful and it's just super clean everywhere. There is more than ample free parking as well. We love GWL, just not this one. If you are a person that has been to other GWL's like us, you may be disappointed. Since this location is fairly new, we thought it would be better, grander, or whatever...but it doesn't measure up...it's different. You may, however, be in for a treat if you've never been to one. But if you are going for the first time and don't understand all the "hoopla", please don't base your opinion on this location. This location caters more to the littles and/or the age 10 and below group in my opinion. And if this is what you are looking for, then it is perfect for you. We went with a group of teens and there just isn't enough to keep them interested at this location. All of our teens had been to other GWL parks, had a lot to do and loved it...not here. There are adults that like to go to GWL too and don't have kids...I wouldn't recommend this park for you. As for us adults, most GWL's have an adult only area if you are visiting alone and/or want a break from kids in general...there is not anything at this location like that. There is a gaming area inside along with a rope course, rock climbing, MagiQuest, and a mini golf course (to name a few) that you have to pay extra for. These things are nice, but again...they cost more. For most of us the water park is our reason for going and the draw...not all the stuff that cost extra and we surely don't want to be nickel & dimed. Speaking of being nickel & dimed...everything cost here and is a typical tourist place where food is fair and pricey, no refills, etc. and the alcoholic drink are much higher and smaller. Overall, the inside park is just small. It seems as though the hotel is huge and I can't imagine being at the water park if it was at full capacity. The only hot tub outside is closed right now due to Covid which is understandable, but still doesn't measure up to other locations. Of course, due to the weather the outside pool was closed...burr! It doesn't snow in the lobby like it does at other locations this time of year. Not sure if this is due to Covid or if they just don't do it at all. I asked the question and got the deer in the headlight look like they didn't know what I was talking about. In the past, we've met adults that went to GWL to have a good time and didn't have kids. I treated my parents to a trip at another location a few years back and they loved it. So, we visited for the first time this week. It was just OK. Everything is crazy expensive, and the food is nothing to brag about and overpriced. We wanted to get the kids a small bag of freshly popped popcorn that sells for $2 at the movie theater and here they wanted to charge $7.50. smh.. they are still doing the mask mandate here. No one really stresses it except this one older woman. She will follow you to tell you to wear your mask correctly lol. I gave it 3 stars bc the kids LOVED the dance party. That's an awesome personal little touch that my 3 & 4 yr old loved, and it's free lol Abd my 3 yr old got sick at 12am and we asked for extra towels and sheets for her bed and they delivered them within 10 minutes. We spend one night check in was a breeze we arrived 2pm our room was ready ! I was shocked since others say they didn't have their room ready at 4pm . We got lucky and got a room on the bottom floor room very easy to get to the vendors and water park. The room was clean nothing fancy no complaints about the room lots of towels large bottle of shampoo n conditioner.We went to the water park first thing . The parks not as big as I would imagine definitely fun for family with younger kids. My 2 years and 1 year old grand enjoyed it especially the 2 years old. She was wide open ! If you have kids you can't control like i seen some other parents fyi don't bring them here ! We did have to stay on the kids. I seen other kids later at the top of the splash pad kicking and screaming throwing fits out of control ! I told my grand you better not act like that kid ! She ran in front of the line of 20 peop or so and was about 2 about to go down the large slide head first . The employee standing monitoring you can't tell they are employees they are in regular clothes I didn't see a badge all very young ! The all look to be teens like others said.There some that don't interact with people at all ! They let everyone do whatever. I did have one yesterday scream at my grand You have to wait ! If he would act like an employee or at least nod his head and or spoke when we came up the steps the kids would have all known to wait for him to say you can go now ! They def should have more training for the teens. It's hard for some adults to listen to a teen much less kids. I would rather the teens speak up be involved to help make it a safe experience so I rather them speak up instead of just standing there not saying anything as some kids could get hurt They many parents that should be more on their kids but they allow them to