General Tso Combination Platter.
Jeff M.

Did you know there are like... six Great Wall Chinese restaurants in OKC (and its surrounding areas)? All of the following zip codes have a Great Wall: 73116, 73142, 73139, 73003, 73013, and 73099. That's a lot of Great Walls. Enough to where maybe we could combine them to create the greatest, most bigliest wall there is. But anyway, I'm talking about the 73099 Great Wall (GW 73099), and how do I begin to describe... Okay, let's say there's a numeric rating scale from 1 to 10, where... 1 = Chinese food 5 or 6 = American-Chinese food 10 = American food Great Wall 73099 would be sitting at like an 8. It's the most American, American-Chinese food I have ever eaten. If GW 73099 was any more American in its approach to flavor/spice/seasoning/etc., it would call itself Subway and offer me a oven roasted turkey on white bread. I have never eaten American-Chinese food this bland. Ever. Frankly, I'm kinda mind-blown at the amazing reviews. I think when I skimmed through the reviews, I even saw the word "best" in one or two of the reviews (which is why I even decided to try this place). If you believe GW 73099 has exceptionally good American-Chinese food, then... You must not eat a lot of Chinese food (Americanized or otherwise). In my relatively short life, I've never felt the need to add salt to Chinese food (until now), because if there's one thing Chinese food has in spades, it's salt. I had to drench the food (noodles, rice, chicken, everything) in soy sauce in an attempt to impart some sort of flavor. Because rice cakes shouldn't be what you think of when you're eating Chinese food. It was the most bland, under-cooked, flavorless, say-nothing, do-nothing, American-Chinese food I've consumed. But I will say that the generous portions work in GW 73099's favor. You may not taste anything, but you won't be hungry by the end of the meal. And the General Tso combination platter (while being a good price/value) was less General and more... someone who didn't enlist. Un-enlisted Tso sounds right. If GW 73099 was a person, he (or she) would be the most milquetoast Asian immigrant ever. Now, having said all this, I'm willing to admit that maybe I'm wrong. Maybe all of you fine Yelpers rate this particular GW so highly for good reason, and my meal was just missing a certain somethin'-somethin' (like one of the five major taste sensations). And considering the prices are so low, I'm willing to give it another go relatively soon. This is (according to Yelp) the closest non-American food to our domicile, so I'm likely to eat here again. But only when my wife leaves me home alone, with an empty fridge, and I'm feeling super-lazy. I will say this though. The egg roll was good. Like... Really good. It was the bigliest of egg rolls.

Shrimp toast

This is the best Chinese food I've eaten. Everything was cooked perfectly. The shrimp rangoon, spring rolls, crispy noodles, sweet and sour pork and chicken were all cooked golden brown and not burnt like a lot of places cook now. The chicken and pork are tender and juicy. The wonton soup is perfect, not too salty. The chow mein is the perfect crispness and delicious. The portions are large and there's always enough for lunch the next day for everyone.

We love their food. It's a go to when I don't feel like cooking. Portions and price are great.

Great General Tso's chicken. Portions are very good too. The 'Ol Lady and I usually split one order.

Panda Buffet - Nice!

We recently visited Panda Express, and it was our first time there. We were seriously impressed!…read moreThe all-you-can-eat buffet was fully stocked, and everything we tried tasted incredibly fresh. The food was hot, flavorful, and constantly being refilled, so nothing sat out too long. There was a great variety to choose from, and every dish had bold flavor and was cooked just right. It's hard to find a buffet where the quality matches the quantity, but this place definitely delivered. For our first visit, it exceeded expectations in every way. We would rate it way over a 10 out of 10 and will absolutely be back!

My husband found this place looking for something to eat. LOL We're always on the search for Asian…read morefood, and he loves buffets. I always have a hard time with Chinese food because I'm from Hawaii and so that's what I'm comparing it to. He suggested we go here. The serve lunch and dinner buffet, and they also allow you to buy to go. This is paid by the pound. The food is ok, the standard Chinese food. Beef broccoli, chicken and mushroom, sweet & sour chicken, pork loin, fried rice, steamed rice, soup, etc. So essentially the standard stuff. The food is usually hot, and they turn over the food pretty quickly, so it's usually fresh. I've never had any problems with the menu. The restaurant itself is pretty sizable, so there are booths as well as tables to sit at. The hostess is friendly and remembers your face when you come in. (That's a big deal to me) When we went in my younger son wasn't with us, and she noticed and asked after him. So, it means she pays attention! They do offer soda, but I can't remember if it's included with the cost for the buffet. They do have an adult price, and a child's price. We don't go there a ton, but the customer service is always great. They ensure your drinks are filled and they clear your dirty plates pretty quick as well. So, check it out. I think it's better than the Chinese place that's in Stillwater! No I'm not talking about Golden Dragon, or the place that's in the old red lobster.

China Panda - Sweet and sour chicken and fried rice, well their idea of fried rice. Yuck!

We called it in and she said it would be 30 minutes but when we go there, there was at least 20 other people packed in there waiting to get their food. It was so busy that they turned the phones and the online ordering off. It took about an hour and a half to get the food but I'm not complaining about that. They were simply overwhelmed. They were all very nice even though it was crazy inside. There are only a couple tables to sit at so it's mainly for pick up. I wish they delivered. We ate there two nights in a row because the first night, they forgot one of the sweet and sour pork. We couldn't call because they had turned the phones off and I didn't feel like braving the line again that night so we called the next day and had it replaced and just ordered a few other things to go with it. She gave us a $5 discount for the inconvenience. The beef in the beef and broccoli had a weird texture. It was gooey but at the same time most of it was tough and stringy. I spit most of the beef out because it couldn't be chewed. The broccoli and sauce were good though so I enjoyed that. The lo mein was ok, the pork was a lot better than the chicken. The spring rolls are vegetable. The filling had a different taste and texture than what I've ever had before. The egg rolls were better than the spring rolls, maybe because they had pork in them. The wonton egg drop soup was delicious. The wontons were huge! All the fried rice (we got pork, plain, vegetable, and shrimp fried rice) was really good. They weren't heavy on the oil and the vegetables were tender crisp. The sweet and sour shrimp, pork and chicken were perfect; the shrimp was my favorite. They were crisp on the outside but tender on the inside and they weren't drowning in oil. The crab rangoon was delicious too although there wasn't much crab. The texture felt like they finely chopped the crab meat and the wonton was fried perfectly to a golden brown. The lemon chicken was amazing. It's basically the chicken they use for sweet and sour but then they squeeze lemon on them and serve it with a lemon sauce that is a cross between the sweet and sour sauce sweetness with a lemony taste. I could almost drink the lemon sauce by itself it was so good. I plan on going back very soon to get lemon chicken, sweet and sour shrimp and crab rangoon!

The chicken wasn't too bad but the fried rice is plain out tasteless. We will drive the extra miles to find better. It was worth a try.
