Shark fin with crab meat soup
    Tuan P.

While Dot Wo may not have the best Chinese food, it's still is a great place for group dining, family style, and this is exactly the reason to go to this restaurant. We came in as a group of 10 people and had a great experience. 1. Shark fin with crab meat soup was good similar to other Chinese restaurants. If you have to get a soup, this is the one to get. 2. Chicken chow mein - I have never been a big fan of this dish, mainly of the "gooey" taste. It was alright so I guess if you like chow mein, you might enjoy it. 3. Chicken and salty fish fried rice - it was great. Had a different flavor which made it unique. This is the fried rice for adventurous individuals. 4. Chicken salad - my least favorite dish. Cold salad with a sour and salty taste. It was just not for me. 5. Fried fish - my favorite dish. They fish tasted great and fresh. There were a lot of bones so eating this would require some works. 6. Oysters with ginger and green onion - this was cooked oysters (steamed) with seasonings. It was good. Some oysters were fresher than others. 7. Lobster with ginger and green onion - it was delicious. Come on, it was lobster. 8. Snow pea tips stud fry - the salt was spotty. Some parts of the dish were really salty whereas some were not. It was a top pick for a vegetable stir fry. 9. Water spinach stir fry - the other top pick for a vegetable stir fry dish. It was great. Hard to recommend one over the other. Either one would be a good choice. Service was good. Restaurant was slower than the one on the northwest side of town.

We have been coming here for years. Always fresh wonderful food and great service. Lunch specials are fabulous. We got the proper chicken and kung pao sweet and sour combos this time. Not super busy but steady. Love the decor.

    Egg Drop Soup WITH HAIR!!

First off I called ahead to order my food. I was asking the lady who picked up the phone some questions and just because she didn't understand me she hung up on me so I called angain and ordered. I ordered a lunch box with the side of shrimp instead of the egg roll. When I went to pick up my order I saw they gave me egg rolls instead. So I told them and they were arguing with me that's how it comes with so I told them but upon ordering I asked to get the lunch box that comes with shrimp and they said ok. So, I had to wait a good 10 minutes for them to change the egg rolls to the fried shrimp. Anyways, I came home and I was eating my soup I notice something in my mouth. There was pieces of hair in it unfortunately, another time we went and there was a piece of hair in their eggplant dish. So, this time I called them to let them know and they said we'll refund you only if you bring the food back. This was the first time I heard this only if you bring the food back they refund you. Horrible food and horrible customer service.

Lunch special ... Triple Delight and fried rice

The husband has been a regular here for many, many years. His exposure to foreign cuisines has always been very limited until we started dating but Dot Wo has always been his favourite. He has raved and raved about their egg drop soup and triple delight for as long as I can remember and has been saying he will bring me here. Almost four years later he finally did it! Our modus operendi is to turn up at opening time to avoid the crowd and it was no different on this occasion. We were the first ones there but within 10 mins customers were filing slowly. By the time we left the place had at least 9 other tables. The restaurant interior is typical. Nothing impressively eye-catching but it was a lot bigger than I'd imagined. The lady that took care of us was accommodating and friendly. She told us to go ahead and sit wherever we like seeing as we're the first people there. At a glance, their menu is very impressive with plenty of choices and all-time favourites like roast duck, peking duck, BBQ pork, stir-fried abalone, steamed fish, and other well-known Chinese dishes. The husband wanted his regular menu choice and I was keen to follow suit to see what he's been going on about all this time. So we ordered the lunch special. When I lived in Bangkok, Thailand, I'd hop on a flight to Hong Kong to gorge on the best Chinese foods once in a while, with a close friend living there there'd always be free accommodation ... hehe ... I hope this qualifies me to discern how good their food is. Our lunch came out speedily. For a lunch set, it was a lot of food! The husband said the portion size has dwindled over the years but what was in front of us was still ample. Now, I do understand how a lot of ethnic foods have to adapt and become somewhat Americanised so as to suit the local palate, so I wasn't expect a whole lot from this visit. To my surprise, the egg drop soup was hot and tasty, the crab rangoon was crispy and tasty, and the Triple Delight wasn't bad, just a tad too sweet but, really, it wasn't bad. The fried rice was plain and bland, though, but it went together perfectly with the Triple Delight. The real test will be to come back to order the a la carte menu, perhaps a roast duck and some crispy pork. I'll do that and post another review when I do. Looking forward to it! :)