run wild which is fine it's all fun but some need to followed at all time . Some of the slide when kids come out they are on their backs and water is over their heads.We enjoyed the large slide the one the whole family could sit in the large floats and go down. There was three others but my grandkids were to small to do any of them so we didn't get to do them. You have to climb about six flights of steps to get to ride any of the largest slides. My 2 y old gran she climb the steps really good at least seven or so times We let her walk them others went around us there is two sets of steps one for set peop with younger kids or peep that just can't climb as quickly. The vendors some close earlier then the hours show fyi you can text front desk and ask them anything. It's very convenient to do so. We didn't buy from any vendors at all because irs all overly priced ! We brought snacks and went to town about 2 miles to get food. Which we only had to do twice. We spent so much time at the water park trying to get as much time as possible. I like that you get to go use the water park on the day you check out . We spent 11am til 230 at the water park. We didn't want to be traveling and overly tired . We could have stayed until 8 pm. The rooms are overly priced but this does include price for the family to have access to the water park. I can't really complain much . We went to the dance party which is at front desk area . It's all over big plot to have kids throwing fits for the led toys ! The dance party started at 8pm ended at 830 instead of 9 they said next one was at 10 so its only 30 mins each. Just long enough for them to make a killing off them led toys. I wanted to get a bubble wund for my grand but $30 is outrageous! They had some smaller for $20 and $5 NOT worth it !! All kids would want the $30 one's not the tiny smaller one's . Everything is extra use the app it's very helpful to see the free events and one's you pay for. The golf and ropes wall all are really small .we didn't do any of this kids to small to do so.Like others said take towels to the water park or you will freeze when you travel back to your room . We could take the park water towel back to room but don't forget to turn them in it's $15 a towel ! Don't leave room towels at the park or you will get charged for towels after check out . There's plenty of tables and chairs at the water park to use we couldn't get a table because everyone leave personal belongings to hold them up. We took the kids Wagon in the water park made getting them around the motel super easily we also used it to hold personal belongings . We did use the shower which I do have a few complaints about. It's clean they have shower and dressing rooms. It's cold in there ! I was freezing I didn't shower my daughter did. I just wanted out of there quickly. As I am typing this, I am sitting in the lobby enjoying a delicious Dunkin Donuts coffee served by two of the friendliest people I have ever met. I am watching the staff have morning yoga class with a group of the kids who are having a blast! To say this is a great experience would not do it justice. The water park packs a big punch to be indoors. Of course when compared to multi acre outdoor parks, it would fall short, but for a birthday trip in January for a 6 year old-it is pure bliss and everything you could possibly want. We especially love the family slide (I forget the name). As I said, we are here in late January for a Monday-Wed trip (advantage of homeschool flexibility). There are NO crowds and we haven't waited in line for a single thing! Check in took 5 minutes and our room is perfect! My daughter loves the kids cave and has made it her own space. We got the birthday package which came with balloons, a sign on our door, a yummy cake and 20 dollar arcade gift card. Honestly, I wish I had opted for the paw pass instead, but my daughter loved the extra attention to detail. We haven't done the Magiquest yet, but it looks epic and the kids around us seem to be living it. We had dinner at Barnwood (I recommend the spicy shrimp pasta). I felt like it was average priced for a resort and had nice kid friendly options (my daughter recommends the spaghetti and meatball). One big thing that I think speaks volumes-the staff! They have been amazing! I wanted to look at a bathing suit in the outfitters store (Paddle something or other), but couldn't find out when it opened from the app. I asked at the front desk and was informed that it is closed temporarily. BUT, she said that if I came back after 10:00, security would let me in and they would have a cashier to meet me there and help me with anything I needed! That's above and beyond!!!!! One last thing- the dance party! It is short, but the kids (big and small) had a blast. I do recommend going ahead and setting aside some extra cash for a light up bubble wand-it just added to the experience for our girl! Super fun! Plenty of activities for all ages. A little pricey, but tons of amenities at your fingertips!

