We came in the perfect time, while all the fall colors are putting on their best show. This park/ campground sits right along a huge lake, and the views are pretty incredible. It does cost a small bit to be able to enter the park, but there is plenty of places to stop and park and hang out once you get in. We only stayed for part of a day but you are able to fully camp there with plenty of amenities provided. Definitely a hidden place off the road, and West Point is not typically a town you accidentally pass through, but if you're ever in the area I'd highly recommend spending some time in nature with a visit here! It's sure to boost your mood!

We asked them about parking (no fee) and were returning there for lunch later anyway. We then hiked up Rt 190 about 50 yards and found the trail crossing. We opted to do the one on the left - I think it was Bentley? The one on the right was the Pine Mountain trail. The trail was a nice hike through the woods but never more than 200 yards from a main road. We followed it to a junction and turned right so as to begin the loop back. Since it had taken longer than planned already, we hiked back along Route 190 instead of another trail. In total, it was about 2.1 miles and took us from 10:45 a.m. to 12:05 p.m.! The trail was hilly with a lot of rocks so the pace was slow. I enjoyed the hike, though.

You won't be able to use the kiosk to check in and depending on how busy it is, you might end up being in line for 30+ minutes to check in at the front desk. If you have an electric car, have a back up plan to charge your car. They have 4 Tesla chargers and two non-Tesla chargers. I've been told the two non-tesla ones does not work. The Tesla ones work half the time and you need to change the charge to 20amp from your car setting or it would stop charging after 5 minutes. I've also been told they plan to remove all the chargers in the near future so call ahead and ask. Sign up for their newsletter. They often have deals throughout the year and special sale on 8/4 every year. It's a fun place but everything inside is overpriced so expect to spend an extra $100 per night there if you plan on dining there as well. I've seen people pack their own lunch and drinks in a cooler and none of the staff members seem to care. There's also a mini fridge in the room and a microwave and ice machine on every floor. Bring a sweater or warm jacket. Walking out of the water park to air conditioned indoor area can be cold. In my opinion, staying on the first floor has been the more convenient. Especially the morning of checkout. You don't have to wait for the elevator and usually the elevator fills up quickly around checkout time. If you are purchasing miniature golf or bowling, buy the family deal if you have four or more people. The arcade Is a money pit, don't stay here too long or try your best to avoid it. My son loves this place and we keep coming back so they must be doing something right lol the staffs here have always been friendly so no complaints there.

It is like 25 per person so I definitely recommend getting there early and making a day of it. Bring lunch and have a picnic. Visit gardens butterflies and chapel as well as the raptor center. Take a hike and relax at the beach. You really can make a whole day there and with all you can do 25 isn't bad.

This location is about 30 minutes from LaGrange. It's a smaller campground area, with maybe a .75 mile radius from the center of the grounds. Keith, the front gate guy, was really awesome and helpful. Campsites are about a mile from park entrance and easy to find. They have a peninsula for tents and then separate sites for drive-up. There's a boat ramp with dock, and then 2-3 mini docks. Grounds are clean! The bathrooms are excellent with high power water in the showers, and a very nice laundry room. On the grounds, they've got a separate pavilion area about a half mile from the camp sites with day picnic tables and bathrooms. Parking is included with your stay. They also have a firewood delivery service, which is super convenient! Sites have a grill for cooking and smaller fire pit area, along with a picnic table. Beautiful views and easy access to everything. My only complaint is that the trails here are very unkempt and not easily recognizable. I had hoped for some hikes but just stuck to riding my bike. Overall, would recommend!

The speed limit is 5mph, essential to follow because animals come very close to the cars and sometimes put their heads inside vehicles. We only ordered one bag of food per person in our squad (this was definitely not enough, I would've ordered a half bag or another bag more per person). The food is what keeps the animals engaged and attracted to you - so if this is the experience you're looking for make sure you keep this in mind. Being able to pet wild animals and feed them was so fun! Few things to note: you can rent a car ($30+) or use your own. Also, there are interactive experiences in the walk around area of the zoo I would recommend participating in if you are an animal lover and if so make sure you do reservations in ADVANCE. These are typically sold out. In summary, although the location is a little out the way, I'd definitely come back for the uniqueness of the experience.

We took our own car through and although a little anxious about it, the animals never touched it, just stuck their heads in the window and moved along when we started moving.