I've truly forgotten how delicious and authentic Dot Wo at this location is. It is the best one in my opinion. The service and quality of food are unmatched. They were super busy when we went and I thought the wait time and service were just right. The steamed sea bass fillet I ordered.. the price was steep but worth it. It was so tender and flavorful! I ordered deep fried quail for my parents and they praised on how good it is. I don't really have anything negative to say about them except I wish they were closer to my house because we would dine here all the time.

    Incredible lunch menu!

Dot Wo is what I've been looking for: Delicious Chinese food in a beautiful restaurant with great service, rather than just a small carry-out place. This checks all the boxes! It's got a beautiful interior with lots of comfy booths and tables. They have several large tables for bigger groups or family gatherings too. The service was quick and very friendly, and my sister and I both loved everything we ordered. The $10.75 lunch specials are a lot of food! We both took more than half home for a second meal. I will be returning here soon!

Always great food. Menu is a littler short than the old restaurant but I don't fault them for that. Everything I've had was great!

Don't know why they don't just converge their menus and open up the space. Service was great, friendly and efficient. Only one guy was working front of the house, so he was busy with the tables and the to-go orders. We only got water to drink, but all their drinks come in these cut mason jars. The E-San Sausage was delicious. It came with a side of cabbage and some pickled ginger that helps cut through the grease. The Crispy Pork Kai-Lan was just okay, not any different from other beef & broccoli dishes elsewhere. The Mango Sticky Rice was so good! The sticky rice was just rice on the stickiness, and the mango was very sweet.

I brought one of my friends here, and she said it's the best and most affordable Thai restaurant…read moreshe's ever been to! The service is incredibly fast and attentive, which made the experience even better. I've ordered so much takeout from this place that I feel like I've tried nearly everything on the menu, and here are my top recommendations. Also, this place has hands down the best Khao Soi in town! Appetizers -Grilled Pork (Moo Ping) -- Juicy, tender, and flavorful. -Fried Angel Chicken Wing -- Super crispy with a tasty marinade. -Chicken or Pork Pot Stickers -- Great starter; crispy outside, juicy inside. -Shumai -- Light, flavorful, and always cooked just right. Salad -Yum Woon Sen Seafood -- Fresh, tangy, with just the right amount of heat. -Papaya Salad with Dried Shrimp -- The perfect summer salad! I usually ask for extra Thai chilies and lime for that spicy, zesty kick. Main Dishes -Thai Chicken Rice (Kao Mun Gai) -- The best chicken rice ever -- simple but comforting. -Fried Chicken Rice -- Like Kao Mun Gai, but with crispy fried chicken instead of steamed -- so satisfying. Thai Basil Stir-Fried Pork: You can get it with ground or crispy pork; both are amazing. -Crispy Pork Stir-Fried Kai-Lan -- Just as good as the basil pork, a perfect balance of savory and crunchy. -Thai Garlic Pork (Moo Gra Tiem) -- Fragrant, garlicky, always hits the spot. Curry Chicken Noodles (Khao Soi) is my absolute favorite dish here. They're creamy, rich, and flavorful. The chicken portion (thigh/breast) is huge, too! -Roasted Duck Noodle Soup -- Comforting, with tender duck and a rich, savory broth. -Tom Yum Noodle Soup -- Spicy, sour, and so warming, packed with flavor. Desserts / Drinks -Thai Tea -- Sweet, creamy, and the perfect way to cool down. -Mango Sticky Rice -- A classic done right, fresh mango, sticky rice, and just the right amount of coconut sauce. This spot and Panang (next door) have easily become one of my all-time favorite Thai restaurants. The food is always consistently delicious, the portions are generous, the service is friendly, and the value is unbeatable. It never lets me down, whether dining in or grabbing takeout!