We came here for a little back to school weekend fun. It was much nicer that expected with lots to do. Arcade, mini golf, obstacle course, rock climbing. There are several eating options, as well as Duncan Donuts and Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream. Several things are a separate charge so bring your wallet ;) The water park was really nice with lots of slides for all ages. My children ages 10 and 5 had a great time and were exhausted from all of the fun by 5:30 p.m, requesting to get some dinner and "relax". We did arrive at the water park at 9 a.m. which is when the doors open. Make sure to get there early to claim your seats, unless you plan to purchase a cabana. We were able to easily get 4 lounge chairs and people left out things alone for the entire day (nothing of value, just towels). The area is really warm and so is the water, so if was easy to jump right into having fun. I am not sure how the staff at the park could improve this, but I witnessed a lot of older children picking on younger children. Although we keep our kids close, we had to tell teens several times, that they could not just walk in front of us in line or push my child to the side because they wanted to play on the jungle gym (yes teens wanting to push a 5 year old to the side to play on the jungle gym!). I often saw teens and younger adults pushing smaller children around on the lazy river and there were 2-3 life guards in that area at a time that should have said something to stop them. read more

LIFE, in its simplest form, is all about perspective and the lense in which you view it. To my 5 year old grandson, Great Wolf Lodge is a place we should live forever! To my teens it was fun for a few hours, but not for a few days. To my wife it was less than a 2 hour drive, which made it far more appealing than 6 hours to the beach or winding through the mountains (which makes her nauseous). To me it was bitterly expensive compared to other values for the money. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed our stay, primarily because I got to check a few items off my Georgia bucket list located in the area. But also because the facility catered to several of my triggers: - It still has its new car smell - the rooms were decent in size - the décor throughout the facility was modern and highly attractive - the staff was extremely hospitable - and biggest of all, it made my wife happy! THE SCENE I fully expected to have a few challenges after reading some of the reviews prior to our visit. However, our stay was seamless. We had no issues with the room, service, facilities or check-in. We booked our room the day before our trip, which happened to be Labor Day weekend. Pricing was OUTRAGEOUS @ $1,125 w/tax for two nights, but an online deal brought the total down to less than half that amount. Check-in was a breeze (only 6 minutes). We completed the precheck-in en route and soon after receive notification our room was ready early. Although check-in wasn't until 4pm, we were already settled into our room by 1pm. THE ROOM Our Family Suite included 2 comfortable queen beds, full size sofa sleeper, table w/two chairs, mini-fridge, TV, extended countertop w/shelves & dresser drawers. The sink is outside of the bathroom, which we appreciated because others could still get dressed or brush their teeth if someone was showering or using the toilet. Also, HOT showers tend to steam up the mirror, so having it outside of the bathroom eliminates the problem. The bench/shoe niche in the foyer was a nice touch and the mattresses and pillows were very comfortable. We slept like babies and awoke pain free. THE FACILITIES A HUGE fireplace and sitting area greets you upon entry into the lobby. On the opposite side of the fireplace is another sitting area designed for kids. During our visit this space was used often for movies, story-time and even kid yoga classes. There is a kid camp for playtime (such as face painting) in the day and childcare in the evenings. There are two retail stores selling souvenirs & clothing, a Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Shop, Dunkin' Donuts (which gets a really long line in the mornings) and a candy shop. The corridor directly left of check-in leads to the rooms and a small food store. Other amenities include a video game arcade, pizza parlor, taco bus, rock climbing wall, mini-golf, rope course, gold mining and MagiQuest with mystery boxes located throughout the main floor. Only the water park, outdoor pool and camp activities are included with your stay. Nearly everything else costs extra, so parents, bring your next mortgage payment. THE WATER PARK One thing I really appreciated was the lack of humidity. Some indoor water parks can get really stuffy and unpleasant, but here it remained comfortable all day. A lazy river, wave pool, huge dumping bucket and tube slides are the main features. Plenty of areas designed for young children and toddlers, but sadly not so much for teens. Active teens will likely get bored here within hours on their first day like mine did. The only real activities for them are the tube rides and main pool. THE RESTAURANTS The food is hit or miss and several items are overpriced in my opinion. The Sweet Tea brined fried chicken (3 stars) for example was average in flavor, but cost $19 and included NO SIDES. The Shrimp & Grits (3.5 stars) was tastier that I expected, but not quite worth $18. The Mushroom Risotto (4 stars) was great, but cost $16. The gluten-free Fried Green Tomatoes were nicely cooked, but extremely bland (2 stars). Also to our disliking were the mac & cheese (2 star), green beans (1 star) and creamed corned (2 stars). As far as other on-site food, the chicken nuggets, burgers, fries and tacos were all respectable while the sausage & pepperoni pizza was actually pretty good (4 stars)! These items were all fairly priced. THE AREA Currently there is very little to do in the immediate Lagrange area. The only nearby restaurants are McDonald's, Wendy's, Arby's & Waffle House. However, if you are willing to drive, within an hour you'll find white water rafting, a wild animal safari, a infantry museum, Calloway Gardens and the Riverwalk in Columbus, GA. FINAL THOUGHTS In all honesty, we had a nice stay, but we've stayed in larger water park suites that included kitchens, more space, paid less per day and featured more amenities! Me & my mom & granny booked a day pass trip here for today. It was very misleading when we arrived it was around 12 to 1 they don't have clear directions as to where to park when you get to the gate it says $15 to park $30 for a lost ticket mind you it doesn't mention that you have to pay the $15 for parking as soon as you check in & then on top of that they charge you a $50 incidental hold even if you don't stay at the hotel overnight we had to ask for the manager who never came out the employee at the check in center went to the back & then came back & said the manager say just charge $1 for the incidental hold which still didn't make sense since they don't do that anywhere else. After we checked The day pass includes unlimited access to the bowling. Golfing. And wall climbing. In order to use these features, you have to go to a little stone hut in the middle of the Entrance to the waterpark and get tokens in order to do the bowling & every round you have to go back for more tokens for golfing, you have to go back to the same hut and they have to give you the ball and club. It is very small and misleading. There is not really any activities for adults mainly children. The waterpark is a disappointment. The employees have nasty attitudes and don't really wanna be at work. We did not even stay the full day. We ended up leaving around 2 to 3. Check-in: Check in was a breeze but there was confusion where to put our car while we unloaded and checked in. I put in for a room upgrade and not a word was mentioned while I was checking in. Customer Service while checking in: Other than being hard to hear based on noise all around me and the mask the customer service rep had on, this went fine. They did offer to have us add $100 to our account for in house purchases, which at the time seemed like a good idea. Room: This was as we expected. Using willow was an excellent tool for getting more towels and toilet paper when needed. Water Park: ~Bathroom - Very clean and easily assessable for any and everybody. ~Whirlpool - Too many kids in the hot tub unsupervised. There should be someone checking the hot tub at times to ensure the enjoyment and safety of all parties. My wife had to get a little one to stop cannon balling into the hot tub, not just for her enjoyment of the tub but his safety as well. Once I almost stepped on a kid who thought it was a good idea to swim under the water. ~Waterslides - We had a blast on the slides. I can understand you probably have a staff shortage problem, especially while kids are in school. However having only one attendant on both bigger waterslides really slowed the lines down. On our last day there was an attendant who put the wrong rafts on the wrong slides. On the racing slides, more times than not the innertubes were just thrown around. ~Wave Pool - This was fun, even crowded we had room in the pool to have fun ~Lazy River - We love a lazy river, but this is anything BUT lazy. That was disappointing with the roughness of others. Arcade: We spent $140 on cards to have some fun on the games. We were a little disappointed to see the "prizes". My kids are teenagers and most of the toy selection was either way too high for the ticket count or "too little" for someone their age. Buckets: The chicken, hamburger and hot dog were fantastic! Fries were hot and delicious. Kitchen staff appeared to be jumping and working hard. Only complaint is the soda out of the machine tasted flat and there was no ice at all in the machine. Pizza: Pizza was really good. Reminded me a lot of the pizza you get from Sams club, Which our family loves as well. Pretty pricey for a 16" supreme but it was good. I was very happy when this new location opened up earlier this year. While my family had a great time at the location in Concord, NC in the past, this location is far more convenient for us. The exterior is very well maintained with a great looking entrance with all the seasonal flowers. They still have the stone-carved wolf as well. You can pick up carts at the entrance to assist in carrying your bags inside. The check-in line was a little confusing. There was a long line and a very short line. My initial reaction was to jump into the long line before it got longer. When my wife walked over to check out the shorter line, it appeared that that was actually the line we needed to be in. It turns out the mobile check-in line was actually far longer than the non pre-check-in line. There was a sign, but it was too far away to read if you're in the first line. It would be better if they put the sign right in the front where everyone could read it easily. The layout of the lodge was nice. You have everything you need in one long corridor, with shops, stores, attractions, and the water park all along that corridor, which makes everything easy to find. I was a little disappointed in the outdoor pool though. At the Concord location, it is much more family and kid-friendly. This location seems to be mainly for adults only, as there are no water play areas or basketball goals. As for the water park, it seems like there are fewer slides than the other location. Overall, it just felt smaller. With that being said, there are some slides that don't exist at the other water park, like the one that shoots you straight down. And this location has a lazy river which was fun as well. There's also a bar in the middle with some TV's. And there are some restaurants that have two-sided openings where you can order food from the inside or directly from the water park side if you don't wish to leave it, which I thought was a nice idea. Other than the water park, they offer several indoor activities that you'll never have the weather to worry about. There's the ropes course, miniature golf, miniature bowling, rock climbing, the arcade, and also the MagiQuest game. All of the attractions were a little overpriced, especially the arcade where 20 bucks won't get you very far. All of the games cost a couple of bucks to play. And the MagiQuest game was a little too confusing for me, let alone for the kids to enjoy. If you plan to do a couple of these activities, it would be a good idea to get the bundle deal to save yourself some money. Overall, my kids had a great time here. They enjoyed all of the activities offered, including many free ones. The food options are decent. You never have to leave the lodge once you arrive. The rooms were nice. Our suite was very spacious. This was our 3rd time staying here and was our favorite of the three!!! I think they are training the staff to be extra nice because everyone we dealt with went out of their way to help us. I'm talking from the second we walked in to our last game of bowling! We got a coupon for a new picture feature they were implementing before we even checked in. They gave us so many perks along the way, and it felt like anytime there was a question, they gave extra service and we weren't even asking for it!!! Here now and we love it! As far as people saying it's very costly, if they've been to universal or any other resort, this place is BY FAR cheaper than any of them. And we hold passes to Universal. We came for a conference and I brought my daughter and granddaughter(4). We ALL love it here. There is so much to do and the restaurant prices are equivalent to going out- except you don't have to leave! The souvenirs are standard price.. of course. The meals at the "American style restaurants" (drink, fries, and burger or hotdog) are almost equal to price as McDonald's down the road- 11-12.99, and that's a MEAL. That's good. We had an absolutely amazing time! The customer service was incredible! The room was exactly what my boys ordered. This place is perfect for kids who like to have a little freedom and splash! I could sit and enjoy watching my little guys splash and play and not get nervous because everything is open to see. We plan on coming back often. They have military discounts which is a plus! I will say the food is a bit expensive and the water pressure in our room sink was low, however all of that can be overlooked when you're only staying for a few days and the customer service is incredible. read more
